A lot band have Dream Theater like reference, inspiration. Rock N' Roll this is the problem: have a lot band copying another and another and we don't have something new in the scene. We need cried something original not just reference and copy. This is great band they have hability to do own song. Thanks Transcend great music.
The music is so freakin' incredible. Reminds me of 'old' Dream Theater / Liquid Tension Experiment. Still having a hard time listening to the vocalist though. Musically speaking, this is amongst THE BEST pieces I've heard in recent years.

With that being said, my problem with Costa is that he's not a very good singer. In fact, he's the worst singer I'm listening to in general. He's got a great voice, but it trembles alot and I for one think he doesn't use it properly enough. Nothing a few years of 'voice development' can't fix. I hope that if/when Transcend decide to release a 2nd album, they'd tend to this problem as I believe I'm not the only to have this opinion, either by improving Costa's singing ability, or adding a lead vocalist to replace Costa, leaving him with the guitar alone
IHateEliranAtar I totally agree with all you say. It´s just that for me the instrumentals are the most important and as his voice is great the lack of technique didn´t really bother me. Ofc it can´t stay like that, I´m pretty sure his/the bands aspiration is higher than what we heard, so I´d guess they work on it somehow. But you´re the expert, I just discovered them today ;) I hope that he improved, enjoyable vocals are rare for me.

Like I said, after a while, I've grown accustomed to Costa's voice and it doesn't bother me as it did before, but I still maintain that this needs to be changed. Glad we're agreeing on that :) I also put a greater emphasis on musicianship rather than vocals and lyrics (especially lyrics). I listen to Division By Zero and their lyrics are awful. Musicianship and vocalist are top notch, but seriously, awful, awful lyrics. I don't mind that one bit. On some rare occasions though, lyrics are really doing the whole album for me, like on Ayreon's The Human Equation for instance.
It really makes me sick when bands this amazing are unknown by everyone. Most people prefer "mainstream" bands instead of extremely intelligent artists such as this. Any music is art, just like any painting or poetry is art.. But unfortunately nearly all incredible art is ignored or trashed by people who dont understand or take the time to really appreciate the more amazing aspects of true artists..
saying "True art" is a really oxy-moronic statement. The value of art is unique in the mind of every individual. I really like the work of Zdzislaw Beksinski, does my appreciation for it make it true art? Not any more so than the work of jackson pollok which I totally don't understand. What I'm trying to say is, "Don't be pretentious and knock other artists because it's not what appeals to you" it's these attitudes that ruin perception of art in general.
