- This 10 minute loop ran on the Starz! channel in January 1994 to promote the launch of the new premium channel. It promotes package pricing with the Encore channel ($4.95 per month for both channels) and upcoming movies for the February 1, 1994 launch. Starring Christopher Reeve.

Some trivia for this promo reel:
-Scent of a Woman was the first movie screened on Starz.
-Some of the titles shown (Do the Right Thing, Field of Dreams, The Babe, Sea of Love) previously aired on network television edited. These were their pay cable debuts.
-Christopher Reeve mentions Pretty Woman when referencing Touchstone. Reeve turned down the role that went to Richard Gere.
one year before paralyzed and 10 years before his death, Christopher Reeve, the star of the first-four Superman movies hosted the STARZ! pre-launch preview loop.

1:17-9:47, the Starz/Encore combo pack infomercial hosted by the late Christopher Reeve! When the channel launched on February 1, 1994, shortly after the introduction by the channel's founder and the national anthem was played, "Scent of a Woman" was the first movie ever shown on Starz!

A similar event happened with Encore on April 1, 1991 when it was launched at 9PM that night, and after the opening ceremony with Encore founder John Sie, his daughter Allison Sie may have been that network's very first host under its original hosting format, introducing the 1980 comedy film Nine To Five, which was the first movie ever aired on Encore that night.
Allison Sie wasn’t the only Encore personality; other Encore personalities included Ron Pearson (who later hosted “Shopping Spree” for The Family Channel), Mark DeCarlo, Jim Gallant (who also doubled as the network’s first continuity announcer) and real-life friends (and the two women who toddlers and kids had a crush on) Suzanne Dunn and Pirie Jones.
