Loved seeing John's garden again. The rambling feel of the garden with multiple places to sit and dine, surrounded by beautiful plants, is perfection.
Hi from Annie really loved weeing Johns garden again it is brilliantly flowing with plants makes one feel very relaxed walking thru it.
Jumped back on to say ... as a collector of blue and white... and broken dishes.... I use them with quick set cement to rim the top edge of my terra cotta pots... love the combination of the two for plants

Love all the blue in John's garden. Here in Texas, east of Dallas, we lost all our Indian hawthorne two years ago. Then this winter, we lost the ornamental cabbages, lorepedilems, and some baby boxwoods. The house is five years old and we have landscaped most of our beds three time! Hoping to make it through the heat and the cold with this round of plantings.

Wait... we're going to John's? Hold on while I make a cup of coffee.. be right back... Ok ready ... lets do this! Before we go.... when you were planting the lantana pots... I have noticed in the past few videos ,that there are small pots of something sitting in the urn with the potted tree behind you, that have not been planted. I watch for every video if they got planted . and still they have not. Is there a reason ? Sooooo ... back to Johns garden. Love his east porch so much. The collections on the mantel over the porch swing, the wicker and iron. And of course, I am a blue collector, so most of my pots are glazed blue and terra cotta. It has such a mediterranean feel to me. I am also all about the lion's tail on my limbed up trees. I love a canopy of foliage above my head.

I loved to hear that you tend to only include one type of plant per planter! That has always been my mantra. I have ventured out this year to have two types of plants per planter on the back patio and FOUR types on the front porch!

I'll always remember how I came to know about Lantanas. I was walking home from elementary school and there was this beautiful flower by the sidewalk - two different colors, yellow and orange, on the same stalk! I bent down and took a big sniff...and almost threw up. 😄

i love john ever since you visited his home the first time. it was because he showed that wonderful bookcase in his living room that i was able to put my lovely bookcase together in my bedroom.
And I love your backyard John, I too love the color. i need to put more blue in my back yard. I just wish I could have the little sitting areas like you do. Our yard is long and wide. So the Rose garden goes along the length of the back yard and the width its all lawn. I don't know how to enclose it. Yours is lovely. Thank you Linda for going back for another tour at Johns house. I’m a Lantana junkie! I plant them “in mass” on both sides at the entrance to my house. I love the vibrant colors. The deer and other critters keep away, and they look spectacular.
I was overjoyed to see John again! you are such good friends to each other. I really loved his comment about the LA vibe and having something to look at as a focal point. An English man that specializes in Japanese gardens called it the long view in a small space. There are many exemples of that at Wolerton Hall also.
I was so excited to see what you were going to do with the blank front yard when you move! Boy are you talented! I LOVE EVERYTHING you have done! The social patio looks great and your boxwood bushes and topiaries look fabulous! The urns should be a beautiful family. Love love the white and soft yellow lantana. I'm calling it Buttered Popcorn. The Nuttle Oaks are sure looking good. John's instinctual landscaping gives me license to be more free with my choices. It appears the choices are for longevity.and I like that.

Your trick of putting the plant and pot in and fill the soil around it is one I do also but I remove the plant, lay it gently aside and put the empty pots in the container. Then it is easier to see what you are doing while filing the soil and you don't risk breaking your plant when trying to fill around it. Great video and thanks for all you show us!

Really love the flower mix in the urns, especially the white/soft yellow lantana with the purple /grey /white tones. I prefer this soft yellow to the "in your face" yellow/black of the pansies..just a personal preference. Your beautifully landscaped home is an inspiration Linda, keep on digging!🦋🌿🌼🐝🍀

So many fun and wonderful ideas today in this video. I really like the plant selection you added to the urns on the steps. I already saw what you meant about the composition of the pansies versus the new plants when Steward went down the steps and you come see the different pots. I already like the new one better because of that. Also, thank you for the tour at John's garden. Please tell him I would like to see more of his garden and also at Christmas another tour.
