I’m having a hard time with not calling my service dog a pet. Can you please explain the difference? I love him either way. I know that he is considered medical equipment. I’m having a hard time treating him differently from my other pets.
Service animals aren’t considered pets. They are medical equipment due to being trained to help with a disability. If they were considered pets then they wouldn’t be allowed in public. (Non pet friendly places.) pets are just normal animals not trained to help with a disability. When SD are off duty they do act like pets, but still aren’t considered pets due to being trained to task for a disability. They are just as spoiled and allowed to have fun just like normal pets, but are allowed in public and have jobs. Hope that makes sense!
That’s a great idea! That’s awesome! I love that you guys did that! I wish I knew handlers in Montana, I’d love to do something like this!
