❤ this is a fantastic sanctuary and I'm sure these people work very hard to help these animals. I do think in the Texas heat hpn needs shade they don't have any. They have houses but no shade😮

These sanctuaries are very needed. Kudos to those who dedicate their time, money, love to educate the public on these beautiful wolves.

Long before there were sanctuaries and things like this, I had a hybrid timber wolf as a pet when I was a kid. His mother was a pup from a litter where their mother was killed in a trap. My uncle bred her with some AKA Super Shepherd. I got one of the male puppies. He was my best friend and companion as a boy growing into a man. He was undoubtedly the smartest animal I've ever been around. It was almost like we could communicate without words. He would howl at the moon and sometimes in the morning; simply amazing. Our local vet would make me muzzle him, all the while admonishing me for having something near me that would undoubtedly turn on me one day! My reply was ALWAYS...he'll NEVER turn on me. He never did.

❤ I visited this place last year. It is fabulous. If you are in the Houston area, please go see it. Perfect place for kids on afternoon adventure, they will learn a lot.

Do they have any place to cool off inside with air conditioning?

I once had a male and female Siberian Husky. Closest things to wolves. I had to establish myself as "alpha" of their pack. I also knew a Vietnam vet who owned a hybrid wolf/Alsatian dog. He was a handful. Took care of that dog for over a year when the vet had to go into the VA Hospital for cancer from Agent Orange. He died there and his dog bonded to me but there was no way I could keep him. Trying to place him was a nightmare but I finally did. Turns out most rescue places for dogs won't take a wolf/dog hybrid. That's sad.

Not a fan here. Dealing with apex predators as a cattleman does not bring joy to my life.

I don't know what it is with some people and animals. I don't dislike them but I don't go nuts like many do.
