As mentioned below this is so enjoyble to watch because it is a classic retro caravan that they rebuilt themselves and not some modern or brand new $150k - $250k bling bling very heavy offroad caravan pulled by $150k landcruiser or RAM etc which is way out most viewers reach unless they go heavily into debt. It just shows you the average garden variety couple can get around in comfort without all the modern expensive toys that are way out of their reach unless they won Lotto
This TH-cam video was the most enjoyable one I've ever watched and believe me I have watched a lot of them. Totally love you two Thank you for sharing ❤❤
One of your best episodes Jack and Megan. Absolutely loving the spontaneous travelling. We are just around the corner from you and share the excitement of such a beautiful part of our country x
We spent 10 days there in August 2024, such a beautiful place. We used Minlaton as our base at their great caravan park and just drove all, over the Penisula. The national park is stunning , we saw an emu with 12 chicks down there. Great place
Great video guys. been following you for ages and they just keep getting better and better. Love the fact that you pin point the locations your visiting. Travel safe
Found you Guys on YT this week. Just finished watching this ep of the Innis National Park which I visited with my 84 year old Dad in March 2024. Such a grand vista of views. Having seen what you have done with Myrtle I think I am now regretting selling my 1973 Viscount caravan @ 10 years ago. Just look what I could have done with it! Great Ep, and yes I have Subscribed because I have my own YT channel too.
Hi Guys, if you get into sticky spots you can usually get out by unhooking the car and tying a shovel under you jockey wheel, so it works like a sled, the just tow the van backwards until you are out in the open. Easy, keep smiling. and having fun.
Hi guys. Just loving your videos. Like most of us in my age bracket, the aim was always to become a grey nomad. Unfortunately health issues killed my dreams. Videos like yours bring my dreams like I’m going along. I would never take on the challenge of refurbishing a caravan, but love what you have done with Myrtle. You both are just so down to earth and enjoying life. Good on you both and thank you for your videos. P.S. I’m a New South Welshman living in SA. It’s a great to live and visit.
Nice mirrors guys n thanks for showing the peninsular it's kon our list for next year it's adding so many new spots to check out thanks some spots I've not heard of so looking forward now even more
Great episode. With the caravan door, it's never going to stay shut while you're travelling the roads you intend to using that style of lock. For a bit of security to stop the door swinging open while you're moving get a couple of the bungee loops like are used on ute tonneau covers, attach the loops to the van and the hooks to the door. It'll stop the door getting ripped of.
I was going to ask half way through the video, were you heading to Tassie. Then I saw you transported! Haha I've been watching every episode since you were down in Tasmania last. I came across your videos while looking to travel somewhere in my backyard. I save your videos to watch until I can sit and relax, uninterrupted. You have become a comfort watch. Love your content! From a born and bred Tasmanian (Hobart).
Megan and Jack, Thank You for the last couple of episodes which I've just binge watched as I've been away on a holiday up the centre of Australia ❤❤. You have provided some fantastic ideas for another trip away 👏👏. Have loads of fun guys.
Guys you can do anything you just need to stop think and concentrate.if you fail and no damage try again Australia is a beautiful country your both young have fun enjoy and stay safe
We do have some great places here in SA as do most states in this great country. We have just come back from Streaky Bay in our 2021 Viscount. Also we travel with our pet Blue Tounge lizzard. They are one of the easiest pets to travel with. Loving your chanel. Cheers.
One better than your airfryer. Multicooker!! I purchased my a few months back and literally use it for everything. It’s an airfryer, pressure cooker, slow cooker and oven in 1. Well worth the $300 it cost me. I bought the Phillips 8 litre 20 in One. You can’t go wrong!
Well that's it, I'm now in nagging mode to the other half that we have to do the drive East and head to the Yorke Peninsula. Great video and hope date night was as beautiful as you guys!!
I really enjoyed that thanks. I’m from England your country is so beautiful your beaches are amazing. Maybe you should find an old shack by the beach and renovate it. That would be your next project. Thanks again for a great video. I love watching your videos. ❤️👍
You guys are so great on camera and the video's keep improving. I really notice all the little details megan adds into the edits. Fantastic job especially since you edit on the road on a little laptop. You really are the best travel channel in Australia & jack keep giving the haters crap 😂😂😂
Loved this video, I’m also guilty of driving straight past all of this twice now. Guess I’ll have to plan a visit next time I’m on the mainland because it looks stunning 🤩 I love these blog type posts with you two just yapping away about whatever you like. 😁 As always thanks for taking us along and Myrtle looks so good against the beach background, it’s like she belongs there. 😂
Truly brilliant vlog!!!! So cool to have Myrtle for the rainy day!! Could you mount the entry door so it swings the other way. The air would then tend to keep it closed? How about putting up a high mount rear view camera? I pick a spot that I can drive straight out of!!! Thank you for sharing your wonderful travels!!!!!!!
