Great ending Josh! It's tough to lose any animal on the farm. So glad it turned up!
I know right!
Hey Josh! This situation changed from reluctant resignation to joy in the blink of an eye! Ma Nature is unforgiving and very few get a second chance. You'll have to name that calf, "LUCKY"! Whew! What a relief!
Thermal drone’s may be a good investment for future locations and heard management.
Wow that is amazing that after 3days the calf survived... that might be a keeper cow with that much determination to live.
Sweet reunion….nothing like a happy ending.
Soooooo happy for you, moma, and the calf!!!!!🎉
I'm glad the calf showed up.. my only suggestion is when you do your search, start at the first place it was at then progressively continue to work backwards. That's just my thoughts. Have a blessed day sir.
keep watching and you'll be surprised!!
Yay!! You HAVE to keep that one now; it’s survived so long without its mama, it MUST be special! 🤩🤩
lol.....it's special alright ...this calf has been a little hide and seek calf ever since it was born
Love great outcome Yeah ! Like the good shepherd left the 99 to go find the one lost, praise God thank You that Josh found his lost calf.
Cheers Josh
Buddy sure is smart so smart he was hoping that calf wasn't way back in those briars😂 he really didn't go in there lol good dog good people good video
I’m happy for you that you found your calf.❤
We moved cattle years ago and had left a new born behind. The cow actually jumped two fences to get back to it.
Wow what a plot twist at the end! So happy for the 3 of you, amazing how that calf can go a few days without its mom.
Man, that is not the ending I was expecting! So glad it’s back.
Two thumbs up! Glad the calf turned up. You mentioned springs. So nice to have them on a property. We have a few of them on our 162 acres in NW Alabama, including the springs that feed our two ponds. They still are flowing into the ponds at the driest and hottest points in the summer.
never can have too much water on your property that's for sure!
Soooooo happy for you, moma, and the calf
Great news baby is back with mom, that will surely make your day. it's always tough to lose any animal especially when your life is all about animals.
Enjoying seeing u trying so hard to find ur babe calf -hoping u find it ✝️🙏
watch till the end my friend! You'll love it!
Josh and his dog remind me of Barney Fife and his dog Blue !
So glad the little one made its way back! After searching like you did, that calf’s name would be Houdini lol. Again glad it’s back
Awesome ending !!
Glad the calf made it back
That was crazy! So glad the calf came back. Must have found a really good hiding place.
Yes it was!
A lot of the areas you searched look like a lot of fun with a forestry mulcher!
Great day ! especially for MOMMY !
WOW,sorry about your calf
Good out come for Stoney Ridge Farmer :) Awesome to see your calf back. We searched for one for 3 days and on the 4th day the little bugger finally came out. The cow was sure happy to see it as we were too. She finally could quit bawling. We had given up. So glad your was ok and I hope it stays with Momma. Sure like your videos.
That calf woke up and everybody was gone, good that he found his way back
3 days later!! Crazy huh!
Glad the calf found its way back
oh congratulations to baby returning
Wow, better name that Calf Lucky Lucy! Can't believe it survived!
Glad it came back

Awesome ending!! Great job on searching!
Something smells with this scenario and then the ending was fantastic. Can't believe all the comments before watching the video or they would know what happened? Smdh
Josh, I'm so sorry for your loss. words elude me
I shoulda skipped to the end. Lol so glad they are together again. ❤️❤️
that's like reading the first page and the last page of a book....gotta see the fun parts! lol
I like happy endings. I wonder where the little rascal was?
That is awesome!
I sure as heck was expecting you had a theft issue. It still exist. But great news Josh. 👍🏻👍🏻
Awesome. Im so happy for momma cow 🐄 has her 🍼 baby calf
One downside to rotational grazing I had never considered. They can really hide those boogers and well the first couple of days.
WOW! I really didn't think 201's calf would ever be found
Josh, you could put GPS tracker's on the calf ear tags. This would be helpful for the first six months.
YAY!!! Baby made it back!!
what you don't know is the calf went to Vegas, got a tattoo lol and became a longshoremen, good thing the baby came home :)
she looked a bit more experienced when she came back lol
That calf is smart or something lol
Trail cams are a good investment
👍🏻
I love happy endings! Yipee!!
