@@WildKatProspecting not that I've heard of. Everything I've seen from placer deposits is small flakes, flour, and maybe a tiny picker if you get lucky digging deep in an ancient glacier deposit. If you find someone that says different, get the exact location and call me when the water warms back up 👍

My Grandfather mined Cache Creek and was washed out by a flood in the 30's. Most of the boxes ended up in the Arkansas. Be mindful that Liquid Mercury still can be found...We panned there in 1972 most of the gold recovered behind the large rock in the River just below the creek entrance to the river.

It always works best to run your material good and wet, otherwise your gold will float right out because it is hydromorphic.
Just trying to help. I learned over the years of being here.
Just a little information. In about 1911 they shut down the hydraulic pumps at Cache Creek. The surface you see is 15 feet of old top soil that leveled out at the end of the large flumes. The gold they recovered was in the wooden sluices and ground sluices. Pickers were the size of pencil erasers. There's trout in the settling pond. People dig there because it's easier dirt. But it's tailings.
Locals says different. 🤷🏼♂️

I have watched alot of your videos. I decided to go to Murphysboro. The night I got there it rained a flood and I went the next day. I found a 4.87 near colorless. I sent it to new York to get papers. I just wanted to share it with u. I will send a picture if I can.

My uncle was looking to buy some property out in Arizona to get away from the rain here in Washington and he found 30 acres near a small creek which is hard to find cheap land by a creek, on his way out he seen some glitter shine on the side of the road a small hill going up, he just threw a bit of it in the back if his truck no bucket nothing, he panned it out and he got over a gram in like 15-20 shovels he told me he shoveled extra because he thought most would bounce out. Well needless to say he bought the land before they figired it out and ges waiting on permits for the machinery but he has been doing loads with his high banker and he's pulled out 6 ounces so far, Im going to head down and help him out here in a month. I work hard when Im on gold lol

A big mistake newbies make is to right away get a sluice and then never learn how to properly pan.

The only mistake you made was not getting all that dirt wet before you put it in your sluice half your gold could have floated away

I did not see a "creek loaded with gold" I saw paydirt bags with some gold. Kind of fishy that someone would leave 3 paydirt bags laying around. One MAYBE but not three.

You need less of a angle on your sluice box. To much angle and your gold just washes away. And it is better to shift your material slowly in your sluice as well. Good luck getting that color out of there.

10000 ft elevation should feel no different than the sun at sea level, seeing how the sun is 93 million miles away.
10000 ft compared to 9 million miles is practically non-existent
But I've been up 10000 feet in Colorado and have felt the difference.
It was 45 degrees and sunny I had on shorts and a short sleeve shirt wasn't cold at all.
