I will pick a moto x for 2 reasons 1- I have an iPad ( and IMO the iPad is a bigger iPhone ) and there's no reason to get an iPhone because they are identical. 2- although I love iOS I also like android.
I also like both. Although I mainly own Apple Products, I am looking in the market for a cool android tablet. Maybe a Galaxy Tab or something. If whomever enjoy's their choice of preference, then I will be happy.
I find it really amazing that you, uravrgconsumer,tld,unboxtherapy,mkbhd, and the rest of the big tech guys work together and help each other in producing videos instead of fighting for subscribers. Actually it doesn't. People are really turned off by the 6+. I mean not Austin but I think 5.5 is the absolute freaking max, but the 6+ being 6.22in physically is a turn off for most.

I recently purchased the iPhone 6 Plus. I will have to say it's incredible, yet not for everyone. It is a massive phone and will feel very uncomfortable for many. I feel in love since I touched it, however. It will depend on the user. The second best thing about the iPhone 6 Plus will definitely have to be the camera. Hands down, the camera is simply...incredible. Lastly, the battery life will get you through two total days of light use, and more than one day of pounding use. I went with the 64 GB model because buying a nearly $1000 dollar phone I figured I'll get some storage with that processing monster. PS...it's a FAST phone!
I love how everyone goes by the specs instead of the actual performance of the phone. My wife has just recently bought the 6 and I have the s5 and I totally regret not buying the 6. The iPhone 6/6+ camera has an 8mp camera but it takes better photos than the higher mp cameras on samsungs/htc etc. and the speed of the phone is great. It feels better than the s5 as the s5 feels flimsy in the hand because it's plastic compared to the 6 and 6+ metal back
I'm gonna buy this phone no matter what cost. I'm not worried abt the ram. If the OS is good, then the ram will match the OS. Even bendgate is not a problem for me because I'm not an idiot to keep big phones in tight jeans.

finally some positivity about this phone! I bought this phone yesterday without much knowledge but AFTER i bought it (for some stupid reason) I did a ton of research and I wish i got the 6s plus :(
very detailed video first of all. all specifics of apple newest flagship phones were mentioned, very good real life examples to show how well these phones perform under actual circumstances. what phone do you own austin? i have a iphone 6 64 gold while i do love it i wish i had gotten the 6 plus for 3 reasons. 1.i like to be able to landscape settings and the homescreen, 2. i love watching videos and movies on a 5.5 1080p display, 3. i love the fact that it has a 3,000 mAH battery powering the phablet sized screen but sampling other photos from other smartphones o the 6 and 6plus the 6plus not only has the same retina hd display but it has an even LARGER display that makes photos even brighter and sharper. and also i have seen every speed test of all top rated smartphones from samsung to lg and nokia and apple and apple may lack in ram and cpu power but if you watch the app system and all round speed comparison, it becomes clear that the engineering of apple SOC system seem to be working and create a faster environment not to mention efficient which is what everyone wants.
I'm kinda sad Apple didn't make this phone future-proof. I mean, sooner or later, 4K will become standard, and I am sure iOS 10 will need at least 2GB of RAM.

