    7:27 the artist couldnt have picked more beautiful or detailed still life to challenge himself. I dont usually go for any of the paintings but that one is exquisite gosh!

    Love the Abbey at the beginning and it’s history. The High Altar reredos is by Ninian Comper-spectacular, one of his best works.

    Думается сейчас стало тяжело обслуживать такие поместья …. И они приходят в запустение … нужно как - то возрождать , пусть правительства делают специальные программы -для помощи людям живущим в таких поместьях -это же ваша история . Я Россиянка и мне нравятся наши старинные церкви и поместья и я очень рада когда их реставрируют и используют или по назначению или как музеи !

    how to say your family was privileged: “My father bought these on the day war broke out.” Silver wedding cups. Not silver coins to hide in hems...Some large fancy cups...Glad the mother was furious! Maybe she was not so privileged growing up and she was more worried about feeding her kids...if the war came close...

      And on top of that, the manuscript is not German. It is written in old Dutch ( I should know I am dutch and also speek German)

      Professionals in the museum field believe it is safer to handle books and paper with clean bare hands than with gloves because gloves tend to be bulky and may do more damage than bare hands.

      What he couldnt believe was 'how appalling the condition of the binding' was. nearly what 800-1000- years old book? the binding was probably purposeful in hiding or disguising the marvelous contents.

      @@kevinchambers4848 Not true!! Some very astute appraisers wear gloves that are hardly bulky, and they realize the delicate nature of the items.
