Trailer looked fun. Aquaman looks pretty decent too. Really wish DC would’ve started their movie universe with these films instead of jumping the shark with Justice League.

Outselling superman is always a big deal,but it was a HUGE deal at the time because back then in the 40s or 50s,batman wasnt that popular,spiderman wasnt even invented and supes was the king of superheroes To me shazam is a really interesting character because he is basically spiderman with superman's powers. You have all the things that makes peter parker relatable and interesting,but you also have all the things that makes superman cool and awesome.
Knight Warrior I didnt even knew Marvel had a Captain Marvel until i saw EMH (Spoilers its a boring character) They even had the HYPOCRISY to say that DC was ripping THEM off just because of the Name

It was never confirmed that Mary is unrelated in the new 52. It’s likely that she is related to Billy because in the original comic and during the Power of Shazam comic they didn’t know they twins until later. Mary in New 52 is very likely still his twin sister

I found your "Know Your Universe" videos extremely helpful when I jumped into the world of comics knowing very little, mostly stuff I learned from the 90's cartoons I watched as a kid. I had a friend who would explain backstories and such, but my tastes differed from his, so the information I got was skewed to his favorites and not mine. Also, I love details about these characters from their beginnings until now. After a number of years, it still surprises me when I come across characters I knew next to nothing about. Shazam, for instance, is one.
Billy Batson/Captain Marvel is one of my favorite fictional characters of all time. One thing I would actually like to see is Billy and his siblings get older... I would also like an established timeline of *when* he got his powers. Like, is he as old as Dick Grayson? Because originally in around 1987 and so, Jason Todd was Robin and Billy was around. Then Tim became Robin and he got older while Billy seemingly never ages at all
There was also the kid-targeted series Billy Batson & The Magic Of Shazam that was sadly canceled just as it found the perfect writer/artist team. I think it works better for kids because it's basically a kids fantasy. You get the benefits of being a kid AND the benefits of being an adult. As for another Know Your Universe topic I'd like to see one on Firestorm. After seeing him on Superfriends as a kid I picked up my first Firestorm comic (not my first comic mind you) and really liked it.

First of, it’s great you brought this series back, if anything, we can touch back on characters that have gotten changes in the resent past. And like you, I have my hopes up for Shazam, this is character that needs to be on comics, as Static Shock and many others that just fade away
I'm glad my boy got a movie. He is my favorite character in DC. I love the suit they gave him in the new 52. The gold and the red. I like it waaaaay more than the MOS suit. The lightning bolt on his chest looks so dope with lightning actually able to come off. Also the Shazamily suits have cool colors even though Mary marvel has the same color as bully instead of just a white variation of the suit.
Still think they should of called him Captain Thunder and Freddie Freeman can be called Captain Lightning because if he isn't Captain Marvel we can't have a Captain Marvel Jr. They can also make Captain Huricane for Pedro, Captain Nimbus for Eugene.
I'd love to see Know Your Universe come back. I'm not sure who I'd want to see next, but I didn't get to read comics as a kid very often, so Know Your Universe was always a great way to get a better idea of characters' backgrounds as well as be introduced to some really cool characters I'd never even heard of before or knew nothing about. I am so game for this series to return!

About time they bring Shazam back. I was talking to my bff months ago about Shazam and that DC should do a comic for him. Then the other day got I saw the news and I was so excited. I have fate in Geoff Johns and this character. Crazy to start to read the comic.
I was so hyped when I saw the Shazam Trailer looks great in my opinion I feel like Zachary Levi is gonna do a great job playing shazam and maintain that sort of comedy feel it looked like they were going for in the trailer while still being able to make shazam look super badass oh also super glad know your universe is coming back love the series