Your videos are really well made! I appreciate all the info that you're cramming into each package. The only thing that I can point out is to maintain better control on your rising and falling pitch. Sometimes when you get into the higher registers it's difficult to discern what you're saying. It also feels like you speed through what you're saying when in the high pitch mode. Otherwise you're videos are really good :)
If the primary specs for the A8 are worse than almost every other phone, why is it so good? Are those numbers assuming workloads are 64 bit optimized? More transistors than the Note 3? More threads? More calculations per clock?
On paper sure but you can't compare processors using only gigahertz, a 4GHz Pentium 4 would be absolutely crushed by a 2GHz Core i7 today for example. Apple went for a very wide core with high IPC (not that dissimilar to a modern Intel Core actually) to deliver solid performance at low clock speeds and low power draw.
I do know that specs don't mean everything but I played around with a s5 it felt a lot more snappier and quicker the the iPhone 5s I have the main reason I want the note 4 is the screen and the size and I can't forget to leave out the holy spen lol you know what I mean for me the note4 seems like the perfect phone for other people it may not be.
A very informative and helpful review, I agree with most of what you’ve said, the iPhone 6 Plus is a great all round phone. I’m a first time iPhone user, and I love it!
I don't get one (or few actually) thing/s with you tech reviewers, when you review an Android phone with 720p screen its a mediocre phone, but when iPhone comes out with 720p it is well enough (which I agree it is enough but as i recall some of you called z3 compact low res screen phone). When iPhone has 1080p screen on 5.5 phone its superb, but for android it is considered to be well expected to say at least. Why its more than enough. When iPhone comes out with 1.4 ghz processor it is amazing, android with less than 2 ghz is meh. Who on earth trusts benchmark tests anymore? Of course iPhone will have better results, it is like Xbox 360 or PS3 they can run the newest games with 256 RAM because games were purpose built for only that device, same as iOS apps or iOS benchmarks. Same test needs to run on many android phones with many different internals but test for iPhone is purpose built for iOS. iPhone is a great phone don't get me wrong, but other than pushing manufacturers to build ever faster devices push Google to produce more optimized android.
I can comment about the processor. While there are some discrepancies moving platforms, they generally are a decent representation. I actually find your comment the complete opposite by trusting the ghz and not a calibrated test, Who is it to judge a processors clock speed and cores when you fail to look at how the cpu was built, How wide is the instruction width, what about L1 cache, whats the integer throughput of such a device. All of this is independent of the clock speed and core, which you fail to account for. Do a little research on the Cyclone core. It may surprise you why its amazing. as for the platform jump, you should realize how the benchmark numbers are generated. I know for one thing Geekbench3 can jump platforms quite effectively because of how the scores are calibrated. The numbers are relative rather than absolute. meaning rather than defining what "1 point" is (which leads to ambiguity once you jump platforms) all scores are relative to the number 2500 (which is the calibrated score off a i5 2520 running windows. This removes the platform jump, as you can now just say "this chip is 1.5 faster than the base" or "2x faster than the base" by dividing your score by 2500. as for your quote. of "purpose built code". Isn't that the point of a bench? if you have a device that is "purpose built" then you assume EVERY app will behave this way since developers can. a bench is for real world performance, and if there is an advantage that iOS devs get then so be it, because in other apps, the same advantage is still there.

I'll never understand how someone can put a $1000 phone in their back pocket and sit on it, then complain that they bent it. I won't be buying the iPhone 6 Plus simply because I don't need something that large for my daily needs. But if I DID for some reason then there is NO WAY I'd ever sit on the bloody thing. IT'S A COMPUTER!!! You don't sit on computers. You wouldn't put your iPad in your backpack and then sit on that so why would you sit on your phone?
Benjamin Christiansen 1) Your samsung is made of plastic, so it's more durable. 2) Many androids use a magnesium chassis to keep it's rigidness. 3) The 6 and 6+ are the two thinnest phones available today. 4) The phone's made of aluminium, not steel! Of course it will bend under pressure. unlike phones such as the m8 which uses a curved back to distribute pressure.
Why does evaryone say that 6+ is difficult to be handheld with a single hand ? The phone is not big ! You just have small hands :D I'm really pleased with the size of the new 6+. Most people just have small girly sized hands...

Nice review. I ordered an iPhone 6 Plus after spending a little time with it at the local Apple store and at AT&T. At first I thought it was too big. However, after a very short time I got quite used to it. In fact, it made all other phones seem almost toy like. Amazing how fast our perceptions change when we start using a new product. I have been reading online that most 6 Plus buyers feel the same way. There is no going back to a smaller phone.
I have just purchased the iphone 6 plus although I haven't received it yet. The main reason for this change is it was competitive against the Note 4 and it doesn't have samsung laggy software. I'm surprised it only has 1 GB of ram but I find that most people use IOS devices these days because they don't get as choppy or laggy as Android devices (especially samsung)

Well it kinda does, but the OS doesn't really support it because of the 1gb. Plus like he said, tabs will close out too. I'll just stick with my One M7. I was considering switching, but not after that...
its not like 1 gb is that much smaller then 2 gb(especially since its 1.5 gb useful on many devices), sure your android can run 20% more apps and multitask, especially your 3gb android that is double, but its not an end of the world thing, hey hopefully iOS does gain multitasking support as rumored.

