great video as always! small correction though, the reason the license plates are from different states is because those are the states the manufacturers have their US headquarters located in and hence thats where the cars are registered(Ferrari is in New Jersey, Mercedes is in georgia, Ford is in michigan etc)
Was thinking the same thing. The Michigan/Ford was the obvious one. Mercedes and Georgia plates ? Yeap, they also happen to have a little sports facility in ATL that they pay to have their name on.
Texas, is huge truck market, even compared to other states. Maybe partially why they arrived in SUV's. Rental car companies usually stock more Trucks in Texas also.
Bottas is easily the fittest driver as he rides his bicycle (pedal/push bike) in almost every city where he races and his rides are typically 50-100km (depending on the city). I know because I follow him on Strava. He used to ride on the race track too during the track inspection/scouting until F1 banned it. He's even participated in gravel bike races and put out very respectable power numbers. It probably helps that his Aussie girlfriend Tiffany Cromwell is an actual pro cyclist on the women's world tour and has won a few races!
I just watched the amazing documentary, “senna”… and that part was heartbreaking. To hear Sid Watkins talk about checking ayrton’s pupils… knowing he was fatally injured, and watching him exhale his last breath…😢 what a dark day. RIP Ayrton (and Roland Ratzenberger who is so often forgotten)
"stock standard Stelvio", I'm sorry are you taking a piss? That's 505bhp Quadrifoglio which is arguably a more sporty and better handling car than your standard DBX.
Kym - your Charger is mechanically identical to Albon’s car. And the Georgia plates for Merc are due to these cars being part of the Merc press fleet. Their US headquarters IIRC are in Atlanta Georgia.
I just wanted to take a moment to appreciate the ‘flash edit’ of the photos of every car in precisely the same spot at the very start of this video. I thought that was super cool, and must’ve taken some significant work and planning to get all the shots, and edit it together so seamlessly. Thanks kym!
Great vid, Kym! Thanks for the continued great content. I know you've discussed travel in many other videos, but would be curious to know if you leverage any rewards credit cards for all the international flights or other loyalty programs that you couldn't do it without?
I thought exactly the same. What's the point in advertising Net Zero Emissions if they are cheating on the initiative all the time. It requires an audit of how much fuel is being spend in all the surrounding economic activities that help the functioning of every GP. Not just moving paddocks, cars and teams.
To be fair, the carbon footprint of doing so is only a small fraction of the carbon footprint that the series and teams incur when attending a race weekend. Austin to Atlanta is just over 900 miles. Each of the trucks would have used less than 130 gallons of diesel at 7.2MPG. Which for comparison sake is still 50% more fuel efficient than an F1 car. And that’s still a sliver of the iceberg for carbon created by a race weekend by F1. Each team likely spends more on diesel generation for trackside power than they do moving press cars around.
@@kylem324 you are just commenting about this one and only thing. But they are doing a lot of this things in the background. Like hundreds of times. You need to consider the big picture. This topic is huge.
@@artifundio1 I literally referenced the amount of carbon created by the trucks is the smallest of factors contributing to the carbon footprint to run a GP, whether for one team or the whole event. My point is if net zero 2030 goal or a manufacturers questionable commitment to it are the issue, it would be absurd to level that criticism at a corporate activity that has the least impact on their carbon footprint. Is Merc interested in reducing the footprint? Looking back 30 years of corporate decisions… within reason absolutely. But they are still a car company. And just like every other team in the paddock, their business at the core is selling a product and F1 is a marketing exercise with a side of R&D. So of course their going market their primary business. They don’t get to 2030 without selling cars today.

why didn't Daniel's entourage (or him himself) sit in the cab of the truck?! surely that's 'legal' in Texas. would've looked cool and made for some neat photos of him or his peeps hopping in/out of the truck.

1. Bottas is a legend for coming in on a Harley 2. Ferrari and Mercedes did it RIGHT by coming in cars that made sense. (team sponsored cars) 3. Everyone else.. man.. the push for electric cars is embarrassing and a Chrysler 300s? Should have given them something more impressive or at least something more "American" like a hellcat/demon, gt350/gt500, or a zl1 vette/camaro. But it is what it is. ON TO MEXICO!
I was thinking the same thing...his "team" of people (personal entourage or F1 team) probably met him a very short distance away and he mounted the motorcycle for show...so he could show up on an "American" branded Harley Davidson (manufactured in the United States???).

The Austin GP was my first F1 experience and it did not disappoint! Love the people love the atmosphere! Love your channel! Safe travels!
Awesome! Thank you!

An Acura integra type S is basically a civic Type R and retails around 52000 usd. Fantastic car!
Super cool video interesting all the different cars and car service sounds top notch

Danny drove the E pickup around Austin in a video, I saw it online.
That takes the cake for coolest car.
From all these cars, Bottas takes the crown.
Yes, the Harley was a cool flex. I'm kinda surprised his team allowed him to take a motorbike on the streets in the USA.

I've seen that f150 Ev in person before.
Ferrari's US HQ is in New Jersey and Mercedes' is in Atlanta Georgia and this is why the plates are from NJ and GA respectively
Great cars to see this weekend ! 👍
Me waiting for someone to roll up in a hellcat or a demon to one of the USGP's

Thanks for the updates! I wonder why no drivers show up in a New C8 Corvette ZO6?
I bet you can't get one! Aren't they highly sought?
Kym time, lets go!
Everyone always says Danny is the honorary American. No way. It’s Valterri by a mile
Honorary Australian taken by Bottas already 😅
Howdy Kym. Love your videos but just curious why you don't post much on Threads anymore?
They only put 24 hours in a day
Those Canadians LOVE "their" challengers and chargers🤣🤣🤣

RED Bull did well with the Fords.
Thanks Kym for an awesome video with so much extra detail, eg. Most stolen car and Valteri on a Harley! 😍
How did u get involved in F1, it’s so cool and I love what u do! I wish I worked in f1

He might’ve. I didn’t see him sunday
5:33 they all talk about sustainability ecc and then they do idiocies like this. I hate the amount of hypocrisy all around F1
Mercedes North American headquarters is in Georgia, Ferraris is in New Jersey.
That's been stated already.
Didn’t expect Bottas to be a Harley street glide person. Figured he would be on a livewire or a Yamaha FZ07
Honda 90 step through 😅🤣
Civic type R is about fastest stock front wheel drive ever on track. Universally praised by reviewers.
G'day from QLD Australia 🦘🐨 New Subscriber 🦘 great video 👍
Stock standard kym, please ahaha. My 2004 corolla is stock standard, I'd love a stelvio or type r
If Bottas biked there, he would have had to nap before doing anything else, and left way early! 🤭

I “drove” Daniel Ricciardo from Nashville to Austin…..
Bélanger is pronounced Bay - lawn - Jay. Hope that helps 🙂
Nissan Armada, fits 8 people and 6 americans.
It can actually fit 12 Brits!
It is pronounced « Baylanjay » 😊
From Ferrari's, Mclaren, Merc, Lambo's etc to a Dodge. Quite a drop!! When they are in Europe these guys are rolling in exotics, lol.
Austin rides should have been Hummers, Cadillacs and monster trucks!
E Ray Corvettes 😅

Glad you like them!
I get it you don't speak french but you only need 30 sec to find and watch a video on youtube on how to pronounce Bélanger 😒
