Roman’s contribution to this band was and is so underrated. I’m one of those weirdos that love both the captain sensible punk rock era of the damned and the energy he brings, but also can appreciate the intricate style of playing that Roman brought to the band. I catch The Damned every chance I get when they tour... it would be amazing if they could have a tour with both Captain and Roman on board!

If you look at his original stage clothes outside of his makeup it was jeans, tshirts, leather jackets, standard punk stuff.

As a 18 year old in '86 was at a musical crossroads I didn't really know what I was I had being a mod got bored with it then I saw Siouxsie and the Cure Bauhaus and remember seeing this video and I thought to myself hmm bleached the hair and hey presto Goth rocker saw the Damned twice in '86 class gigs 😎👍 ......

Back in 1985 or 86, I saw The Damned at Toad's Place in New Haven CT. Great show!!! Dave always reminded me of a vampire....he would be a perfect one and in fact was the inspiration of a character in a vampire novel I wrote many years ago(unpublished). LOVE this song by them!!!

Saw these guys in London about 1982 (the Hammersmith Odium if I recall) what a show, the first three rows were completely ripped out of the concrete buy the end of the show. Robert Fripp came out and did a few songs with them, what a show!!!!!

Saw them in the early 80’s, late 80’s and early 90’s in Los Angeles, Hollywood Bowl and the Palladium. Best shows ever. Such a great time to be young.