The iPhone 6 Plus seriously has a good camera. ISO 32? and hardly any noise at 2000. Wow.
Ramon McNally Noise is definitely there (picks up a lot at 200+) but assuming you have at least a little light to work with it really isn't bad.

very detailed video first of all. all specifics of apple newest flagship phones were mentioned, very good real life examples to show how well these phones perform under actual circumstances. what phone do you own austin? i have a iphone 6 64 gold while i do love it i wish i had gotten the 6 plus for 3 reasons. 1.i like to be able to landscape settings and the homescreen, 2. i love watching videos and movies on a 5.5 1080p display, 3. i love the fact that it has a 3,000 mAH battery powering the phablet sized screen but sampling other photos from other smartphones o the 6 and 6plus the 6plus not only has the same retina hd display but it has an even LARGER display that makes photos even brighter and sharper. and also i have seen every speed test of all top rated smartphones from samsung to lg and nokia and apple and apple may lack in ram and cpu power but if you watch the app system and all round speed comparison, it becomes clear that the engineering of apple SOC system seem to be working and create a faster environment not to mention efficient which is what everyone wants.
I'm kinda sad Apple didn't make this phone future-proof. I mean, sooner or later, 4K will become standard, and I am sure iOS 10 will need at least 2GB of RAM.

I needed this review! I'm getting an iPhone 6 Plus in a few days, and I wanted to know more about it... This is the best review I've ever watched about a phone.
Your videos are really well made! I appreciate all the info that you're cramming into each package. The only thing that I can point out is to maintain better control on your rising and falling pitch. Sometimes when you get into the higher registers it's difficult to discern what you're saying. It also feels like you speed through what you're saying when in the high pitch mode. Otherwise you're videos are really good :)

If the primary specs for the A8 are worse than almost every other phone, why is it so good? Are those numbers assuming workloads are 64 bit optimized? More transistors than the Note 3? More threads? More calculations per clock?

Because apple optimizes their OS. HTC does the same. However most use android and a skin like lg and samsung.
On paper sure but you can't compare processors using only gigahertz, a 4GHz Pentium 4 would be absolutely crushed by a 2GHz Core i7 today for example.
Apple went for a very wide core with high IPC (not that dissimilar to a modern Intel Core actually) to deliver solid performance at low clock speeds and low power draw.

I do know that specs don't mean everything but I played around with a s5 it felt a lot more snappier and quicker the the iPhone 5s I have the main reason I want the note 4 is the screen and the size and I can't forget to leave out the holy spen lol you know what I mean for me the note4 seems like the perfect phone for other people it may not be.

A very informative and helpful review, I agree with most of what you’ve said, the iPhone 6 Plus is a great all round phone. I’m a first time iPhone user, and I love it!
I don't get one (or few actually) thing/s with you tech reviewers, when you review an Android phone with 720p screen its a mediocre phone, but when iPhone comes out with 720p it is well enough (which I agree it is enough but as i recall some of you called z3 compact low res screen phone). When iPhone has 1080p screen on 5.5 phone its superb, but for android it is considered to be well expected to say at least. Why its more than enough. When iPhone comes out with 1.4 ghz processor it is amazing, android with less than 2 ghz is meh. Who on earth trusts benchmark tests anymore? Of course iPhone will have better results, it is like Xbox 360 or PS3 they can run the newest games with 256 RAM because games were purpose built for only that device, same as iOS apps or iOS benchmarks. Same test needs to run on many android phones with many different internals but test for iPhone is purpose built for iOS. iPhone is a great phone don't get me wrong, but other than pushing manufacturers to build ever faster devices push Google to produce more optimized android.
I can comment about the processor. While there are some discrepancies moving platforms, they generally are a decent representation.
I actually find your comment the complete opposite by trusting the ghz and not a calibrated test, Who is it to judge a processors clock speed and cores when you fail to look at how the cpu was built, How wide is the instruction width, what about L1 cache, whats the integer throughput of such a device. All of this is independent of the clock speed and core, which you fail to account for. Do a little research on the Cyclone core. It may surprise you why its amazing.
as for the platform jump, you should realize how the benchmark numbers are generated. I know for one thing Geekbench3 can jump platforms quite effectively because of how the scores are calibrated. The numbers are relative rather than absolute. meaning rather than defining what "1 point" is (which leads to ambiguity once you jump platforms) all scores are relative to the number 2500 (which is the calibrated score off a i5 2520 running windows. This removes the platform jump, as you can now just say "this chip is 1.5 faster than the base" or "2x faster than the base" by dividing your score by 2500.
as for your quote. of "purpose built code". Isn't that the point of a bench? if you have a device that is "purpose built" then you assume EVERY app will behave this way since developers can. a bench is for real world performance, and if there is an advantage that iOS devs get then so be it, because in other apps, the same advantage is still there.
You realize that there's more to a screen than just the resolution right? As for the cpu, its all about optimization.
Reminds me of console vs PC. Console games are specifically built for them but PC games are like a one size fits some but not all.
With smartphones it's all about ppi and not resolution.

