Revealing Ireland's Hidden Past: A Clifden Day Trip Uncovers Surprising Secrets|

Ireland has one of the least number of public holidays in the world. In 2023, Ireland added Imbolc as a public holiday. Imbolc marks the beginning of Spring and it's dedicated to St. Brigid, who is revered in Ireland. Being a Corporate Slave, I decided to explore Clifden, a small town in the Western part of Ireland.
I took a 1.5 hours bus ride to Clifden from Galway City and cycled along the Wild Atlantic Way in the Sky Road Loop. The Sky Road has several picturesque viewpoints. Some of the landscapes seemed to be worth my Desktop wallpaper.
It was a windy day in February with wind speeds clocking above 30 km/hr. Although it was challenging to fly my DJI Mini 3 drone, I still managed to capture the beauty of the Clifden town center and Clifden Castle. Exploring the history of the old Clifden Railway station and uncovering the relation of the town with Marconi, the inventor of the radio made this trip worth the visit.
I would like to thank Jonathan, the owner of Clifden Bike Shop who gave me a detailed picture of the town through his maps. If you are in Ireland, I would highly recommend this trip.
Moreover, I have also given you a glimpse of what it is like to live in Ireland as a foreigner and how foreigners perceive this country. Be it the fewer number of public holidays, bad transportation, bad weather or amazing landscapes, I have tried my best to show what Ireland is through this Travel Documentary.
