I'm a long time viewer and I think one of the reasons that made me stick to your channel all those years are your heartfelt talk, wether it's a hole video of you just chatting about your life, or a simple touching comment during one of your roleplays, it's always a wholesome feeling to watch one of your videos, kinda like you're watching a friend talk to you. Happy birthday! Interestingly I have found great enjoyment again in your channel the past year or so, it's interesting in light of what you say about having sort of let go of the big expectations towards ASMR as a career. I find that feeling of letting go comes across very relaxingly.

That’s actually so nice that any child care is covered over there! In america we don’t get any childcare covered. Doesn’t even make sense for me to work, so I stay home with my kiddos. Good luck on all the changes 🎉

Sophie, we are always where we are supposed to be in life. you are young. You have plenty of time to start your career. I started as a flight attendant at age 35 at American Airlines. My mother got sick and I took two years off. I started at Southwest Airlines at age 53 and there are so many people that I know that start careers later in life, so you are not too old to make any dream that you have happen!!!! You are wonderful at this and we hope that you continue!!!!!!

You've got an excellent, mindset, Sophie! So many YTs mention how isolated and depressed they get because they're not involved in their community outside of running errands or going out for dinner etc. I"m so glad that you're safe from the stalking, as well.

Just here in solidarity to say I feel your pain in Canada!! We have some subsidized centres but the spots are very limited so we are in private paying about $900 CAD per month 🫠 Also makes buying a home difficult!! Cheers to us doing the best we can for our babes 💓

Don’t worry about starting in “real life” now, you already are! You’re a mom! I don’t think there’s anything more real than that. I know when you said that you were talking about work, but I think being a mom puts you on “real life”, by all means, right away.
I got my real first job, I mean related to my career, at 28. Now I’m 35, and I can assure you have a lot of time to develop yourself professionally. Even to change your direction again if you want. You’re not late at all.
I feel you when you talk about how goals in life change. For me it was like that too. Now I share with you that goal of having a family and have a simple and happy life, and I’ve struggled with people’s opinion, and with my own thoughts, about “what a mediocre goal for life”. Now I know it’s not like that at all, and even if it was, I don’t care, that’s what I want. I’m getting married this year and, hopefully, getting pregnant this year. I hope we both achieve that goal❤

Many have similar financial challenges in The States with child care, health care, and homes. If at least one person in a couple does not have a higher paying job and/or have affordable health care subsidized by an employer, sometimes having a child is not an option. I did some of the same financial analysis as you and arrived at a similar result. I hope that all improves for you this year.

Omg I went through a similar realization with acting years ago. I love to act, but everything else that came with it, the financial struggle, the constant hustle, the never ending rejection, feeling like a prop and not a person….it just wasn’t worth it. I became much happier when I followed a different career path and just did it here and there for fun. I’m sure at some point in your life you’ll be able to act for fun again without all the hardship that comes with making it a profession! Been following your channel for years now and just hope you do whatever the hell makes you happy 💕

We don’t even get subsidized childcare in the US. We can get childcare assistance if our total household income is below a certain threshold but it’s very low.

You're my favorite ASMRtist and I think it sucks that your videos aren't viewed enough for this to be a viable living income for you. I think since you have a family and are going back to a more conventional job, you shouldn't worry about a schedule anymore and just post things when they're ready and great. Less pressure and it'll allow you to do what you want to do. A lot of ASMRtist aren't doing three videos a week anymore anyways. Hell, Gentle Whispering and Gibi are only doing one video now!
