Great Video. I play several characters of the same class and from what i have noticed in The War Within: you have to play the character that did the magetower challenge back in legion, playing a fresh character of the same class (even with unlocking the artifact weapon and having it in my bag) wont unlock the other tints for the magetower skin. i tried this with kj hc and the rated battle ground tint nothing happend :(
That is correct. In order to unlock the secondary skins, you must play the exact same character that cleared the Mage Tower back in Legion. It's been like this ever since the Legion Mage Tower challenge closed.

Thank you for the video, quick question - Do i need to do all steps on one specific character to unlock all color tints? I have Corrupted Ashbringer in Red version unlocked on a fresh paladin alt, but not the default green tint - do i need to do the whole thing on the new paladin to unlock green version? To unlock for example Yellow tint, do i need to get 1000 kills using the default skin transmogged or that doesn't matter? Can i unlock the Yellow tint on character B after unlocking default skin on character A? Thank you for answers:)
You mean Corrupted Remembrance? (Corrupted Ashbringer lookalike). It sounds to me like you have encountered a very fortunate bug in wow. You have not actually unlocked the secret artifact weapon for your ret paladin, but you have unlocked the secret artifact appearance on another class (for instance hunter or dk) This bug causes you to unlock secondary tints of secret artifact appearances across your other characters, as you complete the requirements on the character which already has a secret artifact appearance unlocked. So yes, you do need to complete the secret questline for the green Corrupted Remembrance, to unlock that appearance "correctly". I hope it makes sense? ^^' As for your other question, you do not need to have your weapon transmogged to unlock appearances. As long as you have the base artifact weapon in your bags or bank.
Hi! I have a question.. the quest for the Corrupted Ashbringer back then, required an artifact knoledge level 6, in order to proceed. This day artifact knowledge it's been completely deactivated. You can't level it up. Can i still do all the steps and get the skin or not?
I know I'm a bit late to the party, but I was after my shattered reckoning off-tints. I got the main one back in legion, and that char is probably too low ilvl to try anything atm. Since wowhead guides said kill KJ on HC to get another tint whilst wearing shattered reckoning appearance, I tried that by xmogging my 467 weapon into base shattered reckoning tint on my current paladin, and there isn't any other tint than the original one. If I'm missing any steps, I'd appreciate if you could point me in the right direction. Thanks, and thanks for the video.
Most importantly, you have to run the raid with the same character that obtained the main tint back in legion. You shouldn’t need to equip the artifact weapon, but keeping it in your bags or bank is probably a good idea. Moreover, it does take a while for the new appearance to show up in your journal after obtaining it (usually 24 hours or so). I hope that helps! 😊
