My favorite translation of the song to English actually has that fried lyric basically being (normal) “if I had to describe myself the words I’d use would be” (digitized “fried” part) “good for nothing”
Which with that translation gives it an insane punch to the lyric.

@@0jacon0ice0 on the touhou wiki, the distorted part is in brackets, [rokudenashi], which the translation is "good for nothing" so, going off the wiki, the translation is accurate!
if you see the actual extended version of bad apple you can still hear the sounds but with a jumpscare
I actually like this more than what the full version is supposed to be. Much more dynamic, and while I love reisen, she got way too much screentime.

I love how UFO and TD actually have screentime here. It makes the video a crossover of the entirety of the first two eras of Windows Touhou (and Elly), which I like. I feel bad for Rei'sen and Orin for being cut out of this version, but I understand why it had to be done
SA, UFO and TD didn't exist when the remix was made, which was probably why they weren't in the original video, but SA and UFO were certainly out by the time the full video was made (the shorter version being made in late 2009), so they could've put at least Byakuren in the original full version instead of fully relying on the Komeiji sisters and their pets.
These new scenes are really good! I like that some parts reference the original full version but all of the SA cast is so well done, especially Okuu's part. Everyone else's after that were just as amazing. If anyone ever did a "sequel" with all of the new characters it should be you!

The scenes with the Watatsuki sisters and Utsuho were based on the original, but the Komeiji sisters have a completely different scene (they were dancing in the original), Orin was cut from this version, the UFO characters weren't in the original, and I don't think the TD characters even existed when the full version was made.
I legit lost it on the transition from Nazrin to Byakuren, that was so expertly made!
Those effects rlly brought it together to make it feel like the original animation, combined with yours! Nice work
I have a good(ish) idea for how to transition from futo to tojiko, have futo throw a plate and it break into shards and when the shard looks like a lightning bolt have tojiko come down with sone lightning

The extended part of this is definitely more fitting to the original MV than the one shown at concerts. Creative and smooth transitions between what the characters are doing instead of just a slideshow of them dancing. Glad TH-cam showed me this, good shit. 👍

The real concert one went with Mu's storyboard just like the original animation and this one seems to be random

Not a fan of interpolation used on the original for this video
The original 30fps is very smooth already.
Also there is an official 720p version released in 2015 with pump it up prime. Its scaled up from the original video master (talked to anira's friend to confirm) and has way less artifacts than the nicovideo upload.
There is also Minoshima's 1080p upscale based on the original video master but is very slightly cropped and the contrast is messed with.
I also have a 100% accurate shortened version of the lossless audio i made, i could share it.

@gensokyopsycho I also found pretty everything I could find about the extended version from concerts. I'm going to learn MMD to make an accurate 3d recreation.
Only few on youtube are kinda accurate and it's recreations by my friends.
We finally solved a scene recently that the lack of footage of was messing with us by analyst what we have very closely
Unpopular opinion: This version feels unnecessary. I don’t like it not because the new animations themselves are bad. It’s just that it does not compare to the quality of the original. The way the transitions work in the original and how the models flow into each other in a seamless way is not replicated with this fan add-on. The fact that a different person made the new animations feels blatantly obvious. Even subtle things like the detail in the new models that make it extremely obvious that MMD was used whereas in the original you can’t tell the animation is using MMD because of how clean the models look. I can see that there was an attempt to emulate the style, it’s just not nearly as creative as the original and it feels like it’s intruding on the original work in an attempt to make it “better” when in reality it’s just amazing on it’s own.
Sorry if this sounds harsh, this is intended to be constructive criticism. Everything I just said might be obvious, I just see nobody else talking about it so I felt like I had to say this.
I had no intention to make it better, I just made an attempt to create a tribute to my favorite animation by extending it while trying to mimic the animation style as close as I can, seeing as no one had done so. I can name a couple of people who could've done a FAR better job than I have.
In any case, I do understand where you are coming from and by no means will my animations be able to replace the original.

Once again I am convinced that 60 frames do not always and not everywhere look good
Seeing this entire animation, I felt like that there’d be a bit more to the transitions, but for what it’s worth, it’s still a great continuation.
For the transition from the Watatsukis to Satori, instead of a focus on the moon, zoom towards the dead center as you move the camera down, using the space between the Watatsukis as a starting point for you to “fall down a cave” into Chireiden.
I think, personally, that the lampposts in Byakuren’s part are a bit too distracting and make her really cluttered.
And I’m sure there’s a lot of suggestions for the Ten Desires gang, especially in the transitions after Mamizou. But overall, great work!

my only criticisms are the low polygon models (watasuki sisters and such) and lack of "life" in some of the scenes (like the ustuho scene, the wing flapping could've been done better)

I completely understand the criticism of the lack of 'life', it is a very valid one, I'm not confident enough to animate energetic movement.
The low poly model issue is the one I have no control over because that depends on the 3D artist who made the model.

So I just noticed that part of it was already correct
Some parts are correct and some off because the way the DVD editors edited it
I talked to someone who helped anira with the original animation and it turns out that anira doesn't allow any modifications of the animation.
Why did anira not say so in the nicovideo description though?
and the real extended version from the concerts was from another animator with anira's permission

Oh god, this extended version was so stunning, especially the scenes of the SA cast!! It's incredible seeing more of what I am so used to by now. I feel like it didn't really show off the character of a lot of them though, or might give the wrong impression of the character (for example, Byakuren's defining characteristic isn't her being a motorcyclist, it's that she brings youkai together, or Miko's isn't her sword it's... taoism ig?) Miko's scene could've been contrasted against Byakuren to show their rivalry as religious leaders as an example

only complaint is that the detail of some of the models you used dont match the detail of those in the pv, but i guess that cant be helped because im pretty sure that anira and everyone else who worked on the original pv made all the models themselves since they cant be found anywhere else