I'll never understand how someone can put a $1000 phone in their back pocket and sit on it, then complain that they bent it. I won't be buying the iPhone 6 Plus simply because I don't need something that large for my daily needs. But if I DID for some reason then there is NO WAY I'd ever sit on the bloody thing. IT'S A COMPUTER!!! You don't sit on computers. You wouldn't put your iPad in your backpack and then sit on that so why would you sit on your phone?

3) The 6 and 6+ are the two thinnest phones available today.

They are even worse than Apple making you beg for an invite to get a phone, make other people destroy their "old" phone only to get a _chance_ at getting an One Plus One (not even getting one guaranteed!). The people who got the device can be happy owners, but the company is just using marketing tricks on every corner to make consumers want it even more and even the price (which is now pretty average, an LG G2 which is also still a great device only costs about 300€ compared to 270€ for a +1) cant make up for their tactics.

One Plus is also not really a small company. It's correct that they are new but as they said themselves: "OnePlus is a separately run company [from OPPO] that does share investors with OPPO."
So they have a pretty big company behind them with the same investors. They just tried out a new marketing strategy using a "new" company that nobody knows about so nobody has prejudices against them.

Nice review. I ordered an iPhone 6 Plus after spending a little time with it at the local Apple store and at AT&T. At first I thought it was too big. However, after a very short time I got quite used to it. In fact, it made all other phones seem almost toy like. Amazing how fast our perceptions change when we start using a new product. I have been reading online that most 6 Plus buyers feel the same way. There is no going back to a smaller phone.

I have just purchased the iphone 6 plus although I haven't received it yet. The main reason for this change is it was competitive against the Note 4 and it doesn't have samsung laggy software. I'm surprised it only has 1 GB of ram but I find that most people use IOS devices these days because they don't get as choppy or laggy as Android devices (especially samsung)

It stinks they have it 1 gb ram, but that amount of ram could hold multitasking either way, it's the OS that doesn't support it.
Well it kinda does, but the OS doesn't really support it because of the 1gb. Plus like he said, tabs will close out too. I'll just stick with my One M7. I was considering switching, but not after that...
Please don't compare it to the note 2, we all know it was first.
Or you know you could just close out apps when your done using them and your fine.
its not like 1 gb is that much smaller then 2 gb(especially since its 1.5 gb useful on many devices), sure your android can run 20% more apps and multitask, especially your 3gb android that is double, but its not an end of the world thing, hey hopefully iOS does gain multitasking support as rumored.
Good job with the review, and of course, with the video. Detailed and in-depth. Still undecided between the regular 6 and the plus, although regular should do it for me.

Ah. I remember when I first bought the iPhone 4. It was fast, with a beautiful retina screen, making all other phones look pale in comparison.
Then I upgraded to iOS 7 and it became not much more than a brick. Need to make a call? No problem, wait 5s for your contacts to show up. Light browsing? Go grab a coffee, iOS 7 is gonna be beautiful for you while your shit is loading for the next 15 seconds.
Oh, BTW dear customer, you cannot downgrade back to iOS 6. Your phone is now obsolete, but we have a new one to sell. What the fuck are you complaining about? You cannot expect to make phone calls with a 3 year old phone, you pathetic penny-pinching peasant.
Enter 2015 - and iPhone 6 is really a ridiculously priced mediocre device. You can get really powerful androids, with Full HD (or even 1440p) screens today, at the third of a price of an iPhone. And the funniest thing of all: *Android 4.4 actually makes your old phone run faster*!