You are the suspenseful Hitchcock of regen farming😃 I was all nah, nature's just doing its thing, your search was forlorn. And then you go and drop the happy ending in the last few seconds. You had me welling up man😂
I thought for sure that calf was gone! What a great ending to the story for sure!
Again someone else to blame...the sky's falling!!
I sure hope you watched the entire video ....sky was falling at the end....it rained a calf!!
That’s no longer named by its number but now, Lucky.
Wow!! Calf Found It's Way Home.. Where Do You Think It Probably Went After All That Search & No Luck?
Awesome news Josh. But where did it go and hide. Guess that’s going to be the big mystery ?
Good deal, you never want to lose a calf. Mama said thanks.
🙏🙏❤️❤️🇺🇸🇺🇸. God works in mysterious ways. God Bless y'all. John V. Michigan
We just lost our best boer goat buck. I had to listen to the book of Job on repeat to get it together. He was perfect and would have been our herd sire. This is what happens when you keep a herd, whether it's cows, goats, or other livestock, sometimes you lose one or more and for anyone whose never lost one yet congrats but dont get to thinking it can never happen to you. I'm glad yall found the calf in the end!
animal loss happens for sure....it will happen again, we've been very blessed to have healthy animals and a very low loss rate
@StoneyRidgeFarmer also he was our first ever loss, so i was a bit overwhelmed tbph
Hey Josh, I'd call that one Lucky.
no doubt!!
The ending I was hoping for, my 1st thought was Coyotes.
Mommas don’t lose or neglect their babies, unless the calf is sick or it’s a bad momma. Mommas don’t call for sick calves or if they are a bad momma.
When moving cows, if a calf is not with its mom, leave mom behind so she can nurse and protect her baby.
Hey Josh thank you for the video and I'm happy that baby cow found her mother woo
Josh glad you found the calf nice ending you and buddy keep doing your thing from northern ohio
Thanks 👍
brilliant xx
Turn the cow back into the old pasture, she will lead you to the calf.
keep on watching brother! You'll be surprised !
We had this happen looked everywhere couldn't find calf so decided to let out mom follow her and right to calf she went and where calf was we had been by it a handful of times and didn't see it so grabbed calf and she follow us and the calf back to the pasture she was suppose to be in
You should use heat tracker on your drone
$10,000 for that technology! Pricey stuff
@@StoneyRidgeFarmer I had no idea???
@@StoneyRidgeFarmer I thought it was just an added benefit that you could purchase with a drone
Yesss!!!❤❤❤
Shit happens all of the time. Nature being what it is dictates how things go and no one could or should be held accountable. I have worked on farms all of my life and been through this too many times. only time will tell.
keep on watching....you'll get a pleasant surprise!
I have a feral cat that lives in my house with me, Miss Midnight. When her kittens were two days old, they needed my help and mum knew it. She LET me take them! She had been very protective of them, getting mad at me when I got to close before, but, this morning it was just different. She actually stood back and watched as I took them. She knew. Mum didn't want to be inside, however. Later that day, I heard Miss Midnight outside looking for her kittens. I still had them and I didn't want to bring them back out, so I lured mum in with food. She got the pleasure of having the door slammed shut in her face after she came in. But, once I showed her that 'I still got your kittens here' she quieted down and was like 'bring them to me!' As soon as I put one down next to her, Miss Midnight rolled over so the kitten could nurse while I brought the rest of them to her. I promised Miss Midnight that once she was fixed, she could leave if she still wanted to. Miss Midnight knows where she is safe. She never even asked to go outside. But, yes, mum will get upset if she loses her kids, just like we would. I'm so glad that your story also ended well. It was a good thing I went out when I did...if I had gone out maybe five minutes earlier, I might not have been aware of what was going on. She had moved three of her kittens onto the patio. I went inside to grab a container (I used a 7-11 polystyrene cooler). I held them against me to warm them up (they were soaked and COLD) and put them in the cooler to help them keep warm while I figured out what to do next (I never had to do a kitten rescue before). I was so glad when I caught mum and had her taking care of them (who is better than their actual mum). It's been almost 4 years now since that day...Miss Midnight still lives here and is loving it more than she loved her outdoor life. But, I've noticed that with the ferals...all of a sudden, one day they didn't show up. Then show up the day after like nothing happened.
