    2 band badger with a nice wooden handle does it for me. In the winter when it's next to impossible to keep it dry, I use a synthetic. Great video Eric.

    Great video! Very nice brushes there Eric. I too have tried very cheap to very expensive brushes with 2 band badger gel tips but honestly for me a good boar brush is the best. Once they are broken in nothing else can beat em! Thank you my friend for all the great videos and information. Have a blessed and enjoyable weekend brother!

    It's a wonderful history on how you progressed in finding your favorite brush, Eric! I have 7 brushes with another custom badger along the way. I have 2 badgers, 2 boars and 3 synthetics. Currently, my favorite brush is a replica of a C-Mon handle with Super high density badger knot from Heritsge Collection. It looks gorgeous and it matches the scales of my 2 vintage C-Mon razors as well as some of my other straights.

    Very nice! My search ended when I discovered synthetic brushes specifically PAA's Starcraft synthetic line. I currently have their Roswell 24mm synthetic. Back when I started, synthetic brushes were terrible. They have come a really long way in the last 6 years.

    My Shavemack 26mm badger bulp is my favourite, because it can hold more soap than my boar brushes. I use the boar brushes for traveling because the dry faster. I'm considering a synthetic for that purpose.

      Mikael your Shavemack 26mm badger sounds like a very nice shave brush! ;) Yeah Buddy! I believe you'll like a synthetic for traveling.

    I can't get my Semogue 1305 to work well for me even after a long time. I have that 10098 Omega and love it.

    my Simpson T3 Trafalgar is the best brush on the market today it's like buying a $200 badger hair brush, no cleaning the brush, no need for a brush stand, fast drying time, well not fall apart like a badger hair can, cheap to buy,
    i have owned it for 5 years with know problems wheelchair Larry

    Great video Eric! My favorite brush is a badger from West Coast Shaving and can be had for around 30 bucks. Second to that is my Omega boar brush. Some people like synthetics but I have one and didn't like it. May get a few more boar brushes at some point. Keep up the fine work.

    • @AdventuresInWetShaving
      @AdventuresInWetShaving  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Nicholas that's a great price for a badger brush! ;) West Coast Shaving has some good deals! Yeah Buddy! My Omega 10098 is my second favorite :) I made both of my synthetic brushes and set the knot deep enough to get them some backbone.

    There is a reason badger is more expensive than boar. Its superior in every way possible. Badger holds water and heat in the bristles and creates a lather quicker and easier than boar. Badger is softer on your face as well, if you like softer bristles. Some Men prefer the scratchiness of a boar brush but, in my humble opinion, if you prefer a scratchy brush its because you are doing more than applying lather to shave with. You are exfoliating, which is why it feels good. So maybe go with a badger brush for the superior qualities and exfoliate your face on the side. It would probably feel better than using the boar brush anyways!

      Some good points, Matt! ;) Yeah, Buddy I have a good badger brush that I can do some testing with! I'll give it a go!

      @@AdventuresInWetShaving no worries! Great video, just wanted to point that out. I started with boar brushes because of the friendlier cost, but once I switched I never looked back!

    A single brush is not going to do at all. If i have a week's worth of beard to shave then i'll be using a scuttle and a lather hog like the 10098. But if i am only shaving 2 day's worth off then it depends on how much time i have - if it's a weekday then i'll use a synthetic, otherwise one of my fleet of 10083's. i find a 26mm knot just fine. i may even face lather then.
    Usually my brush doesn't have to hold enough lather for 3 passes because it sits in a scuttle, so i might use a badger just for the softness and luxury or a boar for the backbone to really work the soap into my face.
    i have 8 brushes - 3 are synthetic, 4 are well-broken in boar hair and one is a silvertip badger, which imo doesn't justify the price and i'd not buy again!

      Great review and explanation when you use your brush T! ;) Yeah Buddy! It's really good to have some different brushes to pick from depending on the day and how much time you have if shave.
