Huge thanks to Marieke … what a huge amount of work it must have taken to translate all of this! 💚 Thanks to your speed at translating all of this, I was able to participate in the Mol Spel and I got 23,420 points (which put me in 264,818th place, but since Rik said over a million people voted, that’s not terrible!). MAYBE SPOILERS BELOW…? . . . . . I agree that the choice of Mole was obvious. But for once the producers didn’t try to mislead you, so I suppose that makes it less obvious in a way? And yes, South Africa has been used a few times now-Belgium Season 5, France Season 1, Netherlands Season 13, etc.-but they used the location pretty well, so I don’t mind. I still crack up at Anke on the walkie-talkie in the rubber duck assignment: “Hello, my name is Anke. I live in the southwest portion of the Netherlands and I had a particularly unfortunate incident with my coffee this morning. My favourite colour is green and I’m a libra. And also, oh yes, just in case it means anything, don’t open the envelope.” 😂 Great fun! 😀
I want to thank the person subbing all the episodes of WIDM so everyone can enjoy the show internationally. I am a huge fan of the show, and I cannot even fathom how much work it must be to offer us the subtitles. And the subs are top quality too, so thank you so much. I loved this season. The mole was actually pretty obvious, but I really enjoyed this cast, and the winner was great, very smart and active. Season 18 is still my favorite, but this one was good as well (I mean this is the best show on tv, all the seasons are good)
SPOILERS Very unusual season! Strange that the mole was fairly obvious to the viewers, but so well hidden from the candidates. Despite many of us calling it for several weeks, Jurre did a great job!
I really enjoyed my first experience of De Mol! Such beautiful locations, high production values and wonderful filming. I loved it. Thank you for the translation! * * * * * * * * And pleased I guessed it correctly (although many others did too). Daniel was a well deserving winner and looked so handsome at the finale.
Marieke, THANK YOU so much once again for making it possible for all of us to enjoy Wie is de Mol! I am truly grateful for all of the work that you have done, and the time that you have spent over the years to make these translations available ❤❤❤
SPOILER ** I think that this was a great season, despite many people saying the Mole was too 'obvious'. All of the candidates (except for Daniël, of course) did not even suspect Jurre as the mole, which I think is the main goal. Yes, for us viewers it was rather 'easy' to spot, but don't forget we can endlessly rewatch and analyze and the candidates of course cannot do this. I loved how some of Jurre's actions are very brave and also risky for himself (describing his own outfit instead of the person). This denouement felt a little flat for me, mainly because it took 30 (!) minutes for them to reveal the mole, meaning there was little time to calmly speak about everything, which I like so much. Of course, Nabil's shovel-story was the best thing ever :)
Thanks, Marieka! . . . . . . I enjoyed the season and the finale despite the fact that the Mole was pretty obvious to most of the die hard fans. I did appreciate that the show acknowledged that the viewers figured it out and didn't pretend like it was some grand mystery. I wish the production had done a little better job hiding some of Jurre's mole actions during the season, but it's a tough balancing act. I give them credit for not inventing stories that didn't happen, as is often the case on other reality shows. Already looking forward to WIDM 24!
Thank you for ALL your hard work this season, plus the past 100 of course Marieke :) Again I'm absolutely stunned how this was up before I even had my lunch today! . .. ... .... ..... A bit of a weak finale for the viewers I thought this time round as they had actually shown most of the actions throughout the season so there wasn't much new ground to cover, no 'OMG they did THAT?!' highlights, the live element worked better at the new location though...but it turns out the candidates minus one didn't suspect a thing! For anyone interested there are some bonus clips and a hidden clues video on the official website, happily they're hosted on TH-cam so you can turn the subtitles on and auto translate to English to get a general idea :) No traditional clues relating to the episode titles though!
Heb deze nu net pas uitgekeken omdat ik vorig jaar geen tijd had, deze is zoveel leuker dan de huidige van 2024 😐 Please please please maak het leuker volgend jaar
Thanks as always Marieke! Major spoilers below! Welp, can't say I didn't see it coming. Random things that made me feel something this episode (because I've been kinda wishy washy the last few weeks, and because we've seen all of Jurre's sabotages already so it's more fun to pick out random fun things than roll my eyes out of my head): 1) Soy, the absolutely lovable idiot, I CANNOT BELIEVE (and yet can totally believe) that he continued suspecting Nabil the episode after he got a red screen. WHYYYYYYY-- 2) Jurre calling Everon Daddy, and blending perfectly into that chair. Kinda would've been fun to have a 'diary of the mole' this season, but it's just phone calls to Everon. 'Dad, they won all the money in the Sand Dune challenge and I couldn't stop them T.T' Actually, this would be an interesting twist in general. Have a mole know months in advance that they're the mole like normal, and let them have previous moles on retainer to help teach them like a mole boot camp. 3) Sarah is serving a look. I love her black Jessica Rabbit dress, drinking a glass of wine. I really wish she had made it further this season. And Annick's sparkly pantsuit! I love! 4) Geez I'm like 2/3rds of the way through these sabotages and like nothing has been a surprise yet. They really should have had tighter editing this season. 5) Are we really going this entire season without knowing what Ranomi's adjective should've been in the haunted house??? 6) Of course Jurre knew what was in each envelop in the photo safari challenge. Heaven forbid there be one challenge that would have been even marginally hard for the mole to sabotage. 7) The kinda sad applause from the audience after each sabotage is hilarious. 8) Holy cannoli, there really were like no unknown sabotages. Editors did Jurre dirty this year.
