I’m here! Sorry I’m a bit late Edit 1: Question, since you said that this will be the last version of the mini wings and that you’re working on the full size right now, what might you change on the full size? Move the base onto the side so you might be able to wear it? Also when you perfect your design & are happy with it what do you do then ; start with how to put feathers on it and adjust things from there? Lastly why do you make the wings in the first place? For fun, a hobby, maybe you’re into cosplay? What is the reason?
Sorry in advance this reply is long. V.3 of the life size wings will have a much smaller back plate. The back plate will be able to be easily taken apart, so if a part breaks a replacement can be easily put in. It will have improved hinge design, and few other improvements. In the video “cosplay wings (V.2)” the wings were put on a stand, so I could put the feathers on without damaging them. The extra PVC around the back plate was just to hold it. The back plate that holds all the electronics on the full size V.2 cosplay wings is very bulky, so I’m working on making it much smaller. Like 8in x 6in instead of the 21in x 12in that it is (same thickness 4-6 in). The “feathers” are complicated because they have to move with the wings. So making the “feathers” attach to the wings while also making them move only a specific amount for each “feather”, will take some time to figure out. I want to have a fully finished pair of wings before I make the video about V.3. So that it is just one video and is actually completed compared to my previous designs. The purpose of the mini wings is to be a proof of concept for the life size ones. The wings are for cosplay but I’m not much of a cosplayer, so other people can use my designs to make their own wings when I finish V.3. I’ll make a community post on my channel to show the progress of cosplay wings V.3.
