A society that is mentally well benefits all of society and conversely a mentally ill society is incredibly unwell & suffers - for that reason alone IF for no other. No one deserves to suffer in mental anguish like this, & through no fault of their own. I am always surprising how many of us can't rationalize what is clear or right unless we ourselves are or have experienced the very thing we oppose? as a trans man, yeah, this should be covered. having a body you can enjoy is directly tied to your mental health. if i can get my trans healthcare covered there's no reason someone who isn't trans shouldn't get identical procedures covered too. it's basically for the same reason anyways- he had dysphoria from having a body that didn't function the way it typically does for men.
