I am building one now and fixing to start wiring shortly. Like you said it appears to be well thought out build. Just wished you had started sooner with it. Keep up the good videos they are a lot of help.

Hi Roger, using your exelent videos as guide. At this point in time, I realized that distance between the two gantry plates are 1002mm and I need to go back and adjust one of the sides 😢 would have been good with a tip to meassure distance earlier

Boy! This sure looks like a lot of fun to build. I still need to rebuild my router with the longer rails I got for it. I am seriously thinking of rebuilding it using aluminum extrusions instead of the MDF plywood I used (although it is pretty sturdy). I was surprised that you can just pull the axis' back and forth instead of having to turn the ball screws.

Thanks for this Roger. I ordered one at the inconvenient time of Chinese New Year, so it's taking forever to ship, but I'm looking forward to it. It's replacing an open builds machine with plastic V wheels and a single C-beam extrusion for the gantry, which was woefully rubbery. How rigid would you say this new gantry beam configuration is? Has anyone added some weight on top with a dial indicator underneath? It sure looks robust, but I'm not a structural engineer. Anyone have one built, willing to do some testing? I'd say a good test would be to put a dial indicator on the underside of the spindlemount and push down hard on the spindle.
