There is a devilishly fun roguelite hiding in Mighty Doom, but the way it’s been buried under all the most egregious money-making schemes in mobile gaming is hugely disappointing. The first few hours are fun, but it’s not long before a super-powered difficulty spike hits like a BFG blast to the chest. This invisible paywall and the free-to-play speed bumps that accompany it turn Mighty Doom into a teeth-grindingly frustrating experience.

Its a great game to play in short bursts and super addictive to come back to each day to level up your weapons.
There's no need to spend any money if you replay earlier levels to grind.
You have to realise this isn't a game to rush to complete, it's one to come back to for an hour a day. I'm level 65 and the first 8 stages are really easy now.
The problem is the farming that's necessary. It makes for a subpar experience.
The game really isn't that bad. To me, purchases with real money are nowhere NEAR mandatory, the game just takes a bit of skill
Get back in a week and tell me if you could beat level 10 without spending any money
@@fabianoenglerneto129 course you can. You just have to grind the earlier levels for a while. It's not gonna be quick, but it's definitely do-able.

Mobile gaming used to be great. Now it's synonymous with microtransactions. Honestly, people are going to start avoiding Android/iOS games and just emulate classic games on their phones instead. It's what I'm doing.

Wow. They REALLY bullied this game. The game is pretty fun and if you go into it without spending money and just playing it daily to complete daily challenges it goes a lot smoother.

This game is worst than gambling, because when you win you lose, trading money for a quick dopamine rush. This game is designed to prey upon vulnerable and often isolated young men.

I've played it a bit now and kind of agree that it feels like there is a paywall, but it's more like at level 8 in all green gear. Not sure if the reviewer's expectation was that all 9 levels were going to be like the first 4.

This is like Tomb Raider Reloaded essentially but the saving grace for Tomb Raider Reloaded is that it has the Netflix version which doesn’t have any micro transactions or ads in it and feels more rewarding to play unlike Mighty Doom which only has the one version if you wanna play it.
TR Reloaded Netflix version is pretty solid fun for a week

Game is great, don't need to spend money on it. There's a skill match there, and a grind level to it. But if you tackle it with the 30min/day mindset, it doesn't bother me at all.

Im at chapter 7, you need a LOT of stats to even get to stage 20+. Its very P2W. But still fun, just gonna do dailys and events
You should look up the re roll exploit especially if you’re going for a certain build it will help you get the perks you want during runs in the same exploit also helps you if you’re about to die

It's sad bc the little gameplay is fun but, makes no sense to make different slayers that have different abilities to make you overpowered. Very money hungry for no reason.

Becaue the game is perma-connected to the internet, if you shut it down just before you die, when you reload it will put you back to the beginning of that stage with the level of health you originally started it with.

"Monetary nightmare" is quite the exaggeration. I'm level 28 and beat stage 5 so far without spending money on anything. Do the daily challenges to earn thousands of coins. If you don't like games where you die constantly and have to work for upgrades then you shouldn't play any of the Doom games.

It's a very similar design to Archero and Zombero both mobile games. But this is just doom ripping off those game designs, re skinning the design and capitalizing off the doom name
For this franchise, yes. But if you look up a very old Mac game called "BOOM", it's kind of like Bomber Man + DOOM that looks like that game. i'd argue that it was even cuter than this game.
