Jackie mentions knowing of V and even he thinks it's weird they'd never formally met. Though it's not too odd. Misty also mentions knowing of Jackie and only barely meeting him a year before the events of the game. Considering Jackie is a former Valentino who was the son of a Valentino, chances are that a good 98% of his friends and acquaintances are Valentino's, which V and Misty are not.
@@MandalorianRevan Misty knew Jackie during childhood, but only started dating about a year before the events of 2077. Heywood is considered a district where everyone knows everyone. For V to have lived there most of their life, while also knowing most of everyone at the El Coyote Cojo, including Padre, Pepe, and Mama Welles, it is extremely bizarre for V to only put two and two together when Jackie mentions his last name.
The first time I got that jacket from the Aldecaldos it put tears in my eyes. It was a rough time for me, and that simple little thing - even if it was only on the screen - helped get me through it. Probably my favourite game of all time.
As im watching the vid, minor correction act 24:20. Johnny wasn't part of the Nuke team at all. He was the diversion team so Blackhand could plant the nuke(the presence of the roof fight in Johnny's memories is likely just so they could more effectively probe the engram for information regarding the attack) Edit: another correction around 1:26:03, thats not Boa Boa, Boa Boa is Crispin "Squama" Weyland's father. Squama is who we see in game
Yeah. Mike Pondsmith says that Johnny is an unreliable narrator at best, but here his memories are fragmented because of the damage he took. Also, he wasn't shot by Smasher on the roof. He was shot inside Arisaka when he tried to shoot Smasher with his revolver - his latest Malorian as powerful as an antitank firearm. It didn't work, but it gave Shaitan the opportunity to tackle Smasher. Smasher fought Blackhand on the roof, and he was using a DaiOni body. Plus, Spider was the one who used Soulkiller on Johnny's body during the raid.
@CustomSet101 i know, its wild that V is given this version of events and because they realistically could never know what really happened without speaking to someone alive who was there
Chapter markers are possibly the best small feature TH-cam have ever introduced. I always design my videos into chapters and get really annoyed when long videos (I guess can depend on the topic though) don't have chapters 😂.
I feel like there should have been an ultimate anarchist Johnny ending, to nuke the Arasaka Tower a second time, and then V ends up "all over the place" just like Brendan's joke.
Not long ago I finally finished the storyline and ran through 4 of the endings. What a great experience it was. Thanks to Sam bram for all these videos
I absolutely love these types of videos. As many times I've played through cyberpunk, it never gets old how good this game is. Sam, keep doing what you're doing, and I hope you get 200k soon. 😊
I'm only 4mins into the video and already learned some useful info. I had no clue about all that with Jackie and his mom as Streetkid. I never played that one. Interesting how much of that one lifepath leaks into the others though. That actually is helpful info and explains quite a bit that you still go through in the other lifepaths, like Jackie's mom telling you how you lived with them - I had no clue.
I've played Cyberpunk 2077 for almost 1k hours and done all endings - even the secret one and the Phantom Liberty ones - with five different V's, (perhaps even more if we consider deleted saves) and yet I already know I'm going to play this video in the background while I game/work multiple times in the future. Great work Sam!

Great to hear your dulcet voice discussing Cyberpunk again. It's been a while. Its probably going to get me to have another go at the game. Have to say I wish they had added more to the prologue of all three paths to give us more of a feel what it is like to be a Corpo/Street Kid or Nomad or to give us more than just a very brief call back with three side quests which aren't that detailed (although I will say the follow up Corpo quest does give you details about Abernafy which makes you realise your boss, psychopath that he was, wasn't wrong in trying to take her out).
Amazing content as always! The fact that the story itself is this good, even without the fantastic side quests just proves what a masterpiece this game is!!

