    For the escalation heroes there is a game called combat arena with the heroe spruce in them. And (when i bought it) it was quite cheap in about 20-30bucks.

      I mention Combat Arena later in the video. If collectors can find it cheaply, it’s a good item to grab to help piece together Eacalation. The hero sprue is the most expensive part of the expansion, so Combat Arena is a good find. My Escalation hero sprue came from Combat Arena, as a matter of fact. Nowadays they’re selling for quite a lot, but it’s always possible to get lucky and find a good deal! Persistence is key. Thanks for the comment!

    Wow Very Helpful! Talk about late to the game, just acquired Base Game late 24’ so was wondering what, if any, expansions to get. So this was very helpful in that. There have been some more releases lately, that will also help find these minis. Darktide, and a new combat arena; Liar of the Beast!! I bought these two games not knowing they may now help me for BS Fortress expansions! Make an updated video maybe??

      Hey there, you’re definitely getting in late but don’t lose hope! You can still scrounge together the materials and minis you need. Like you said, there are even more repackaged opportunities to pick up many of the minis from the expansions than there were when I made this video. That could definitely justify making a follow-up video. I’d recommend joining the Blackstone Fortress Community FB page. There are community resources available (if you ask on the page) to connect you to scans of expansion materials you’re missing. The game still has a thriving community with a wealth of high-quality fan-built expansion content also available!

      @ - Ah Facebook, yeah I was going to join. There’s probably a few, which one’s the best (which are you in)?

    I was just thinking about getting this game. they still make the main box set. crazy that they dont make the expansions.

      I’m glad they at least still make the core game, so more players can experience this excellent game. But at the same time, having only the core game will cause players to seek out the expansions and be met with sky-high eBay prices in most circumstances. It seems to follow GW’s general FOMO business practice of short-run releases for some product lines, like the Warhammer Quest games. If you’re patient, you can still find decent deals on the expansions or piece them together for a reasonable price. Assembling all the content is not quick, unless you’re incredibly lucky or well-financed. If you’re persistent however, the deeper you go into the game the more you’ll appreciate it! Thanks for the comment!

      @@imperialminis857 I found the base game for 140. Doesn't seem to bad. Maybe try to pick up that book you were talking about from white dwarf content

    • @imperialminis857
      @imperialminis857  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Nice! The base game alone will give you good bang for your buck. The 2019 Annual is the book you’re referring to and it will provide you extra content as well. Even if I had no prospect of getting expansion content, I would definitely buy the base game for what it offers. There’s a thriving community out there also that makes unofficial content including extra heroes, campaigns, enemies, etc.

    • @OverboardDM

      I picked up the core game. Now I'm gonna have to watch your video again to right down the important expansions and msrp prices

    • @imperialminis857
      @imperialminis857  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Awesome! I recommend playing the game first, then deciding whether you enjoy it enough to begin the quest to acquire the expansion material. The core game has enough content for you to last a while, but you’ll definitely want to make sure you enjoy that core gameplay experience before deciding whether to seek out the expansions. Feel free to shoot me a message or comment any time you have a question about the game or expansions!

    I lucked out right before Covid hit. I found a guy selling his entire collection. Got every expansion except the cards. Sold his base copy of the game bc I wanted to build and paint my own box. Best of all, I paid under msrp.
    Picked up the annual, and the white dwarf issue with cards. Got so much enjoyment out of this game, and so happy I have a complete set. In the 3-4 years since getting it, I've seen the cards rise in price to insane prices and the same for all the expansions.
    The new kill team blooded chaos, has the traitor orgryn and commissar. So the rare locked models from the expansions are starting to show up elsewhere. The biggest rip off expansion is probably the death guard one, those models are so common.
    There are some community expansions as well, and encourage you to explore fan made content. I think someone tried to PDF the cards, bc they are so rare and expensive now.

      Any time you can pay under MSRP for BSF sets, that’s a huge win. It took me three years to finally accumulate all of the boxed content for the game (at somewhat reasonable prices).

    These warhammer quests games are insanely good…i playing Cursed City currently solo and just ordered the BSF. I think i will just print most of the expansions card at home because prices are just nuts lol

    • @imperialminis857
      @imperialminis857  ปีที่แล้ว

      The Quest games are the only Warhammer products I play. I love them. I have Cursed City and the expansions still in shrink, but will play them when I finish BSF. I still have a lot of BSF to go through though, so maybe Cursed City will hit my table later this year. Good call about printing the expansion content. They’re ridiculously expensive to collect. I’ve pieced most of them together over a year and a half now. Still missing No Respite, but that’s the priciest one!

      I’ve been slowly progressing through the main campaign for a year now. Next expedition will be the Hidden Vault. After that I’ll start Ambull, but still need to paint the minis from Ambull.

    My tip would be to use german/spanish/etc spellings of products, provided you don't mind picking up instructions in another language, my ambull and a few other bits came from the eu.

      @imperialminis857  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s a good tip, especially to score the models and cardboard components. For the paper bits and rulesets, they can be found online easily enough. Thanks for the suggestion!
