They don't sell the mat I use anymore. But it is just a standard self-healing craft mat, with baking paper on top of it (the mat itself is not classed as food-safe, so need the baking paper)
Wow. You are INSANELY talented! This cake is amazing! What liquid were you using to adhere the fondant piece together? Was that just water? Could the million little fondant pieces be made ahead of time and then froze until time for assembly? Can whip cream icing be painted like you painted on the window and shading?
For the 'glue' I use either water, vodka or an edible glue mix (depending on the area). You can make all the fondant pieces ahead of time, I usually do to allow them time to dry properly. But I wouldn't recommend putting them in the freezer, they won't dry properly and when they come to room temperature the moisture will dissolve the fondant.
+Cakes Cupcakes I cut a piece of styrofoam to sit underneath the cake, then glued a cardboard cake board on top (cut to shape). This helped to raise the cake up, and allow room for the wheels.
Hi! Love your work Can you tell me the size of the truck . I’m wanting to make the same truck but as an 18 wheeler. What’s the dimension of the front cab? Thank you
amazing work... can you please tell me if i made a truck design, and needed to be placed in the fridge, what do you suggest in adding to the sugar paste or fondant, so that the colours and accents don't weep . or is there such a thing i can use.
I don't refrigerate my cakes, because when taking them out it can cause condensation, which will lead to the colours seeping and the moisture eating away at the fondant. If you have to refrigerate the cake, it would be best to serve it soon after taking it out, or leave it out for a bit to dry out (some direct a fan at it to help this), but I haven't had much success with that.
I got the template from Google, based on the style of truck that was needed, and just printed it to fit on the biggest board that my cake cupboard can hold.
Wow it's a beautiful work very detailed. Do you share your template with us? I have to make a similar cake in one month it will be a great help if you share your templates. thank you
I don't actually have the template for this cake any more (I usually just make the template for the required cake, and then throw it out, as every cake is custom).
I used a combination of both (some parts were completely modelling chocolate, some parts were completely fondant and some parts were a 50/50 mix, it depends on what you prefer to work with)
Pricing is something that is very subjective. If you're a decorator looking to sell something like this, it will depend on the overhead costs you have (including registrations and insurances) and how long it'll take you to make it. If you're looking to purchase something like this, again, it'll depend on the specific decorator's pricing structure.
Gracias Gracias Gracias por compartir tus conocimientos, excelente trabajo

thank you so how long do you suggest for me to attempt and make a fondant covered truck. the day before or the day of. i would think the day of
also for your accents are you using gum paste, or pastillage thank you for your help
This cake took me 3-4 days to do minimum.
For the accent pieces I used gumpaste and made them 2 weeks in advance to allow them to dry.
Thanks for the video. is the initial covering buttercream? It seems thin but seemed to firm up well on the cake.
The icing is chocolate ganache. It sets firmer and holds up a bit better than buttercream does.
Hi - great cake - can you please advise how you worked out the template size and where you got it from - thanks 🙏🏼

The cake looks amazing, but I wish you had slowed down the video a bit, it was too fast to see some of the things you were doing.
very beautiful cake!) Tell me, how many kilograms did the cake turn out to be?
Thats amazing where did you get that template?
Thank you. I made the template using a blueprint of a truck, and just scaled it to the size I needed.

For a template, I just googled truck blueprints, and adjusted the size for the size of the cake I wanted to make.
Hi
Is this particular truck on your patron page that can be purchased with the template?
I don't actually have the template for this cake any more (I usually just make the template for the required cake, and then throw it out, as every cake is custom).
Thank you
I will attempt to make one this week
Did you use fondant or modelling chocolate?