For aquiring the flathead bot, maybe I missed it in the video but isn't there an ending where you remove the virus from the datashard and give it to Maelstrom while letting them know Militech is onto them peacefully? This results in Militech attacking the compound instead and you fight alongside Maelstrom to get out.
Thanks choom. I’ve got about 70 hours in the game and I needed a recap for sure after maxing out and doing most of the side quests 😂. Normally I tend to stick to the main quest first in these kind of games but I kept getting side tracked. I have about 4/5ths of the NCPD markers done too. I have to force myself to stop doing them. Currently on the Corpo missions, your recap was in the perfect order for me. Let’s finish this.
I honestly think Corpo V is the best option. Its the only background that really sold me on the friendship between him and Jackie, and gives you a lot of insight into the "behind the curtains" of the corporations
"I'm not saying feel free to beat Fingers within an inch of his life, but I am saying that you're no longer locked out of specific Ripperdoc inventory by doing so."
Cyberpunk 2077 has one of the best stories I have experienced in a video game, but something that always surprises me on new playthroughs is how short the main story is. It seems like you go from doing the job for the Voodoo Boys to meeting Hanako in no time at all, it almost feels like there should be some additional quests between M'ap Tann Pelen and Nocturne Op55N1 that were cut.
I'd imagine a lot fell on the cutting room floor for the original game and it does feel much shorter compared to the Witcher 3. I think they did well balancing the finished product with the time they had though
Nah Witcher 3 had a better story. Trying to remove a chip from your brain is not better than a father trying to search for and rescue his adopted daughter.
As for endings, my headcanon is that DftR is what actually happened, while other endings happened... in V's head. The minutes spending waiting for the DftR options to show up is not just Johnny cooking, but also V considering other paths, and imagine how will each of them go down. And suffice to say, every single one of them have a few bitter notes: The Devil: Corpos are corpos, hence will probably focus more on the eternal internal power struggle than saving V's life (thus "Hanako has already forgotten about you"). Also, helping a corp to this extent will likely goes against Johnny's and V's sense of morality (thus Johnny scolding V, and the most pessimistic ending before PL). The Sun: Asking Rogue to reenact the 2023 raid will just be that, reenacting. So it's once again entry from air (just not the top this time) and dropping something down below (but this time the bomb is Alt). Then the ending gets reenacted as well: someone is lost (Rogue this time). Also, giving Johnny control when Relic overwrite is almost done can be a concern, so this is the end where Johnny get to choose who gets the body. The Star: To put it simply, Johnny's arguement that "tarmac rats" are no match for corpo army could be true, thus the high body count during this ending, up to and including Aldocaldo leadership in the form of Saul. The Tower (if available): This involves using an AI that is not Alt, AKA an AI nobody knows, thus unpredictable. Things can go wildly wrong without anyone being able to tell how and why. Even if the AI stays true, NUSA is still kinda shady. As a result, this ending becomes arguably the wildest ending path, in which everything changes radically. And seeing V unable to decide "which of your friends get to die" (which makes sense from Johnny's perspective. He sees the Devil as a total no-go and had to be reminded of the Tower, leaving only the "friend dies" endings in his thoughts), Johnny points out that they can always just cut the knot: "You, me, and Arasaka tower..."
I think there's portions of each ending that can be canon regardless of V's involvement, which could allow CDPR to not have to specify how exactly the story ends. For example: During the "Nomad" ending, V uses a NightCorp-built tunnel to break into Arasaka Tower as it just so happens to go directly underneath it. In the "Sun/Don't Fear The Reaper" ending, however, Mr. Blue Eyes claims that during your raid his people raided Arasaka Tower as well. If he does in fact work for NightCorp, then it stands to reason that they used the very same tunnel as you did in the "Nomad" ending to infiltrate. With that in mind, it's possible that regardless of what ending you choose NightCorp will raid Arasaka Tower regardless. Other examples could be the Aldecaldos leaving Night City, the Crystal Palace heist, and Soburo Arasaka's "resurrection"
I've always found it so interesting that the corpo life path, out of all three, is the only one where you and Jackie are already friends. You'd think it would be Streetkid if it could only be one of them, but nope! I guess having you already have a close friendship is the only way they can think of to justify Jackie being friends with a little corpo weasel

@@SamBram Agreed, and considering the state of Cyberpunk at launch, it could have been a lot worse. The story was always one of its better aspects.
And suffice to say, every single one of them have a few bitter notes:
The Devil: Corpos are corpos, hence will probably focus more on the eternal internal power struggle than saving V's life (thus "Hanako has already forgotten about you").
Ya know what, ima buy it
Cyberpunk will never die 🗣️
A thing of beauty, I know, will never fade away...
Que in Never Fade Away
I want to marry this man and all of his videos
Quibble: They're not persued by security in the Nomad opening, it's an Arasaka retrieval team (since the Iguana is Arasaka property).
