We have a basement, main floor, and upstairs with 3 split systems in a fairly large home. I bought 1 ecobee standard and 2 Smart+ including 2 sensors each. I don't understand why the Thermostats don't have an option to switch from main sensor to bedroom sensors at night. Maybe turn off the main thermostats sleep function so it only senses during the day and use the room sensors during sleep? Are the room sensors occupancy or time (sleep) sensed, and is there a timer function? Thanks for the video!
It was because it was too big of a hassle to install the smart thermostat upstairs. i would have had to run all new wires. Due to some new constructions this was the best way. With the smart sensors though it makes no difference.
I just wish they had a 1 pack, the way my house is set up, the thermostat is in the perfect position for all my other rooms/bedrooms except my master bedroom, would just be wasting $100 on what could be $50
Wow, appreciate the clarity! I never knew how to configure the sensors! Now, it’s clear! Big thanks!
thanks for the help. Works like a charm. Charge your phone!
Thank you for the video, i apreciate it

They do, maybe they didn’t 9 months ago but I just both them and they do now
Do you recommend these and are they better than the main sensor on the devic
Did you peel off the clear film on the front of the sensor?
Great video! If I have a 1 bedroom apartment do I only need 1 sensor as the ecobee also acts as a sensor I assume?
Correct, your thermostat is a built in sensor as well. It'll take a reading.
does the ability to disable the basement sensor or comfort levels work with all Ecobee models ? which model do you use ?
I believe any of the smart models by ecobee you can disable the sensor once you have another connected
Good video. Here in the U.S the thermostat is on the main floor unless you have 2 ac units. Weird that yours is in the basement.

20 degrees 🥶
When we set this sensor, the furnace and AC unit will turn On and Off based on them?
Yes when they are linked you can have it reading off of the sensors temp
so why even bother installing one in the basement...
20 degrees? Oh wait we use Fahrenheit
