    My father was born in Den Bosch and my mother used to walk to Den Bosch from Lith. Nowadays I can't afford to buy a house in Den Bosch. It is clear that the gem is not hidden.

      Oh yes… the housing market in The Netherlands as a whole is going through a crisis..
      Are you from The Netherlands yourself?

      There is also a housing crisis in the UK and other developed countries unfortunately. The politicians are too scared to take on the horrible and greedy landlords. 😢

    The Cathedral is not "still in use", but was given back to the papists by Napoleon Bonaparte at around 1800. Before that time, it was closed, sometimes used as prayer house, in the period popery was prohibited by our ancestors. This prohibition was enforced, since 's-Hertogenbosch was conquered by the Dutch, under Prince Frederick Hendrick(1629).

    Nobody calls it "het Marktplein" but just "de Markt". It is not a square but a triangle.
    And it will never be St. John's Cathedral because 1) there is no " 's" because it is a name and not an ownership and 2) it is Sint Jan Cathedral. When you are a John, you are not all of a sudden a Jan in The Netherlands, a Jean in France or a Juan in Spain. Therefor the Notre Dame is called the Notre Dame and NOT Our Lady. All to do with respect that not everything is American or in English. Names do not translate.
    You mentioned the "Moerputten" as hidden gem but you forgot "The Bossche Broek" which is a nature reserve, attached to the city and the closest anywhere in the world, just alike the only city where you can take boat tours under the city.
    And may I suggest using a stabilator when you plan to make more videos. Nice video though.

      Your argument about the Jt. Jan is wrong on so many levels. It IS called St. John's Cathedral in English because it refers to one of the apostles namely "Johannes" or apostle John in English. Names DO translate, otherwise the name of the Cathedral should still be in Ancient Greek (because that's the original language the New Testament was written in).

      @@1951split completely agree, also on their point about the 's ending, that doesn't always convey ownership in English, sometimes it can mean the same as putting the word "of" at the beginning, so that's wrong too.

    • @AlexK-yr2th
      @AlexK-yr2th หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@1951split Its merely justification of the same. It is the Sint Jan. Period!
