So uhm what if you didnt see this video before unplugging the car seat....now i have that fault code...i am gonna try disconnecting te battery now for a moment but idk if it wil help
You may have to buy a cheap airbag reset tool specific to your generation of mini
Disconnecting the battery again won’t help

Hi, my question is that after I switched off the power, took out the seat can I switch on the power again and use the car without the front passenger seat? I would like to use the car without the front seat and back seats when I travel and may need to sleep in the car (rainy weather). Thanks so much. Steven
Hi if you reconnect the battery with either front seat disconnected, you will get warning lights that you will need a special tool to reset.
Thanks for the video, great stuff. Quick question... if I'm fitting stock Lounge Leather heated seats to my r56 cooper that doesn't have heated seats already, is that going to cause me a problem with an electrical connection under the seat that has nowhere to go? Cheers, Paul
As far as I know as long as you aren’t bothered about the heated elements working, you shouldn’t have a problem.
@@tweedbean Thank you! That's what I thought, but worth checking. I was actually hoping that the wiring would be there anyway for the heated seats but that doesn't seem to be the case and of course there wouldn't be any buttons anyway, so changes would be required. Cheers, Paul

Last time I disconnected my R55 battery it bricked the footwell module and I had to get it reflashed. Apparently it's not uncommon with these cars. What steps do you take to prevent that happening?
In all my years of working on my own minis I’ve never heard of that happening by disconnecting the battery. It’s an odd one

What torque in Nm is needed to reinstall the seat screws ? Screw glue or not ?
If it’s the same as the r53 it’s 35Nm (26 ft-lb)

what are the lengths and widths for the seat holes, i was wondering because they dont have a seat mount for my gen 3
I know they aren’t the same on the 2nd and 3rd gen as people have had to make custom brackets to fit 3rd gen seats in an r56. R53 and and R56 are interchangeable.
I hope you can help me.. I have purchased a 2011 r55 clubman and want to swap out the seats with a lounge leather set. Will a set from an r56 fit my r55?
HI thanks for watching. 100% the front seats will fit, the rear bench I am not sure about, I think from memory the rear bench is wider to allow for a middle seat, so if im right the rears wouldnt fit
I wish I had watched this before I took my seats out to clean underneath because now I have the airbag light on 🤦🏼♂️
Sorry to great that, there are some cheap airbag light reset tools on eBay etc

The foam part in between the rear panels fits with some trimming with a sharp hot knife as the gp2 has thinner rear side panels so the foam part is wider than the stock panels.

It’s varies so much based on what brackets you get for your seats. Mine are bolted to stock rails so I can slide them backwards and forwards

Anyone know how to remove the rails from the seats from my 2007 Mini Cooper S? I see four bolts, but the heads are smooth and the nuts are round. :\
Hi you have to undo the nuts from the top of the rail, the underside is flat which is the bottom end of the bolt not the nut. You have to go in from the side and potentially remove the plastic trim if you cant see the 4 nuts
