This was a really nice video. So interesting to see the Chinese signs on the front panel. My brain connects front panels with Latin characters, and Chinese with text and art. It was beautiful
This is astonishingly high-effort content, well done! Thanks for your insights on the historical development of Chinese computers. I'm especially glad (and impressed) that you decided to make your personal model of the computer fully functional rather than just aesthetic.
Awesome, great work on that replica, and congrats on getting it to run a program ! :) Hope to see the real machine some day. Is the documentary at the end of the video "China's First Computer - 103" available somewhere ? Thanks !
Hi, the documentary "China's First Computer - 103" was taken by China Computer Federation (www.ccf.org.cn/) , I will ask them if they can upload the video to youtube. Thanks.
Thanks for watching. I didn't find any architecture document in English for 103 even for its prototype Soviet M-3 computer. I uploaded a Chinese version of M-3 Computer Architecture (almost same as 103) on archive.org. You may download it for your referrence. archive.org/details/m-3_20250113
some are bound to frown upon this great piece, as not showing mao in an evil setting automatically constitutes a 'prop-gan-da', because 'god forbidden' he could revive a dying china without the need of kowtowing to or being enslaved by the west
Very good. Australia had a similar history with the earlier computers. I went through university in the mid-1970s and the original researchers from the 1950s were still lecturing.
Yes, it's the same Kowloon in HongKong. Hua first returned to Hong Kong from the United States, and after a short stay, returned to Beijing on March 16, 1950.
@@HyyskanPolttaja Yes, Yinhe-1 learned some of Cray's design, but the internals are different. My friend Si Hongwei wrote a book about Yinhe-1 computer, which was just published recently, but it is only available in Chinese. It contains a comparison between Yinhe-1 and Cray.

What are the checkpoints on the road for? We do not have a single one in Germany. No toll stations, no police station, no lizense plate check, no face recognition, no automated searching for bad guys just to say.
@@geeklogic I do not agree. Even in Germany bridges with transponder readers have been installed (regarding commercial users), but of course these Maut-Brücken could be used for the formentioned purposes easily, if there is the interest to do so. I personally argue, the PRC authories have a very strong interest and they do so. surveilance, tracking, suppressing poeple. YOU can not convince me the other way. Sorry.

Thanks for making China history in early computing known. That was very interesting and the model is great!
Thanks for doing an English audio version! Great to see the history.

That's extramely interesting. I'm subscribing and hope to see more videos of Chinese input in computer science.

Very intresting and informative and congrats on the replica very nice work !!
thank for come back with english voice. Greetings from Thailand I watch GeekLogic with TH-cam auto generate English or Thai subtitle.

Awesome video and great reconstructions! Wonderful job! "The deciphering was complete"
It's really interesting, you're awesome and your English is great. Hi from Poland :)
It required a full-time employee to keep putting in all the little button batteries
