I was in this concert. Was Amnesty International Concert, the return of the democracy in Chile. October 1990 Estadio Nacional de Santiago de Chile. Hi all the fans of Sting in the world from Easter Island Chile June 27 2021.
. . Simplemente Excelente. . .
This is the first performance where I've seen Sting using the hammerstroke on bass, alternating with thumb-plucking 50s-style. It's a long way from his excellent pick/fretless style in the Police.
Still as beautiful today 2021 as in 1990. Sting you are a good man a great man in words and deeds...! God’s Blessings to you and your family always!!!🙏🙏🙏🙏🇺🇸🇺🇸❤️❤️😃😃🌹🌹😇😇🥰🥰🍀🍀😘😘💃💃
The afternoon has gently passed me by The evening spreads its sail against the sky Waiting for tomorrow, is just another day God bid yesterday good-bye The future is but a question mark Hangs above my head, there in the dark I think about tomorrow, is just another day God bid yesterday good-bye Turn on my VCR Same one I've had for years James Brown on the T.A.M.I Show Same tape I've had for years I sit in my old car Same one I've had for years Old battery's running down It ran for years and years Turn on the radio The static hurts my ears Tell me where would I go I ain't been out in years Turn on the stereo It's played for years and years An Otis Redding song It's all I own When the world is running down You make the best of what's still around When the world is running down You make the best of what's still around When I feel lonely here Don't waste my time with tears I run "Deep Throat" again It ran for years and years Don't like the food I eat The cans are running out Same food for years and years I hate the food I eat When the world is running down You make the best of what's still around When the world is running down You make the best of what's still around When the world is running down You make the best of what's still around When the world is running down You make the best of what's still around Turn on my VCR Same one I've had for years James Brown on the T.A.M.I Show Same tape I've had for years I sit in my old car Same one I've had for years Old battery's running down It ran for years and years Turn on the radio The static hurts my ears Tell me where would I go I ain't been out in years Turn on the stereo It's played for years and years An Otis Redding song It's all I own When the world is running down You make the best of what's still around When the world is running down You make the best of what's still around When the world is running down You make the best of what's still around When the world is running down You make the best of what's still around
Mariano Gimenez Stewart Copeland's "broken trickling" high-hat on the original and live "Bring On The Night" is beyond compare. Omar and Vinnie are tighter, but that's not everything.
@@skierpage I am not sure... Copeland in some sense revolutionized drumming in pop music, bringing countless copycats. But Omar and Vinnie are fantastic drummers, with unbelievable timing. Omar is my all-time favourite.
Sorry but Vinnie is on another level, Omar is world class and one of my favourite drummers, there's no way you can say that after watching and 'feeling' the energy.
I don't agree (50% only though)... the energy that comes out from Vincent (Vinnie) Colaiuta is out of this world - and that's not a matter of opinion as it's audible and very clear. No disrespect to Omar Hakim who's a world class and I loved him on the live album (and with the Weather Report!) but Vinnie is indeed grooving out of this world here! The 'I agree part' (other 50%) perhaps Colaiuta is too much for Kenny... as I feel that Kenny Kirkland is being 'pushed' to a power solo here more than a refined one (like he plays with Omar Hakim). In that respect, Omar Hakim pushed 'just the right amount', kept the groove going and didn't corner Kenny Kirkland (what an amazing pianist! RIP Kenny!!).
I can enjoy this track with any of the greats drumming, be it Copeland, Hakim, Smith or Colaiuta. But for me, this one is the best - once business time is reached at 1:14, it’s a runaway train.
I never liked Sting as a solo, except a bunch of songs. All the Police magic was lost, he went adrift into that light pop jazzy mood I'm surprised he had such a success.
What a bullshit comment , police was over and he developed into lots of various ways to finally make his music which he could never make with the police and this is pure magic!!
Sting has no groove on the bass. Very bad. Without Daryl Jones, the song looses 40%. Sting was saved and rescued from down under by Kirkland, Hakim and Jones. Without them, Sting was back to common place.
I love Kenny Kirkland. this is one of the best lineups sting had.
You would think the piano had a soul? It had and always will!! R.I.P brother!

Turn on my VCR
Same one I've had for years
James Brown on the T.A.M.I Show
Same tape I've had for years
I sit in my old car
Same one I've had for years
Old battery's running down
It ran for years and years
Turn on the radio
The static hurts my ears
Tell me where would I go
I ain't been out in years
Turn on the stereo
It's played for years and years
An Otis Redding song
It's all I own
When the world is running down
You make the best of what's still around
When the world is running down
You make the best of what's still around
When I feel lonely here
Don't waste my time with tears
I run "Deep Throat" again
It ran for years and years
Don't like the food I eat
The cans are running out
Same food for years and years
I hate the food I eat
When the world is running down
You make the best of what's still around
When the world is running down
You make the best of what's still around
When the world is running down
You make the best of what's still around
When the world is running down
