    Problem Description: A point P is 30 mm and 50 mm respectively from two straight lines which are at right angles to each other. Draw a rectangular hyperbola from P within 10 mm distance from each line

      This infact is a rectangular Hyperbola as the asymptotes are at 90 deg angle to each other.

    How do we determine which distance to be which, I mean you took 50 mm to be the vertical line and 30 mm to be horizontal. This is not explicitly mentioned in the question, so can we swap them and take 30 mm vertical and 50 mm horizontal?
