    That is so much better than driving a rolling computer. So simple to work on, all metal, and a beautiful truck. Would love to have one myself.

    LOL, my '71 Dodge Adventurer, the rear cab corners were gone where the beam under the gas tank held the cab up. The tank, behind the seat, in the cab, was all that was holding the rear of the cab up, it bolted 2 a flange under the rerar window! The guy I bought it from, recently safetied, actually engraved the weld seams down by the VIN plate, in the bondo! He was VERY creative! The seatbelts were attached 2 the carpet! I put in headers, dual exhaust, and Edlebrock aluminum intake with Carter Quad 4bbl (replaced the old Rochester 2bbl and cast intake. The front upper shock mounts actually broke the 3/8" thick Mopar angles, the upper mount holes were onl;y 1'4" away from the edge of the angle and hammered the corner off right thru the bolt holes! PRETTY truck though, but Mother Nature reclaimed the X frame/rivets and the main frame rotted out! UNBELIEVABLE pulling power 4 a 318/Loadflite!

    The truck was obviously Ziebarted at some point many years ago. I don't think it was available in 1968 but by the early 80's it was. Also, the truck may not have reverse lights on it. Google says that reverse light were available since the 1940's but pickup trucks were bare bones back then compared to cars and it showed. I think my 1969 Ford F-250 had reverse lights but couldn't swear to it on a stack of Bibles (the truck finally gave out in the late 1980's).

    Chrysler small blocks didn't ever have a dist in the front All LA series engines are rear dist

    • @calvinhandley2373
      @calvinhandley2373 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Lukas Smith is correct all A, LA, and Magnum engines had the distributor in the rear. Same for the first generation Hemi. Only the B,RB, and 2nd gen Hemi had the distributor in the front, angled to the passenger side.

    • @jimchik
      @jimchik 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      it was simply a difference between the small blocks (318's, 340's, 360's) and the B blocks (383's, 400's and 440's). The big blocks all had front mounted distributors.

      @@calvinhandley2373 So, the engine in this 1970 D200 is a 318 right? How would I know if its an A, LA or Magnum? th-cam.com/video/AGCQyyCKfrM/w-d-xo.html

    • @calvinhandley2373
      @calvinhandley2373 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      runnik catti Magnum engine was introduced for the 1993 model year in Dakotas, D series pickups and B series vans. LA series 318 introduced in 1967, based on the LA series 273 which shared the same stroke with the A series 318. The A series and LA series 318 had the same bore and stroke and the same 230 horsepower rating. The engine underwent a minor redesign for 1970 with a different timing cover/water pump base, and a change to an aluminum water pump instead of cast iron. This redesign also applied to the 340. The 360 was introduced in 1971. The most noticeable differences between the LA series 318 and 360 and their Magnum counterparts are as follows, the magnums have a different valve cover bolt pattern with more bolts. The intake manifold bolts are vertical instead of perpendicular to the intake surface. Magnum engines were multi-port fuel injected from the factory, though they can be refitted to carburetion. LA series engines were all carbureted, with the exception of an early 80's Imperial, through 1987. Starting in the 88 year model throttle body injection began being used in truck applications, while passenger car applications (Fifth Avenue, Diplomat, Gran Fury) continued with carburetion. All Magnum engine had a roller lifter valve train, while LA engines started transitioning to rollers around 85. BTW dual exhaust was only offered in limited B-Body vehicles in 73-74. The Road Runner had it for sure, and I believe the Charger Rally also offered it. It is also possible to retrofit Magnum heads to an LA series engine, if you know what you're doing as far as mixing the parts. You can also get aftermarket heads that feature Magnum style heads (valve train and port layout) that will bolt up to an LA intake. Yes the engine in that old farm truck is an LA series 318.

      @@calvinhandley2373 Thanks for that info. So, this engine was designed for leaded gas. Could the use of unleaded fuel be the cause of the slight lifter tap / knock?

    Nice stock truck. Just how I like them. I see the door corners are starting to poke through from inside out rust. The corners are the first place they go. Someone should get on that before it becomes a major.
