I am foaming at the mouth with excitement to hear this record! HOF have quickly become one of my favorite bands over the last year, I'll be listening to it as soon as I possibly can!
Honestly, this band had never really grabbed me before, but I heard one of the singles from this and decided to spin the record (I've been on a sludge binge, too, so that helped), and I was really impressed with it. I think the inclusion of the Middle Eastern and more psychedelic sections was an excellent decision, taking this thing from good to great. I had it on during a lift, and I basically just expected, and mostly wanted, beefy riffs, but ended up with a lot more. I really loved the title track, the very doomy closing track, and "Tough Guy," which was just endless headbanging. Great review, I'm really happy I checked this out!
Will definitely give this album a listen, I liked the songs I have played on Spotify from them but ya know it’ll be delayed just a liiiittlleee bit because well I gotta make way for my Dying Bride 1st.
I'm surprised at how good it is. Their last few albums were pretty good, but there was a feeling of the same 'ol'. This is fresher and more diverse in terms of ideas and arrangements. The new drummer really adds a lot of dynamics to the material as well.
A little ironic that two sludge legends released records on the same day, with orange artwork. One of course being High on Fire, and the other being none other than (the) Melvins. Which is also great, hope to see you review Tarantula Heart
When I saw them the incorrect time was printed on the tickets so all I heard was…”We’ve been High on Fire goodnight” I have no idea who they were saying goodnight to, there was no one in the Labatts centre yet.
High on fire is major band in my life and has been for a few years. Matt’s guitar playing is pretty influential to me, and that being said. A fair amount of people are trying to cancel Matt due to his being inspired lyrical by David Icke. Which is pathetic and not surprising
Also, you should check out the debut album from American progressive death/thrash metal band Nuclear Tomb entitled “Terror Labyrinthian” available today! I think you’ll love it!
ELECTRIC MESSIAH THUNDER AND FIRE also the funny thing about this is that the album is released a day before 4/20 also I commented on the right video lol
Have you ever thought about reviewing all of volbeat's discography? They are one of my favorite bands, and i'm really curious about what you think about them.
I'm not sure they're comparable tbh - they just offer completely different experiences. High On Fire is fun high octane sludgy heavy metal, Chat Pile is like noisy angry music about capitalism and climate change and the end of the world.
Lotta consensus on this one, I'm all aquiver. Keep the party goin with the new stuff from BLACK TUSK & HORNDAL.
new Black Tusk should be tight, they're always reliable for good fun times
I'm pumped to finally listen to the whole record! One of my favorite bands.

Matt's voice is really well balanced in the mix. Almost used as another gristly distorted instrument of doom.

This is such an awesome album!
Matt Pike is a freaking legend, genuinely one of the best metal guitarists....ever
Got this and the new My Dying Bride on CD today, love both! 🤟
Yes as soon as this drops I can't wait to smoke a bone and jam this tonight!
Hell yes! 🔥💨🪶✌🏼
Please stop using the word “drop” to describe an album release. It isn’t 2010 and this isn’t a Drake album.
@@fclefjefff4041 Shut up
Are you gonna review the new Melvins album?
The old logo for High on Fire returns after the other logo looked like it was ripping off Meat Loaf's iconic logo.
Love it❤

This album is awesome, so effing thick and sludgy doom. 🤘

I can't imagine there will be that many sludge metal albums, so this is probably a fic for the best

Second times the charm eh? lmao
@@themetalmeltdownofficial yes my bad lol
Lambsbread is a bonecrushing opener. All hail HOF!
Damn, new HoF and I’m outa weed
"Karanlik Yol" sounds Turkish to me. As far as I know it's a pretty phonetic language so I think u got this one pretty well ;)
Yup it is Turkish, it means Dark Road.
Hum you ve failed with the rev title, cause sludge album of 24 goes to DVNE. Love every HoF
bazinga lol. Great album.

as good as chat pile's 'gods country' ?

@@themetalmeltdownofficial okay, thanks for reply 😘
How many labels do you have to put on one band? They just rock man, the labels are corny.
Can't stand this band
why?
I might have to pick this up on vinyl
I think that would be a very good idea