Don't mind him, just goin' on adventures.
lol
Praise the LORD!
Calving is when chunks of ice break off at the terminus, or end, of a glacier. Ice breaks because the forward motion of a glacier makes the terminus unstable. We call these resulting chunks of ice “icebergs.” Icebergs can be BIG.
If a calf falls from a glacier when it breaks how does one say that?
Why don't you see if you can get the boy scouts or some organization to help you search the woods? They're always looking for something to do.
Sorry if you lost them
bhahhahha...getting any young person to help is as rare as hens teeth these days my friend
I bet she had it laid down hiding and when you moved them it got left behind? I've done it, but my pasture and numbers are very small compared to yours so I found her pretty quick.
That's Indiana Calf!😂
This is part and parcel of animal husbandry. If raising cattle from cows to calves you will experience joy to grief.
You will also see monstrosities. Like calves with two and half back legs. It is very sad. I experienced this before I was 14 years old.
40 years later I’m tree farming. Farming for nuts. An acre of macadamia nuts yields the same income of ten acres of grass and cattle. Trees don’t cause trouble and provide shade on a summer day.
yeppers...some like crops and some like animals...I'm more into animals, however stay tuned we're heading out to plant a ton of trees in a future vid!
Great ending
Thanks man I was so worried
Geez !! How can you see/find anything out there with DARK Sunglasses ON,,, Lol.
go try on a pair of Oakley Prism lenses....you'll be pleasantly surprised. Tell ya why I wear shades 99% of the time. I was flashed burned by an electrical arc when I was 19 years old...this eye injury caused my eyes to be much more sensitive to light and I have a higher propensity for loosing my eyesight, cancer in the eyes and cateracts...so I wear sunglasses all of the time. That's why you'll rarely see me without them
I'll "LOOK" into that, thanks for the explanation😎 @@StoneyRidgeFarmer
201 is a good momma!
Where the red fern grows.
No drone? Black cattle should stand out on that landscape.
burried in the brush on a mountainside is tough to see brother
JOSH BLAME IT ON THE DONKEY
Lost one in the creek once while on jury duty.
Calf will stay put till mom comes to get it
sometimes
🌹🌹❤🌹🌹
You count everytime you move them and make sure you don't miss any...
sometimes easier said than done during calving season
#401 for ever.
U can squeeze the front brake and start that Honda in gear
yeppers...thank you...appreciate that
Do we “like” a video like this? I know how the algorithm works just hard to like a video like this one. I hate seeing animals suffer etc.
no animal suffered....however.....we are animals, we suffer....I suffer, dogs suffer....cows suffer. We all have ups and downs in life. Whether our suffering is missing a loved one or being hungry, even being sore from the gym could be considered suffering. If you watch to the end.....you'll understand the joy of a calf returning! Easy to go through life thinking that everything is some "hack" to get you to watch....but in reality, this is farming/ranching and sometimes we have to search for our animals when they get lost. EVERYONE AND EVERY BEEING ON THIS EARTH WILL SUFFER....IT'S JUST PART OF REAL LIFE MY FRIEND.....We are all so sheltered from this in our daily lives of work, grocery store, home, TV and chores. We don't know about plants, animals, seasons and are sheltered from life and death....so when something like this happens....we're totally blindsided with emotions when it's just a simple reality....we'll all suffer and eventually go back to dirt. Lesson in this video is to NEVER LOSE HOPE and ALWAYS TRY TO DO YOUR BEST....When your best isn't good enough...try harder! Right?
@@StoneyRidgeFarmer I’m on your side I get it 100 percent my comment was more rhetorical than anything
It was ALIENS!!
Count when beginning the move & after.
yep...in a perfect world my brother....problem was I moved the cows across the farm right at dark...and I couldn't get a proper head count on the calves.....thank goodness it all worked out despite the calf that was left behind for a few days
Happy ending to video
Love you man. Were was she?
hiding somewhere in the brush
More to the story?
Woo Hoo.
If you brought mom over would it respond to her calls? Do calves call out if lost or injured?
typically we'd have mom and the calf calling to each other....but this little calf was not responding...I hope you watched to the end!
Let her go see if she can find it. They ;will.
Your calf's can walk under the electric fence, could have wandered into adjacent pastures.
