The original "people of the way" would have been the ancestors of the Magi priests and not necessarily the people that make up the Persians. These ancestors come from Aryans migrating from the west very closely aligned and integrated in with Irish Druidic culture. In short, the astrological origins viewed here as coming from the Persians is significantly older than Persian time. Irish Druidry, Amenist Egyptians and the very earliest Aryan based ancestors of the Persians Magi are these "people of the way".