Hi Guys, while the door keeper got you out of trouble, don't leave it there because it can be used to lock you in your van while your vehicle is raided or stolen.
Another great video look forward to seeing them every week Maybe you should cover your tanks with some galvanised sheets of steel or checker plate as the plastic ones will get holes from stones flying up this will even happen on sealed roads protect the tank fittings as these are notorious for breaking off
Hi Guys, Today I passed an older restored caravan. It looked lovely just like your Myrtle. It was called Bessie! Have you thought of writing Myrtle on your van? Thought it was cute. Love your work.🥰
Love your van - Cool. Bit of advice from a caravaner fit a reversing camera, makes life easier and if you don’t have a set buy a pair of hand held UHFs for parking the van. We set our UHFs on channel 18 not 40 (no highway channel interaction) Enjoy.
I’ll grab the first spot I see since I like walking and hiking and the exercise is good! I wouldn’t rush off, I’d have to hang at Dolphin Bay a few days, WOW! Also, you both should have your own travel show on one of the networks, your content is excellent and well put together and you both look good together and work well together. 🤠
Camping on the beach at wauraltee is free camping. 100 metres from where you parked. Love this place. Take your lock off van door and just clean it add a bit of oil. Maybe pull it apart. Should work good as new. Not much goes wrong with them. Or just tap it gently with screwdriver usually works. Unless you have the lock button on. Cheers guys enjoy heaven. Xx
Loved the video as usual guys. I live in Adelaide so Yorke Peninsula was my playground when young so have seen it all. What makes this video for me is your interactions with each other. Safe travels.
I've taken my 24ft triple bunk road caravan down some rutted tracks and onto a beach, passing all the glammed up off road caravans all watching in disbelief. Nobody really needs all that independent trailing arm suspension setup for 90% of the "off roading" people do with those caravans. It is way overkill. Well done on giving it a crack.
Was at Yorke Peninsula last month and so nice to see it again. Innes National Park and the baby emus such a highlight! Were you able to get a view of Kangaroo Island while you were there?
I have been here 3 times and had no idea there was a pink lake IN the peninsula. Granted I always go in summer, maybe the pink lakes are not as pink then...? I also think you got the best view of Flaherty Beach (looked Whitsunday-esk) In summer it's still super clear but I didn't get as many pools of water like you did. Amazing Vlog - Loved it!
GREAT VIDEO....Loved this one . Yorke looks amazing!. Jack...just one question.....is the land cruiser easier to drive as a 4WD than the troupy? What is your preference now that you have had both.....i mean purely as a 4WD ??? hope you are both well. cheers monty!
One of our first group trips with our caravan on a remote corrugated dirt road we heard someone saying over the 4WD channel that they were picking up random items on the middle of the track ..and yes when we got to our next stop we found that the caravan door had rattled open.. After lots of laughter (from the rest of the group ..just embarrassment from us) we never forget now to lock the door every time and also invested in a extra strong latch as well and no we didn’t lose anything including our outside camping mat and a pair of sandals 😂😂
Don't those old door locks have a feature where you turn the inside handle all the way to the end and it remains open? so if you turn it back to the middle it works like normal with the key.
I'm totally the person who'll snag the first carpark that I can find! I can't stand driving around and around trying to find a carpark! I'll walk from the furthest end of the carpark if need be, it doesn't bother me and quite often I can pull up and park and get into the shop faster than others who are trying to get the closest to the entrance!
Your travels are all offroad. And for this reason you should look at an offroad trailer like the Conquer or Ecco or an offroad caravan. Both are available in good used versions. Mertyle is purely a tar road weekend caravan. It's structure is not for offroad in any format. I guess it's a wooden frame van.
@itsJackandMegan I'm assuming your videos are a week or more ahead. Place would have been packed this weekend being a long weekend during school holidays. Also usually the kick off for the tourism season so will be quite busy until after Easter next year
