hiya! Thank you for this, its really helpful :) I'm a Liverpool student going to XJTLU in September and I think since they changed the requirements to go (now 3rd year students can go too) there's a few more of us going next year...maybe ~170 students? So I wonder if there'll be a notable difference. Either way, its super interesting to hear your insight!
Wow you're going there this September? Me too! I actually very anxious about going to study in China, since I don't really know the situation over there. But you're right, this video really helps 😂
@@aderamsey2876 Shit hi I'm going to study there 2019/2020 too, I fly out a week today and I'm terrified 😅😅 she's right, I don't feel like the university has enough information
Hi Isabelle, thanks for making such a informative video to share your experiences in XJTLU. I'm coming there in November (hopefully November, it all depends on the incredibly protracted and labyrinthine visa process) to teach English in the uni. I'm feeling totally unprepared as I don't know where I'll be living or whom I'll be teaching and I can't speak any Chinese! I know our experiences will be a bit different as I'm not coming as a student, but I'm sure a lot of these tips are still going to be really helpful to my life
Good luck with your visa! Can I ask how you are going to teach English without speaking any Chinese? I can image it could be difficult for the students to follow your classes 🤔
@@IsabelleMuzerie I'll be teaching EAP in XJTLU - English and academic skills to support international students on English-language degree programmes. So my students won't necessarily all be Chinese but, as per your experience in classes, most probably will be
Hey @sam Evans, I was wondering if you ever made it there since you posted about this a year ago. I'd love to know more about your experience as an EAP teacher at XJTLU. Cheers!
Hey I’m really excited that you made such a video, seriously helpful ❤️ coming there this September, hope i can manage 😁 i’m just a little worried about Chinese language!
Hello there! I'm planning to study at the university for my bachelor degree in September this year and i also agree that the accommodation information they provide to us is far too vague. Actually, i went to Suzhou a few days ago and i was utterly shocked to see how narrow the room was😅. I'm definitely planning to try and find an appartment outside or i will be in for some serious depression in the long run.
Isabelle Muzerie Thanks a lot for sharing your experiences and providing bundle of Informations.I watched almost all of your videos which are really helpful for international students.Could you please wish to explain the life of the students having scholarships, like how university pay their feeses ,their dorm expenses ,specially about PhD scholarships students ?Once again thanking you and really you are doing a great job.
Hi. Thank you for the informations abt xjtlu. I request you to make a video with information about religions there, any information about the campus and religions, especially islam. Cause i am a hijabi girl, plan to study there, so i wish i got enough information about is it safe for me to study there as a moslem hijabi girl. Thank you✨. I really appreciate if u would.
Dear Isabelle Muzerie I am planning to study Business Analytics in XJTLU. Do know how is the course. Moreover in your video you told that there are numerous universities in SIP. How big in terms of area is XJTLU and how different is the university from western universities. Do you recommend the university for others to study. How good are the administration and the people.
Hi! Sorry, I am not familiar with the course you want to study. XJTLU is the biggest university in SIP in terms of area. I feel like XJTLU is also the most international university there. I do recommend the university! I had a great time there myself :D The people in the international students office are kind and helpful. Personally I had no issues with the administration there.
Hey thanks, really helpful. I am wondering if you are not allowed to cook or dont have kitchen in dorms how to manage then? Moreover, is 5k RBM is enough to manage living including accommodation, I really am worried about this.
Hi Isabelle I'm looking to take Chinese class this year in September but I don't know how are the students. They are friendly?and how is life in suzhou?😁 Thanks
The students there are very friendly! All the students in the Chinese class will be foreigners in the same situation as you, this often makes it easier to make friends. Personally, I loved Suzhou! If I were to go back to continue learning Chinese I will go to Suzhou again.
