Hi Michele, love the furniture! Not that you are asking, but figured I’d make a suggestion on the furniture layout. How about putting the sofa directly across from the fireplace (so it would be facing the fireplace), and the two chairs to the left and right of the fireplace facing the sofa (the chairs would be slightly angled inward). I think things would flow better that way, especially as you enter the space. You don’t want to see backs of chairs when you first enter the room. Again, just a suggestion! Good luck finding a table! RH has amazing, low-profile ones.
I’m for the change of positioning..i dislike couches with their back to a window and when there is a fire I much prefer them positioned toward the fire for toasty toes (not that Las Vegas needs that)…
I have had a wool velveteen couch for over 50 years. It is a hide-a-bed that gives the cushions incredible support. We had the 3 cushions upgraded to heavy-duty foam one time. Bottom line, Michelle, your new couch should hold up fabric-wise beautifully for years to come. You may wear out before it does.
Michele! You are going to fall deeper and deeper in love with your velvet pieces! I felt the same hesitation when we bought ours four years ago! With four boys, two dogs and frequent entertaining they still look like new! And don't get me started on swivel chairs. I will never own a stationary club chair again. For coffee table? Yes, Resto has great pieces but I'd recommend something like a Noguchi table in the center + Eames walnut stool between chairs. Or, 6 Eames wire base low tables which grouped in the center will look so next level. Area rug? Can't go wrong with something by Maharam. Have fun!
I am 55 and I love all cream makeup only. Powders and traditional makeup seem so flat compared to creams. Wish I found creams years ago. Love your couch!

Yes, yes, yes. Love the furniture, both the color and the texture. I think I might have voted for the slightly darker one that was synthetic. This looks warm and inviting in that room, like late day sunshine, just glowing. Of the makeup, I have to have that Plasma Lip Compound in Fawn -- perfect color and amount of gloss, I think. The weather in LA has been weird too, and humid (like you, not a fan) but I have to say I am enjoying the coolness. As for grasshoppers, such destructive insects. I am a big nature lover but gophers and grasshoppers in my yard, well, throw in squirrels, uh, not so much. Thanks for this delightful video, Michele. 😘
We had navy blue velvet sofas for years and they were terrific. Easy to give a little wipe with a slightly damp cloth, and the fabric held up well despite the fact it was used all the time.
The weather has been really “off” here in So Cal too. All my coworkers have been complaining about the gloom. But, I’ve said “don’t worry, it’ll be 115 soon enough 😂”. Love the upholstery choice - very soothing to look at ❤
The restoration hardware furniture turned out beautifully. I was one that suggested going with the darker fabric for durability, but that wool is fabulous❤ very classy..
I could see a large square upholstered ottoman/coffee table that could work either as a table (perhaps with a large tray) or as a place to prop up your feet. OR, a free form table in driftwood or stone would be spectacular with your modern ambiance. 😊

I agree with you on the Bobbi Brown powder bronzers. Unlike many people, I use powder bronzer in the summer when my skin is not as dry. I just purchased Stonestreet and I’m loving it. The Jones Road gel looks like a nice alternative. I think there is a retail store in Montclair which is not that far from me and I may have to check it out. Be well.

The grasshoppers story remind me of what happens in my neck of the woods in Texas. We get crickets like that. Exactly like you mentioned how they climb up buildings a foot up. Also Junebugs!! The ones that fly in your hair and fly at you at stick on you. Uuuuuggh lol

How about major artwork? You don’t have to spend an arm and a leg. Your walls are begging for it. The bigger the pillows the better. There is no such thing as a pillow that is too large. You make great choices in furniture and know your style, which is half the battle. Enjoy your new furniture!
I suggest two ottomans and maybe an oval coffee table and suggest a smaller table between the two singles. Have you thought of some houseplants since your living room gets awesome light.

Michelle I’m in Colorado. We’ve had a very wet Spring with a moth infestation. They are really nasty. I kinda feel your pain about the grasshoppers. Bugs 😮