Omg Sarah in her fabulous dress with her glass of wine was giving me life throughout this entire video. ALL of the ladies looked INCREDIBLE including my girl Lakshmi (sitting behind Froukje and Sarah)! I had the exact same reaction as you when I found out Soy didn’t switch suspects after his red screen. A split second of “WHYYYYYY” followed by “of course he didn’t; he’s Soy.” Also finding out that Soy and Anke tied for last place with a whopping 3 correct answers was hilarious. I had a sneaking suspicion that his 2 jokers were what kept him in the game that week. Soy got incredibly lucky this season. Probably the luckiest candidate since Jochem.
On point #5 . . . . . . . . . . . . . RIGHT? I feel like it cheapens it a bit, since all Jurre had to do was win (and he definitely had time to prepare)
@@windfallsofdreams Nah, that would be Ranomi. Makes it to the finale while never having once voted for De Mol or won an exemption. Ok then! ....And apparently she wasted that luck by STILL voting Daniel at the end. Seriously Ranomi, what the heck?
Also if I had to guess what Ranomi’s character trait was supposed to be, I would say “sterk” (strong). We know that it is a 5-letter word that most likely begins with S. And she is an athlete, so it would make sense. But, yeah, I wish they would have told us!
Thank you for your hard work this season again, Marieke! . . . . . . . . . . . . I was secretely hoping we will be shocked and the Mole would be Daniel but no. I still think Jurre played a great game, it's just that the production showed us viewers too many hints
It was awesome 💚 I've translated all the official hidden hints (not the molactions but hints) on my channel for everyone who is interested in them as well 😄
This year mole, I found out very early but I didnt think he was truly the mole because previous mole haven't been so obviously moling like that. Lol I always hope the winner was the mole but well, he was so contestant last final episodes.
Hello Marieke. I am planning on visiting the Netherlands in March of 2024 and thought it would be awesome to attend the live finale for next year's edition of WIDM (even though I don't understand Dutch). Do you know if attendance to stand outside is free or if tickets are required. Is it always at Soestdijk Palace? Would you know where to get more info on fans wanting to attend the finale?
That kind of information will most likely be available around that time. I would think they will still do a free of charge live event, but you never know. If there are tickets to be bought they'll announce it on their socials, but it will be not be waaay in advance I think
SPECULATION for next season! 😀 I wonder where next season will be set. I loved the season they did in Japan, and also the one in Georgia was totally eye-opening! I think southeast Asia would be interesting, or South America. Of course secretly I want them to film it here in Western Canada. 😄 As for twists they can include, I wonder if they’ll bring back the “topitos” at some point: so once contestants collect a certain number of parts, they can assemble their own exemption. (I imagine that would make season planning tricky, which is why I think they only did that for two seasons.) Australia Season 4 had a neat twist. One week a contestant got eliminated and the group could vote to bring that contestant back into the game, which would earn the team money; they did. Later on in the season, a contestant was eliminated and was told immediately afterwards in secret that she could come back if she were to give up all the money earned by saving that first contestant. She said yes, and the money was lost, but she got back into the game. It turned out that second contestant was actually the Mole, which means that the Mole actually temporarily got eliminated but knew she could come back into the game! It threw everyone off! 😀 I didn’t love in Belgium Season 6 when they started with too many contestants and eliminated a bunch before the game even started; that seemed anticlimactic. I loved whatever season it was when they sent all their money to “Ellis Island” instead of having a treasurer. We need a female mole again … it’s been too long! What do you want to see in Season 24? And what do you think they’ll do for that all-important Season 25? 😀 Will they bring back old contestants?
I dunno about "neat twist"! Before that I don't think any candidate had even mentioned the Mole as a suspect. Afterwards, the final three eliminees all locked into her completely (although one did change his vote at f4 and got himself eliminated that way.) So all that really accomplished was getting major suspicion on the Mole from both the players and the fans (although I think by that point the fans had a good idea who it was anyway).
@@H0lyMoley It worked on me, anyway, 😄 which is why I thought it was interesting. I’ve watched around 30 seasons of this franchise and I’ve never watched another season where the Mole got eliminated, so that makes it pretty unique. But maybe there was a reason that idea never got duplicated. 😄 (I seem to remember hearing that there was an international variant-Italy, maybe?-where the Mole could be eliminated at any time, and if so, they were replaced. This seems like a weaker show to me.) In Belgium Season 10 they had to replace the Mole, who left the show for health reasons, and I’ve never seen that either. I’m sure it was the right decision for the Mole to leave the show, but it must’ve been hard for the other contestants because they had to essentially start from scratch with tighter competition. And that new Mole now had no preparation!
