That's cool! I like the festive red color. I read a DIY article on how to make one of these. This one's easier although the article called for a really small pvc pipe with drilled drain holes to be placed in the center so that all the strawberries could be watered evenly. Again, using your potted method is easier and the center watering pipe is just a bonus plan. Thanks for sharing your great idea! Cheers! 😊

You should have kept the pvc white, more light reflection and more light for plants.
Plants don't absorb light from the undersides of leaves
how to draw hole?i mean what angle how many hole should be straight?i think two on straight then upper two in complete opposite direction!
for people that don't know, PVC pipe is only toxic when it is being made. once it is made its not toxic any more.

Is PVC safe to grow food in? I was going to make a few and someone said it is not safe.

Fertilizer burns roots? but surely its going to come into contact with them through the soil?
it doesn't hurt the roots when it's not directly in a contact with them. Once it's melted a spread in the soil and water, it's not as concentrated ;-)

When you heat the inner core of PVC past the protective film it releases a carcinogenic chemical, you might want to use another material. Workers in PVC factories used to develop cancer from the heating of the product when not properly ventilated.

I think the holes should be smaller, or put some kink of liner to kip the dirt from fallen out.

The PVC and the paint are very toxic.
So are the store bought fruits and vegetables
Pvc is innert. That's why they can use it to deliver water to your kitchen sink....
pvc is not innert, when in contact with some chemicals (fertilizer) they can release phthalates that are toxic for us.
Cant believe he sprayed the paint around his garden with the wind blowing it all overt ther plants.

@HomeHandyHints, the herb tower looks very good and pretty, however PVC is toxic and leaches chemicals when put under heat/sunlight (the spray paint as well). Just fyi- look for safer plastics that are chemically inert and more suitable for growing food, i.e. high density polyethelene

roland sequeira: Hole saw, and to use in PVC, start clockwise until make the mark, then turn counterclockwise. I learned from a YT. I made more than a 100 hole.
