Worst boss: "Mike told me to change this" Best boss: "Mike taught me why this needed changing". When you ask a colleague to change their work product, commit to then or later distilling the "here's why my instinct/experience said to intervene" into a crisp decision principle. That has two benefits: a) equips them to teach colleagues (esp important as you scale). But above that, b) if you can't do so, you're micromanaging; apologize and learn from that.
Law is now like medicine. Attorneys specialize in different areas much the same as doctors have specialties. Real Estate, Family Law, Personal Injury, Maritime, Wills/Trusts/Probate, to name just a few. Litigation is another area altogether. Personally, I want a lawyer that specializes - they will know more about the subject you need them for in the first place. More knowledge makes for a wiser decision in everything, not just legal issues.
Gotta be Nina & Rafi for Pizza, Pour Taproom, and the James Room. Nina & Rafi is bad pizza, keep your deep trash dish north of the Mason-Dixon. Antico all the way. Pour is a fun spot and worth visiting with friends from out of town. The James Room went from an intimate bespoke small plate and cocktail spot, think a super trendy H&F circa 2012, to another overpriced clubspot.
Our 11 and 7 year old like Clue, Catan (one of them has learned to hoard the ore), and Blockus (sort of a board game). Been trying to get them in Rummicube. Any recommendations?

@@AshleyRafi Okay then. Sorry to give y'all grief but here locally we've had perfectly good older homes ripped down for real estate developers to throw up massive apartment complexes.
@@zebedeesummers4413 understandable. I supposed I should have explained my perspective first.... I have a degree in architecture and had an interest in historic buildings and homes. Now, my issue is what has happened locally. My city *HAD* a historic neighborhood close to our university. However, landlords and real estate developers HATED that zoning overlay and did everything they could legally to get rid of these once beautiful homes (and these things were mansions, not shotgun houses) so that they could tear them down and build apartment buildings. So yeah, I'm not keen on destroying old homes if they can be saved, particularly with out bad new building construction has been. Folks can get an old home that is lovely on the outside and just need a rewiring and some renovation for the same price of a cheap, poorly constructed "McMansion" that developers will quickly throw up and hope the buyer doesn't notice the shoddy construction.
I never used to think podcasters actually needed high end mics, but the audio from this is atrocious. Especially hers for some reason? After 7 other episodes I would assume they could have gotten audio issues like this corrected?
I think you might be experiencing an auditory issue, @COMPUTERPHILE. Their audio sounds crisp, and clear, with no popping. Maybe adjust your EQ settings?

I definitely appreciate having an understanding of why I am wrong or why I shouldn't do something in a particular scenario.
I love watching this podcast - you both are great storytellers and I really enjoy the banter lol

great story, again. Love your elocution of both of you. Great example.Thanks.
Wow, you both are very candid. I can see a lot of people developing parasocial relationships with you, feeling like they know you.
Love watching your podcasts. You guys are so funny 😁
How you approach being a boss, makes you a great boss!
I cannot believe ole Duffy is out there still doing real estate. Crazy he took no responsibility for what happened in any of the situations.
Having worked for some bad bosses, Mike doesn't sound like that bad of a boss. Being willing to look at mistakes and make improvements sounds good.
Wait this might be the craziest(in a good way) neighbour story I heard 😂
You need your own radio show on Sirius
Wow Ash, a bit harsh review then to blame poor innocent and gentle Mike dishonor on you and dishonor onyour cow.
My girl says the same thing 😂😂😂
This was a great story. I’m a researcher by nature so I actually found the case. 😂😂😂
Don’t mean to call you out, but there was no case.
@@MikeRafiLawyerLMAO. Get him Mike.
@@MikeRafiLawyerThat definitely looked intentional.
Please link to this nonexistent case.

Oo, what board games do y'all play?

So my fishing teammate (not partner) will tell me, i am supposed to know what he is thinking before he tells me.
Must be the result of nurture and not nature.
Kinda see a pattern here.
I'm having an issue about y'all knocking down a house in order to build a new house. What was wrong with the previous house?
It was a very old home. Unfortunately it had structural damage and would have cost about the same to completely fix/renovate it.

@@thatjeff7550 I don't mean to be disrespectful but how else do you build dense housing where people will actually move in?
