killer man! like it much. i got a 1976 300 weekender. middship twin 351 fords and straight shaft drive. i't is slower and not a "trailer all the time" kinda rig , but what a cadillac ride .even in rough seas. no jarring jolts . i pulled her out 2 years ago after a good 7 year run . thinking of replacing 351's with 1800 goldwing engines and stern jets. shave off running gear and add drop rudder for steering under coast. this thing is a perfect size for families. can sleep 4 comfortable but could pack it like the Nario boat lift if needed. we had some awesome times on this boat. that's her in the thumbnail by my name. tampa bay.

Awesome boat! Boats are a bigger thing than old cars in the area I live in, I'm surrounded by lakes! Barren river lake to my west, Lake Cumberland to my east, Green river lake to my north and Dale Hollow lake just south of me! and I've never owned a boat but my Dad has had many and I've practically grew up on the lakes! Great video! Thanks for sharing!

Thank you for coming along! The next hundred videos will probably take a lot longer than the first hundred… but they’ll be along eventually.

Nice! I’ve got at least one Mopar buddy down there. I was actually in the neighborhood recently bailing a ‘71 Fleetwood I sold out of impound… that was fun. Yes I’m a life long PNWer - pretty sure I’ve got rain water in my blood. Maybe a little moss. Haha.

That thing needs a name, Phillip seems to suit it.

Naming it was a point of contention. For one thing, I found a name on some notes in one of the drawers, but I didn’t like it and it isn’t written on the boat so I decided it was fake. I was going to give it a name, but then we decided it wasn’t big enough to deserve one. I like Phillip. Haha.

Two happiest times in a man’s life. When he gets his first Boat, and when he sells it…

I’ve heard that many times, but actually the happiest I’ve been (with the boat anyway) was hanging out at anchor on that beautiful lake. I’m so well adjusted to the constant disappointment of classic cars, I was pretty much built to deal with the boat. Haha.

It's not a Mopar, it's a Sea Ray. Or it's a Volvo. Really it's a Chevy. Whatever it is, it's the best way I know of to spend a lazy afternoon.

Cool old Sea Ray! I have a bit of a soft spot for the old 70's Sea Rays, especially the old hardtop 240's. Those old hulls are built like tanks and are probably literally bulletproof from the amount of glass they laid up in them. I combined my love of old boats and old mopars in one boat, a 1973 Century Resorter 16 with an original Chrysler marine LM318 225 HP inboard. It's like riding in an old muscle car convertible on the water! 😁th-cam.com/video/4hQw0mcDodA/w-d-xo.html

That’s awesome! Some day, I really want a small block powered jet boat. Over transom headers, tunnel ram, the whole bit. The SeaRay is an awesome boat. It boogies, and it rides really nicely. I haven’t had it in the water yet this year… I hope to soon.

@@DeadDodgeGarage Part of what makes your old SeaRay ride so well is the heavy solid fiberglass hull. The later models with the lighter cored hulls don't have the mass to flatten out the waves. My little 16' Century has a solid glass hull and tips the scales at just under 2800#, way heavier than any modern 16' boat. Don't feel bad about not getting in the water yet, I haven't splashed my Century yet this year either, work and life has been getting in the way. 😟 Hope to change that soon!
Once on plane, my old Resorter has the true muscle boat sound. The factory exhaust is dual 3" copper pipes all the way to the transom with no mufflers. Here's a small sample of it's bark right after I reinstalled the engine after replacing the floor. The reverse rotation marine 318's have a unique cadence in the exhaust.. th-cam.com/video/qSAZfWFfrmQ/w-d-xo.html
