  • I needed a rod and reel to easily carry so I decided to try the Plusinno Telescopic Fishing Rod and Reel Combo from Amazon. The rod comes in different sizes and I chose one that expands to almost 7ft. My first impression of the Plusinno rod was that it was a little top heavy when expanded but I got used to that fairly quickly. The rod feels like it is medium action with medium to medium heavy power, with enough sensitivity for finesse fishing. The Plusinno spinning reel has a compact form factor, comparable to a 2000 size, and is surprisingly smooth for a fairly inexpensive rod and reel combo. I have several rod and reels and although this one will not be my everyday rod and reel choice, it will certainly have a place in my arsenal as it is so easy to throw in a car, a backpack or a suitcase. I have left a link below to this product on Amazon if you want to check it out. I am not being paid to promote this product.

    AWESOME! The only thing I love as much as fishing, is watching other people fishing when I can't.

    perfect for the golf course- I just need 3-4 casts to land 3-4 ft tarpon or snook!

    Hi Oz, I’ve got the newer model carbon plussino. Did you ever figure out to to make the handle longer? Apparently it’s also extendable but I can’t figure out how.

    • @FishingwiththeOz
      @FishingwiththeOz  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I didn’t do anything with the handle. I just deal with it when I use it.

      @@FishingwiththeOz same. Slayed toads in St Aug today with it. Ran a lews on it instead of the reel that came with it. Smashed throwing wacky rig senkos all day. Would sure be nice if it did extend tho.

    I've been contacted by them just recently to help review their product and I settled on this telescopic rod and reel. So will see how it goes.

      I rarely use it but it will catch fish. I’m sure the newer model is nicer as well.

      I will always prefer using a traditional rod and reel as they have better feel and balance, however, if you need something compact but strong enough to bring in a good size fish, this is a legitimate option.

    Hi. Can we use the rod for surfcasting method? Thank you

    • @FishingwiththeOz
      @FishingwiththeOz  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, I dont think this would be a good surf rod. Even though Plusinno sells a longer version of this rod that is around 8 1/2 feet long with a 3000 size reel it would still not be good for the surf as the handle is too short and reel is too small. A good surf rod should be 10 to 12 feet in length with a long handle and a larger reel, usually a 5000 to 6000 size reel that will hold more line and cast further. I hope this helps

      It’s a small compact reel, guessing it’s in the 2000 size. It’s not my everyday rod and reel but it works and easy to transport.

      It actually feels pretty strong.. I have only had it for about a week and so far so good.. I have other rods and reels so I won't use this every day but It's convenient to put in my fishing backpack.

    Do you think this would be good for salt water fishing as well?

    • @FishingwiththeOz
      @FishingwiththeOz  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don’t think this rod and reel combo (which is now an older model) is designed for saltwater use. It’s main purpose is for portability and occasional use and not really as a primary ,every day, rod and reel.

      @@FishingwiththeOz I'm looking for something that can fit in a back pack and be used for salt or fresh water in an SHTF situation, and suggestions and/or links would be greatly appreciated.

    • @FishingwiththeOz
      @FishingwiththeOz  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheFriendlyPsychopath I am not an expert on telescopic rods but your might want to consider getting the rod and reel separately. That way you can find a reel that is designed for saltwater use. This looks like a decent rod - I like that the handle appears to be the length of a traditional rod a.co/d/9X82dXm
