A video to chronicle the journey of the longest serving power ranger. I know at some points it may seem like more of a "major plot points of the Zordon Era" but I just couldn't make a video of his saga without mentioning the team's changes in powers.
I also considered having more scenes in here, like stuff for his romance with Kim and Kat, some scenes with his brother, and a bit of him from Dinothunder before becoming a ranger.

I always loved how in Power Rangers the rangers could still fight even without wearing their suits. There's just something so cool to me seeing superheroes/superhero characters fighting in there normal states, really enforces the idea that it's the people, not the power
Yeah, but uniforms give them an identity as a Power Ranger, police officer, military, etc. The People matter like in all real-life services, but the uniform tells them, this is a job that requires a certain level of response and Power Ranger meant you were facing otherworldly threats.

Jason David Frank is an absolute legend, he was the only who knew, that he could make a massive living from it, kept his mouth shut and has very much became the brand ambassador which even featured a cameo in the second power rangers movie!!
It's almost like earning those martial arts belts when he goes from green to white to red to black ranger, like someone who has developed experience and rewarded along the way to Sensei.

Yeah SABAN did a shit job of providing them with copies of the original Japanese suits. The Japanese Green Ranger suit looks premium quality and not some DIY job with shit lying around the house.
the original japanese shield looked the best. It still looked like shit in megaforce so I don't know what the fuck you're talking about.
When Tommy came back as the green ranger in Fighting Spirit, they upgraded the shield to metal to match the one from the Japanese footage.
it only looks like that in shots they took for power rangers and not the japanese show but some shots its proper. the shield was broken when it was shipped over from japan and they had to make their own.

Wow I never noticed the subtle color changes between the Japanese footage of the Rangers outfits and the American footage. The Japanese Green Ranger had the gold shield, but it had a slightly different design. And the American Pink color is so candy bright she almost looks like cotton candy.

@@aidoist pay disputes between the actors of Jason, Zack, and Trini with Saban they felt they were under paid so Saban fired them near the start of white ranger saga and replaced them with Adam Rocky and Aisha actors. It’s for this reason why in between those episodes Tommy Kim and billy had more screen time and barely interact with the other.

Before Tommy showed up, the Power Rangers was just a kids’ show. Cheap production value, cheesy action, typical storylines, and basic stereotypes. Tommy brought in the originality, the relatability, and the spectacles that made Power Rangers connect with the fans on a stronger impact. It made kids believe in heroes in a way that Superman and Spider-Man couldn’t at the time. When Tommy told TJ he wouldn’t be standing here in the Passing the Torch episode if it wasn’t for his courage and strength, you can feel the same applying if the Power Rangers was telling that to Tommy. The franchise has continued in its popularity and longevity for 29 years and counting because of Jason David Frank’s dedication to this character at a time when the show needed it the most. JDF left the Power Rangers franchise looking better than it did the day he found it. RIP (Rest In Power) JDF.

then there was that mess midway through season 2.
During season 1 the rangers never took their helmets off. It wasn't until the appearance of Lord Zedd in season 2 that they started doing that. But yes from the mid points of season 2 you can hear the difference in the dubbing of the morphed ranger voices, reused stock footage for the contract issues that were around them. Amy Jo was probably the only one that left under good terms and was there for her characters send off in the MMPR setting. They did something similar when David Yost left the show with that whole terrible send off.
