To be honest they both won, in all senses, Sukuna have never faced someone who can match him. Man lived boring life in heian era and both of them enjoyed the fight didn't they? Gojo won but then Sukuna won overall. And both of them won in terms of enjoying their powers once in their lives. Both are Goats by it's literal meaning, Gojo is greatest of new era and Sukuna is greatest in history. Only one who really a lost & fraud is Gege by ending Gojo offscreen, he could die better or at least we could see this epic moment. Hell even they both truly respecting each other unlike their fanbase
It was hard for me to except Gojo’s death at first, and it still is since Gojo was literally boosted with black flashes and Sukuna on the other hand was weakened. I also wish we got to see more from Sukuna and Gojo like new or hidden abilities. Gojo’s death was handled pretty well regardless of that. Gojo got one last time to shine when he clutched that purple in the tough state he was in. He exorcised a (maybe) 80% adapted Mahoraga, put Sukuna in terrible condition he couldn’t recover without transforming, and killed Agito all in the most flashy way possible. Even the king of curses was uneasy for the first time. His little imagination sequence was pretty emotional too and his death had a lot of emotional impact seeing him lying on the ground lifeless after that little dream of his. It’s pretty cool to think that a middle aged man in the modern era is matching up with the strongest in history. All those who deny the fact it was close are just hating. Even Sukuna had respect for Gojo in the end after all his trash talk. And all those who call Sukuna a fraud are just sore losers. Even though I was routing for Gojo, I had a big feeling he would die. He won the battle of the strongest but lost the fight in the end. There’s no way he’d be the one to kill the main antagonist while the others just sat there and “existed”. Had we actually saw Sukuna use the slash on Gojo, it would have looked pretty goofy (don’t know how to explain it) seeing Gojo get slashed and his body just slowly slide down like Yamamoto in bleach. It would have been disrespectful to his character. Gojo getting off screened made it more surprising and adds more emotional weight. I just want to know what they were expecting. Gojo dies to exhaustion? Gojo dies trying to save Megumi and gets backstabbed or something? That would be too disrespectful. If they choose to even bring Gojo back which would be extremely unlikely, it should be foreshadowed in Sukuna’s trial that Gojo isn’t dead, and then maybe Gojo can show up in the end and finish off the main antagonist, like archer in unlimited blade works when he finished Gilgamesh. I know people want to see Itadori kill Sukuna but it would be hard not to make it look like some generic anime final boss gets killed by the protagonist.

To be honest they both won, in all senses, Sukuna have never faced someone who can match him. Man lived boring life in heian era and both of them enjoyed the fight didn't they?

It was hard for me to except Gojo’s death at first, and it still is since Gojo was literally boosted with black flashes and Sukuna on the other hand was weakened. I also wish we got to see more from Sukuna and Gojo like new or hidden abilities.
Gojo’s death was handled pretty well regardless of that. Gojo got one last time to shine when he clutched that purple in the tough state he was in. He exorcised a (maybe) 80% adapted Mahoraga, put Sukuna in terrible condition he couldn’t recover without transforming, and killed Agito all in the most flashy way possible. Even the king of curses was uneasy for the first time. His little imagination sequence was pretty emotional too and his death had a lot of emotional impact seeing him lying on the ground lifeless after that little dream of his. It’s pretty cool to think that a middle aged man in the modern era is matching up with the strongest in history. All those who deny the fact it was close are just hating. Even Sukuna had respect for Gojo in the end after all his trash talk. And all those who call Sukuna a fraud are just sore losers.
Even though I was routing for Gojo, I had a big feeling he would die. He won the battle of the strongest but lost the fight in the end. There’s no way he’d be the one to kill the main antagonist while the others just sat there and “existed”.
Had we actually saw Sukuna use the slash on Gojo, it would have looked pretty goofy (don’t know how to explain it) seeing Gojo get slashed and his body just slowly slide down like Yamamoto in bleach. It would have been disrespectful to his character. Gojo getting off screened made it more surprising and adds more emotional weight. I just want to know what they were expecting. Gojo dies to exhaustion? Gojo dies trying to save Megumi and gets backstabbed or something? That would be too disrespectful. If they choose to even bring Gojo back which would be extremely unlikely, it should be foreshadowed in Sukuna’s trial that Gojo isn’t dead, and then maybe Gojo can show up in the end and finish off the main antagonist, like archer in unlimited blade works when he finished Gilgamesh. I know people want to see Itadori kill Sukuna but it would be hard not to make it look like some generic anime final boss gets killed by the protagonist.
