It was written so open-ended that even the writer mixed things in to try to make it make sense to those reading/watching, to make it appear more interesting for fans. To have the power to be immortal as long as the powerful "being" you cast exists would not make much sense in that direction of who holds the true power to stay alive since it functioned both directions. It could have been as simple as they are both one in the same. Both will exist until both are killed around the same time before regenerating as one or the other within the area. James is simply both "James" and "Mask", since at least one needs to be alive to exist at all before being severely damaged and end up returning to Yhwach. Mask killed multiple copies of James right before Renji killed Mask, sealing the deal that he is truly dead since neither is there to support/revive the other. Even "James" said "huh? wait?" before he got supernova blasted lol
As goofy as Mask may have looked - he did an extremely impressive job. 3 lieutenants knocked out, 2 captains on the verge of death. He went down with a blast.

Subtle SFXs are something that people really should pay more attention to. Ichigo placing both Zangetsus on the wooden table in episode 1 and it giving off a satisfying "CA-CLUNK" and the way Kensei's Bankai lets off these metallic creaks as it moves...it's satisfying!
Renji is the only one who had his bankai name hidden from him. So no, Ichibe didnt do the same thing for everyone. He knows it, he just doesnt want to use it due to Ruri’iro Kujaku being a Kido type Zanpakuto which are looked down upon by his squad with the addition of him wanting to piss his Zanpakuto off. Thus, he uses the fake name, Fuji Kujaku, which alters his Zanpakuto to be a legit weapon type

Renji is not like Ikkaku at all, Renji wants to surpass Byakuya, that's his target. Renji was in fact supposed to take Byakuya's place in Kubo's plan, until he was bombared with death threats for killing Byakuya against As Nodt to the point he was forced to make him survive the first invasion.

Vizards aren't using their masks cause the author simply forgot this aspect of these characters or didn't mind at all. Simple as that. None of the vizards had any relevance during this war.

It's not from the manga, but one of the novels. 2) This is your first introduction to one of the Quincy with a more esoteric power. Basically, there are some that you can't just overpower because they have some sort of reality-bending hax that needs to be worked around. Mask is the weakest of these Quincy, but still REALLY strong. 3) Kinshara is like the opposite of Aizen's sword. It creates physical effects on people who hear it based on what he plays. Basically, if he plays a song of fire, enemies who hear it get burned. It makes it incredibly powerful and flexible, but with the glaring weakness that anybody without the sense that lets it work is immune. 4) Renji has been getting clowned on by his own sword for the entire series. He was desperate enough to unlock bankai so that he could save Rukia that his sword gave him the partial release, but he has been fighting at sub-bankai levels throughout the series so far (halfway between shikai and bankai, basically). The fact that nobody noticed this does kinda indicate how powerful he could be if he fully trains his bankai though.
Props to MDM for taking countermeasures against Rose's bankai the moment he was told how it works. He's smarter than 90% of shonen characters who listen to an explanation of how an ability works but does nothing with the knowledge
And reverse props to Rose for explaining his Bankai XD I was thinking of a way for Mask to figure out the secret without Rose babbling. Maybe his Bankai blares out a loud music that not even covering his ears would stop? So Mask, in his hard-headed bravado, just ruptures his eardrums to try and stop the torturing music and it halts the Bankai. Simple little edits that would paint the Vizards in a better light, but I do understand that Kubo, at this time, was getting sicker.

I fucking love the "true bankai". Aizen was right, when shinigamis reach beyond their peak, the zampaktous merge with the user, Ichigo in final getsuga tenshou was connected by chains to zangetsu and aizen absorbed his zampaktou, now we're seeing the first "pure" shinigami doing it, his true bankai is connected to his body, Renji is OP as fuck. If Renji and Rukia are beyond captain level, Ichigo is going to be Saitama.
No, Soul Reapsrs aren't becoming one with their Bankai. They are wearing their Bankai. Renji gained a monkey arm over his and a snake sword. Hence, the name So'o Zabimaru (twin kings) Ichigl and Aizen became their Zanpakuto, and their Zanpakuto became them. Looking at Aizen was akin to looking at Kyoka Suigetsu, and Ichigo launched Getsuga Tenshou from his body. In other words, they transcended Zanpakuto. Everyone else is still very much using their Zanpakuto.

