For the past couple of weeks I've been walking those roads every day. Wanting to know more about old Wishaw and seeing the way things once were. Thanks for posting this wonderful treasure.
I spent my childhood living on Alexander Street, across from the bowling green, and remember the Stenton Cottages very well. Lots of memories, thanks for posting this fine wee film.
Know that bit of Wishaw well, started my apprentiship in Marshall St. through the bridge to the left in the 70`s .Many houses shown there may have had problems with subsidence due to old mine workings which affected some of the newer ones just off camera.
my dad left in 1939 to join the war, he was borne in Newmains in 1922, grew up in overtown, and spent most of his early life in wishaw, i loved coming home to wishaw as a kid ware most of the family are and netherton, God Bless All at Home, Orr shona, jim, craig and families, sorry, jim little, bristol, england

We just returned from a 32 day road trip from Lynchburg to California and 13 states in between. Spent 2 weeks with Joes folks in Chico, California then back to Hope Street.
