    As a 737 pilot, it's good to hear the impression from a helicopter pilot! Hope Peter can introduce many helicopter maneuvers or flying characteristics in the future. Also your channel is really unique because I never see any channel with seniors flying the drones or RC planes out there.

      Try xjet if you want to see old guys flying drones and planes. He’s a great guy as far as information goes, he’s actually a great font of knowledge on drones and planes and his friends are funny too. I think you’ll like what you see. If you look at those pins very closely when the batteries disconnected on the drone there’s a cross in the center of the pins another words you could open it. it’s splayed. You could stick a very thin sharp screwdriver in there and open the prongs just a little bit so the plug will not fall out

  • @JohnDoesDrones
    @JohnDoesDrones 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    So to recap regarding your concerns with the drone:
    1. The fit and finish of the goggles can be fixed eventually with third party foam.
    2. The battery popping out could be fixed with some form of velcro strap to the fram preventing the battery from moving but easy to detatch when swapping batteries.
    3. Motion controller - Hope DJI releases a bundle w/ just the FPV controller but otherwise just buy the FPV controller separately.
    4. Regarding the drone freaking out while flying, wait for a firmware/software update.
    Luckily these all seem like things that can be fixed and not a physical issue that would need some form of recall to fix.

    • @CAPTAINDRONE798
      @CAPTAINDRONE798  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      All DJI drones, since the dawn of DJI, have glitches in them, and it always takes a minimum of six months before all is corrected to the point where glitches are almost unnoticeable in daily use.

I’m hoping this will bring back the joy that I had when I first started flying drones. My my FPV drone flew away on me forever when I first started, it made me give up. Ready to start back up again with Avata. I’m so happy I can afford it under 1,000.

    Hopefully by the time I’m able to afford it they’ll have fixed any problems with it. But otherwise I’d probably use it mainly as a cinematic video drone in mainly sport mode. Sure it’s not true fpv drone capable, but it’s a good attempt by dji and I like it. As far as the face fitment goes, I’m sure that if dji doesn’t come up with an extra foam piece goes, someone else will.

    I love my FPV. I wouldn't trade it for the world. I'm going to get the avata but not to replace my FPV just to have it as another drone.
    It's not fast enough to do my plane chases. But I figure it is fast enough to do my chases on the ground. I recently did a chase video of UATV's in the desert. The avada would have been perfect for that particular mission. But DJI hasn't shipped mine yet.

      @WindRiderPNW 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kurtzFPV I am up in Washington state so I have not had the fogging issue. OriginaldoBo had a horrible day with fogging on one of his flights. He is also in Florida I think. Some complaints say there is no fan but like the Capt. said there is and I hear mine on hot days. The blurry edges are a bit frustrating when going through the settings but the clarity when you fly through trees is a definite improvement. Most likely with all the complaints I can see an update happening to fix the blurry issues. When I first got the V2s I was disappointed at first, but after adjustments, new foam and piecing a my own nose bridge together with foam scraps it is now perfect for me. The drone is loud but I absolutely love it. Handles soooo much better than the DJI FPV in tight places and quick turning. Both have their uses though. I have no regrets getting the Avata.

      @@WindRiderPNW @𝒦ℯ𝓃 ℋ thank you for the feedback. I have The first FPV and will likely buy a nice used avata several months from now like I did withe it's big brother. And by then we should know if the goggles are backwards compatible or not. Despite what some say, I would be extremely surprised if they are not. My theory is that they didn't have enough to sell both in the kit and standalone yet, and will update them when or shortly after they release the new air units. The Avata looks like an awesome machine for certain purposes and it is great that you are enjoying yours.

    I'm told it will ship! Haha I'm impatiently waiting for my Avata but with already owning the Fpv I have v2 Goggles. I gotta let your subscribers know about a great safety investment for their Dji Fpv. It is to install two after market items. I was in sport mode and as fast as it will go and flew directly into a cable across the road I was flying over. Now sport mode the Drone books along pretty fast. So if it didn't have The aluminum gimble guard and the cross braces that go from motor to motor, one on each side I guarantee my drone eould have basically exploded!! All that was hurt was the rear right arm broke motor gone and the gimbal shroud cracked. It's back in the air after buying 2 parts!!
    So buy those 2 items. They reduce expensive replacement costs if your a fix things yourself kinda Hobbyist. Happy flying!!!

    I bought the older dji fpv with the mc about 3 weeks ago, and when I first used it I had the same thing come up on screen about interference. I was in the middle of nowhere. Went back and google about it and seen it was a problem with some people. The fix that was told to me and what I did that fixed it was a calibration. Went back to same spot and hasn’t come back on sense. The only problem with the calibration is when it’s shows the pictures of what to do that one of the pictures is wrong and everyone couldn’t get it calibrated. So I watch several more videos until I found the guy that shows the right way the Mc has to be held to calibrate . The first step you hold it out like a screwdriver and rotate it like turning a key in the door. Give that a try when you get time and I bet that will fix it hopefully. I fly mine around the same distance and the other controller now without any problems now.

    If I may add. I have the DJI fpv drone and my drone will randomly brake itself sometimes and hover while I’m in normal mode and from what I found looking into it on forums was that the sensors where catching a glare from the sun and sense they’re light based sensors it cause them to go haywire and the aircraft brakes. One day it was really bright without any clouds and I was about 300 feet up away from my house and the drone just wouldn’t let me take control of it as if I was trying to smash it into a wall😂😂little to say I was freaking out a bit. But after three seconds I remembered the return to home button which allowed the aircraft to go in the direction I was trying to without a problem. Could possibly be why your drone was freaking out too

    Another great video by captain drone. I had that glitch kick in in manual mode (drone falling out of the sky for no reason) and it damaged the drone on 1st day... sent it back in. I m so upset. This thing is not capable of being flown in manual mode IMO. It falls out of the sky. This is starting to be seen all over TH-cam now but I don't think people have realized the seriousness of this issue...only captain drone highlighted the danger for people on top of risking to break the drone.... I m not even sure that a firmware upgrade could fix it.... it seems to have to do with the high center of gravity. Hopefully I m very wrong but I can't believe this is available for retail with such a major flaw. There is not a single avata owner I know who didn't experience the issue right away in manual mode.... some with more luck than others... not to mention the so obvious issue with the battery disconnecting so easily (tricks already found to secure it with rubber and so on).... also... the battery connector on the drone is placed on a very not solid part. Everything is great besides that..... fingers crossed for a firmware upgrade for falling out of the sky issue.... I agree with you on the goggle...as soon as the right foam is released...it will all be better but again.... everyone says it hurts the nose and it's a bit too close to the eyes... don't they test their hardware before releasing

    For it to fall out of the sky like that, I would expect a product recall or cease use order until they have fixed it - That thing went berserk for long enough to do, well anything. I'd say it was dangerous without mincing any words, certainly that unit at the very least. Stick it in a box and return it as a public duty - They need to check that out quick