I recall during the manga (from back when I read it) that YHWCH told them something among the lines: "Even a merged Bankai will be render powerless if it's destroyed in the future". I know that Aizen was talking about beings on a higher plane, but Renji is a example of a Shinigami that reached PEAK Soul Reaper power and the power is totally linked to his body (Like a few Soul Reapers).
Without spoiling too much, you gotta put into context the fact that even as a sternritter, they already have an ability to be immortal as long as their conduit counterpart is alive. Therefore, Yhwach must have at the very least the ability to not die, and more. His ability cannot be weaker than immortality.
omg, this episode was straight up FIRE, the animation (sakuga) went up a notch, renji finally got his first W, rose's bankai was lit, and kensei got his brief moment to shine. i underestimated ray mysterio, i thought he was some goofball but he was fire, quite sad that he died so early on, but i cannot wait for rukia's time to shine next week!!! 🥶
Yeah, Yhwach freely offers his blood to Quincy willing to join his cause but they must have unwavering commitment to him this pact grants the Quincy immeasurable power HOWEVER once you die your experiences, your memories, and the power granted to you by your pact with Yhwach will return to Yhwach. Yhwach is counting on The Quincy to strengthen the kernel of power he grants them precisely so when that Quincy dies Yhwach can reclaim the fully matured version of that power without putting any work into actually training on how to use it himself. Although it's not really clear in the manga I suspect Yhwach needs Uryu because Yhwach could resurrect himself in the human world due to his blood being inside of Uryu
Well, Ichibee title "Manako Osho" has deeper meaning in manga (not spoilers, cuz he said it in this episode, it was cut from anime) - He came up with names "Shikai" and "Bankai"... BUT - He also knows the names of every Shikai and Bankai in existence - no matter where the owner is - AND he knows the names even if said Shikai or Bankai wasn't obtained yet - for example, if characters like Hisagi, Zaraki Kenpachi, Yumichika etc. etc. ever were to obtain Bankai - Ichibee already knows the name of their Bankai from the day they first grabbed the swords. (Sorry for this poor English, it's my second language :D )

Ichibei named everything in the Soul Society. There were no names for these phenomena before he named them. Names in Bleach are metaphysical representations of power (think of it sort of like Plato's theory of forms/platonic concepts), the names of things are what gives them their strength, hence why Soul Reapers call out the names of their Zanpakuto for Shikai and Bankai. This is also why Renji wasn't as powerful as he could be due to not knowing his Zanpakuto's full name.
Sajin's clan was super intersting story, i would personally like to expand their past 'sins', Komamura is actually a dope character and probably the only one with PROPER motive to fight in the war.
Now some of yall might be wondering: WHY TF DONT THE VISOREDS USE THEIR MASKS? Short answer: Hollowfication is simply downright exhausting, thus proving impractical in extensive battles. Visoreds cannot, or would rather not, hollowfy with their Bankai but can only use their masks with their Shikai, lasting for only an average of 3 minutes (with the exception of Mashiro Kuna, who can stay hollowfied for 15 hours probably due to her not releasing her shikai or use any kido, only breaking after she used a cero in the FKT arc; and Ichigo, who has an abnormally huge amount of reiatsu that even Unohana got fazed at, which allowed him to use his mask with his bankai for just a few seconds, then a few minutes, until at some point he mastered it.) Plus there's also the fact that Quincies can completely erase a hollow. In that sense, Vizoreds vs Sternritter is a bad matchup. Who knows what'd happen if an active Hollowfication gets hit with a Quincy's reishi... But hey... THATS JUST A THEORY~!
In the Soul Society arc byakuya even says it takes hundreds of years for a captain to master their bankai. Makes sense that you would only be given a basic weapon that develops along with you. Just like the zanpakuto.
Technically the vizards would be OP agaisnt the quincies because of their hollow transformations. But somehow the creator Kubo decided to not include it for some reason making them much weaker than how they're suppose to be

It took so long to click why his true Zabimaru name is Sou-ou(Sou-ou) Since i dont know Japanese. After seeing Twin Star Exorcist clips again for a bit, i realised its japanese title is Sousei no Onmyouji Sousei referring to Twin Star So sou is basically means twin/ 2 / double So Renji Bankai of snake (orochi-ou) and Monkey(Hih-ou) The 2 ou, whatever ou means, i just take it as King since its japanese is also ou and i would think its fitting for Monkey King and Snake King Full english would be Twin King Zabimaru And that is fcking fire of a bankai name
Renji may be stronger than some captains but this is not a requirement for him to become one or take the position of another... he needs to know how to manage the division and each one has different responsibilities in the soul society. Renji only has knowledge about the administration of the sixth division, that is, he will only become a captain if Byakuya dies or retires and sometimes it doesn't even happen... there are divisions that are commanded by specific families and currently the kuchiki family must have power in that division.
All quincies come from bach + he shares parts of his soul with them and when they die they return to him their power, experiences and memories all return to him , anyone who comes in contact with his soul.

