I would love to own a bird one day. Not necessarily a parrot, but I really like pigeons, doves and chickens. Also, Gypsy and Gizmo are beautiful birds.
Okay but can we talk about how great it is that you actually leave the screaming in to show people the honesty of owning parrots. They are noisey pets it's how they express themselves so it's great you actually show this side of owning birds so people can be honest with themselves before bringing one home
I'll just point out that you see a very minimum of the care that goes into having a bird in Tyler's videos. Not that his care isn't fantastic, because it is, but bear in mind that birds are a full time pet and require a lot of work, just please do your research!
Check "mikey and mia" on youtube, great youtube channel, you can see what a day in the life of a bird pet owner looks like. It's a huge commitment that I would say 95% of people can't deal with, that's why they don't make good pets. Adopt one if you are willing to get one, they get re homed so much.
Parrots especially tend to basically always use the top of the cage because being higher up feels safer, so putting a bunch of stuff in the bottom is normally not necessary😊
I looked after an Amazon Green and a Hans Macaw for 2 weeks while a friend was on holiday. Funny thing is both birds became far to attached to me and it took my friend weeks to win their efection back lol. I would love to own an African Grey but sadly don't have the time 😢 . Awsome cage 👌
gypsy: *just wants scritches and to be picked up* tyler: ...i don’t know what to do with this i can’t, i love parrots so freaking much, this video made me laugh so much 🤣❤️
You take such good care of your baby birds!! They are clearly so loved and it makes me so happy to watch your videos about parrots! Thank you for sharing them with us 🙏💕🎊
I used to frequent my local bird rescue almost every week to visit with the birds (they can't have volunteers for liability reasons so people who come and visit the birds are really helpful) and I encountered a lot of birds with pretty serious issues due to being cared for improperly in their former homes. I met a 35 year old amazon who had been on dowell perches his whole life and had arthiritis in one of his feet and could barely use it. It just warms my heart to see someone who takes such good care of birds physically and emotionally.
I cut my own natural wood perches for my lovebirds. I generally use clipped branches from beech trees or clipped bittersweet vines, both of which are bird-safe. my lovebirds LOVE the vines b/c i can wind and twist them thru different areas of the cage to make them like a lil jungle gym, they run and hop and flit and fly from branch to brance, its adorable. (they are just 2 lil lovebirds and they have a flight cage that is probably about the size of gizmos old cage (20 wide x30 long x40tall) so they have lots of room to be able to put lots of vines and still have them be able to fly from one area to another. might be a little harder to cut your own branches big enough for a large parrot tho . lovebirds are so light they can rest on pretty much any size stick or vine or twig i bring in lol
I love the cage but I would just say that you should be careful with the threads because there could be the risk that your bird gets a cloth impaction of it gets stuck in loose threads. Also you should get more shredding and foraging toys to mimic what they would do in the wild.Last make sure the diet is pellets 60%, veggies 30%, and fruits 10%.
Reminds me of last year when I got my Cockatiel and Green Cheek Conure big new cages they can fly in and spent solid half a day putting them together with my husband
My African Grey has a King’s corner cage and it’s great. The cage is gray like the ones in the video, which is perfect because so many cages are white or dark charcoal/nearly black, showing every speck of food, dander and poop. Gray cages are so much better at muting that. I didn’t realize it until I got mine.
Where did you find breeders for the smaller macaws or mini macaws? Most places are ify or look like scams. Any reputable breeder or someone you recommend for mini macaws?
My bird cage is out side in our backyard and my window is right there so I open my curtain and he always sees me is this bad should I bring his cage inside
@@historyandmusic8646 haha maybe! He's not loud all the time though (and he's very sweet). But every once in a while... Makes your ears want to fall off
I really do appreciate the fact that you want to upgrade your birds to bigger cages and put in a lot of work to make sure they are happy. That being said these cages are way too small for the size of birds you are housing, I would barely feel comfortable housing a cockatiel in one of those. I know you have different standards of care in the US but please, birds need a lot of room to fly and exercise. No matter how much time outside of the cage you provide that is no excuse to house them in small cages. Again I really do appreciate the fact that you want to provide a good life for your animals. I hope you can take this as constructive criticism and not hate.
They unfortunately don’t really sell cages much bigger than this here (from what I’ve seen) but I do think the time spent mostly outside of the cage is important! I’d love to keep them outside in an aviary but it’s just too cold most of the year where I live 😅
Thank you for being able to give this opinion without being rude or hateful, it's truly appreciated because some people are so rude. I really wish aviaries were more feasible in colder climates, as well
@@tylerrugge Try looking into the montana arkansas II, it should be available in the US and it‘s nice and big for a reasonable price. Other than that you could get a custom aviary made; I don‘t know what the prices are like in the US but here they usually end up the same or a cheaper price. I know the cage sizes seem unimportant when the bird is outside for most of the time but from my expirience it makes such a huge difference because even if they have be caged for a bit, they don‘t mind it as much and with more room in the cage, it stimulates them to fly more since they have the space :)
@@tylerrugge Thank you for being able to take criticism in such a graceful way, it really says alot about your character. We have the same problem with commercial cages here in Sweden. I am adopting my first bird in a couple of weeks, after years of actually working with birds. You have to learn how to work and build for yourself. I have found that it is actually cheaper, safer and sometimes even easier to build your own cages and aviaries than it is to buy them. As for it being too cold to keep them outside, here in Sweden it is most likely just as bad as you get it. The birds I work with still go outside and most of them freefly still. Of Course they are not outside as much as they are in the warmer part of the year but they can handle surprisingly low temperatures. Although macaws tend to be pansies when it comes to cold and even though they are fine they still like to complain as parrots do.
So I love looking at others birds, And I'm questioning how my 3 birds 2 of which look normal than my 3rd bird has White and Grey Feathers although hes said to be a blue bird and barely has blue?
Hey hon I love your channel you're so good with your birds.. I know a plucker parrot in need of a loving home I was wondering if you could help with any resources or advice!
no hate i love your birds but i can see that the cage toys are all at the top of the cage and its really crowded and at the bottom there are mostly no toys or purches so i i would recomend more purches at the bottoms and move toys from to top to the bottom :)
hiii does anyone know if birds of this noise level would stress out other reptiles/mammals if they were housed in the same room? asking for my own pets benefits 🙂

What size cage is the one for the severe macaw? Would a a cage of 63’h by 22”d by 26”w be big enough for a severe macaw?
Is hexagon shaped cage good for birds? Or are they used to square shaped cages?
