I have this monitor over a year now and it's still the best bang for the buck. It's not perfect but still it is very well made monitor with good specifications. Pros: Big size 32" 1440p screen, flicker free, high contrast (over 3500:1), good brightness even in HDR (over 550 nits), very good color reproduction 8+2-bit (1 B of colors) and vibrant, punchy picture. Plus are 165Hz refresh rate, Freesync and also G-sync compatibility. Great for every day use, text, surfing and games. Cons: disadvantage of VA technolgy - black smearing sometimes is noticeable, monitor is pretty heavy and has massive legs. But, again, I prefer higher contrast, vibrant colors and brightness so I am for VA technology instead "washed" IPS if you don't have money for Oled. All in all, for the money (around 400-500 euros) this Philips monitor is still the best buy option.
I'm thinking about buying the 27inch curved version of this monitor but I couldn't find any reviews of it. It's priced around 220€ here which makes it one of the cheapest 1440p monitors here and it looks decent on paper. What are your toughts about it, is it worth buying?
Va has better colour contrast and IPs has no ghosting which is basically darker images creating slight after images while moving quickly so If your more into fps games IPs is better
These monitors don't come with a power brick because the brick is built inside the monitor. Voltage transformers can produce slight "coil whine" ... that's why I prefer a seperate brick, which can be hidden underneath the desk and make the monitor less heavy as well.
skpetical if i get this monitor or a Philips 288E2UAE IPS 28" 4K. Va´s have better contrast overall than IPS, not sure if i picked higher refreshrate with deeper blacks or go 4k and have better colours.
"AMD FreeSync" isn`t only "good enough and for €300 you can't expect more especially no G-Sync", quite the opposite, it`s important and the basic version "AMD FreeSync" or higher levels thereof (PRO or Premium) is the way to go for all AMD Radeon graphics cards users ... "Nvidia G-Sync" is for Nvidia GeForce graphics cards, that's what the "G" in this name stands for ... both systems have the same task and technical background, but they are only compatible with each other to a lesser extent, put simply ... AMD and Nvidia also point this out themselves and that's why they award appropriate certifications to signal a corresponding quality implementation ... and that's why this is strictly speaking the most important point when choosing a monitor for your system to get the best out of each in this special case of the monitor shown here, I see things a little differently, because for €300 I expect more than just the basic version of "AMD FreeSync", my €185 gaming monitor from "iiyama" with 24" IPS FullHD 0.8ms 165Hz panel already has the very good "AMD FreeSync Premium" version installed, so it`s also possible with cheaper monitors if the manufacturer wants it

Well, this one was great, but since I haven't tried the curved one, I can't just recommend it straight up!
Same here! Have you bought it? If you have could you share your thoughts? I want to buy it for my xbox s and later on I will use it as my pc monitor
@@MaginaSVagina I didn't. Couldn't find any reviews about it anywhere and missed out the sale so i bought a fhd 280hz monitor instead.

good point I still have a monitor that has a high pitch frequency coming from it while in standby. Took me a minute to figure that.
Is VA good enough these days? Seems like the tech has gotten better but will this totally eliminate smearing?
It's coming In my country around this weekend
Thanks a lot! FINALLY decided upon a new monitor 🤣👍😘
Do you think a monitor like this is a good option for a PS5 gamer? Or is the 165kz a waste?
I'd say it is! The extra 19Hz won't hurt, you might use it for something else some other time.
im using the 27in 170hz verzion with xsx