Soken was a Sternritter and part of the Wandenriech for a time. That's now Haschwalth knows him.

Aizen was right, when shinigamis reach beyond their peak, the zampaktous merge with the user, Ichigo in final getsuga tenshou was connected by chains to zangetsu and aizen absorbed his zampaktou, now we're seeing the first "pure" shinigami doing it, his true bankai is connected to his body, Renji is OP as fuck.

No, Soul Reapsrs aren't becoming one with their Bankai. They are wearing their Bankai. Renji gained a monkey arm over his and a snake sword. Hence, the name So'o Zabimaru (twin kings)
Ichigl and Aizen became their Zanpakuto, and their Zanpakuto became them. Looking at Aizen was akin to looking at Kyoka Suigetsu, and Ichigo launched Getsuga Tenshou from his body. In other words, they transcended Zanpakuto. Everyone else is still very much using their Zanpakuto.

Without spoiling too much, you gotta put into context the fact that even as a sternritter, they already have an ability to be immortal as long as their conduit counterpart is alive. Therefore, Yhwach must have at the very least the ability to not die, and more. His ability cannot be weaker than immortality.

omg, this episode was straight up FIRE, the animation (sakuga) went up a notch, renji finally got his first W, rose's bankai was lit, and kensei got his brief moment to shine. i underestimated ray mysterio, i thought he was some goofball but he was fire, quite sad that he died so early on, but i cannot wait for rukia's time to shine next week!!! 🥶

Yeah, Yhwach freely offers his blood to Quincy willing to join his cause but they must have unwavering commitment to him this pact grants the Quincy immeasurable power HOWEVER once you die your experiences, your memories, and the power granted to you by your pact with Yhwach will return to Yhwach. Yhwach is counting on The Quincy to strengthen the kernel of power he grants them precisely so when that Quincy dies Yhwach can reclaim the fully matured version of that power without putting any work into actually training on how to use it himself. Although it's not really clear in the manga I suspect Yhwach needs Uryu because Yhwach could resurrect himself in the human world due to his blood being inside of Uryu

Well, Ichibee title "Manako Osho" has deeper meaning in manga (not spoilers, cuz he said it in this episode, it was cut from anime) - He came up with names "Shikai" and "Bankai"... BUT - He also knows the names of every Shikai and Bankai in existence - no matter where the owner is - AND he knows the names even if said Shikai or Bankai wasn't obtained yet - for example, if characters like Hisagi, Zaraki Kenpachi, Yumichika etc. etc. ever were to obtain Bankai - Ichibee already knows the name of their Bankai from the day they first grabbed the swords.

Ichibei named everything in the Soul Society. There were no names for these phenomena before he named them. Names in Bleach are metaphysical representations of power (think of it sort of like Plato's theory of forms/platonic concepts), the names of things are what gives them their strength, hence why Soul Reapers call out the names of their Zanpakuto for Shikai and Bankai. This is also why Renji wasn't as powerful as he could be due to not knowing his Zanpakuto's full name.

Short answer: Hollowfication is simply downright exhausting, thus proving impractical in extensive battles.
Visoreds cannot, or would rather not, hollowfy with their Bankai but can only use their masks with their Shikai, lasting for only an average of 3 minutes (with the exception of Mashiro Kuna, who can stay hollowfied for 15 hours probably due to her not releasing her shikai or use any kido, only breaking after she used a cero in the FKT arc; and Ichigo, who has an abnormally huge amount of reiatsu that even Unohana got fazed at, which allowed him to use his mask with his bankai for just a few seconds, then a few minutes, until at some point he mastered it.) Plus there's also the fact that Quincies can completely erase a hollow. In that sense, Vizoreds vs Sternritter is a bad matchup. Who knows what'd happen if an active Hollowfication gets hit with a Quincy's reishi...

In the Soul Society arc byakuya even says it takes hundreds of years for a captain to master their bankai. Makes sense that you would only be given a basic weapon that develops along with you. Just like the zanpakuto.
Technically the vizards would be OP agaisnt the quincies because of their hollow transformations. But somehow the creator Kubo decided to not include it for some reason making them much weaker than how they're suppose to be

Renji may be stronger than some captains but this is not a requirement for him to become one or take the position of another... he needs to know how to manage the division and each one has different responsibilities in the soul society. Renji only has knowledge about the administration of the sixth division, that is, he will only become a captain if Byakuya dies or retires and sometimes it doesn't even happen... there are divisions that are commanded by specific families and currently the kuchiki family must have power in that division.
