    I had a tear in March. Rehab bad. Surgery July. Constant clicking with every movement of my knee right after surgery. Suspect inside pain on outer bend. Rehab arguing I don’t need ultra sound therapy. Had to fight for it. It does help with inflammation and scar tissue. Complained about instability. Told I have an arthritic knee and am going to need a knee replacement. By surgeon. He never told me about how it would feel post surgery. I had almost rehabilitated it before surgery. It feels worse now. Rehab only going thru the motions no challenge. I keep saying it feels wobbly. And what happened to my muscle tone! I can visually see the weakness in Surgury knee. Feels unstable. What now?, the director of rehab actually told new knee only moves front and back. Does she watch baseball Or tennis? Thanks for listening.

      Sorry to hear. Was it a Meniscectomy? How long have you been rehabbing before and after surgery?

      @@fitnesspainfree yes it was. Month and a half before. And it was almost better and then surgery set me back. Month and a half now. Better. But still compromised functioning. Turning. Etc. do not get contrast MRI. It’s still full 10 days later. Massive headaches. Yes contra indicated for arthritic knee.

    This video helped me so much, I don't even know how to thank you, someone recommended it to me on reddit and I'm grateful I watched it, I decided not to have the surgery, I'm 20 and physically active, I had a meniscus tear while doing a series of squats , I insisted a lot to have the surgery with the doctor but he explained to me that the surgery would remove a part of my meniscus and that I should decide if I would like to have it or not but he did not explain it to me in great detail, I was confused and wanted to know the consequences of this, thank you

    Thank Youuu Sooo Much. This was the most detailed and research oriented explanation of all the questions I had. I'm 20 and had a meniscus tear about 4 months ago. One surgeon suggested meniscus Repair while others suggested PT. Couldn't really make a decision. But I had one question unanswered that will meniscus Repair save me from a long term osteoarthritis that PT won't??! I still am quite undecisive. But yeah , your's was the most satisfactory explanation. Please let me know if you're still active and would be willing to help me make a decision. If yes please share your email. Thank Youuu Sooo Much ✨

    Such a great video! I’m about to repair my acl and medial meniscus bucket handle tear. I am 28 and have been powerlifting perfectly fine with my injury throughout the years and my knee has become much more stable with occasional buckling with change of direction or pivoting. I’ve had the tear for about 7 years and my knee just got stuck on me which forces me into surgery. It’s a bit discouraging that the success rate is 58%. Now I’m debating whether or not to get the repair? Can you give me your thoughts or any advice please.

      @fitnesspainfree  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Brian! Can’t really give specific advice but important to weight the pros and cons of the surgery with your surgeon and or PT. The idea is to both extend the lifespan of the knee and also to get you back to whatever activities you enjoy. The risk is having more meniscus issues in the future due to a lack of ACL. Surgeries can be scary but sometimes it’s the best choice.

      @@fitnesspainfreeyes, surgeon wants to remove a bucket handle tear of my lateral meniscus of right knee, 50%, and trim a tear in the medial of my left knee.
      I can’t run, have serious problem with right knee but no locking.
      I am really struggling mentally with the surgery, I need to commit to the right knee but not sure about the left?
      48 year old man, feel I’m going to have a nervous breakdown about this.
      I took early retirement to travel the world snowboarding etc and now I feel all of that is over.

    I have a meniscus tear, and the doctor says it's flips, and i need to do surgery to put it back in place right away. My blood pressure went thru the roof, and he kept on scaring me and telling me all the bad things that can happen if i wait too long like 2 more weeks then i might need a knee replacement and i told him i need more time to think about it but he keeps on telling me its better to do it now he wants me to do it August 6 but i told him ill do it on the 27th but he sounds as if he's upset with me because he keeps on saying he then will have to remove the entire thing. Idk what to do

      If you’re unsure of what the doc says you can always get a second opinion. Get a few good recommendations and see those docs if you can. Hard to tell anything and I can’t give specific medical advice.

    Thank you for the very informative video! Do you still need reference #8? I managed to download it. If so, please give me an email address and I will send it to you.
    Your video helped me a lot to realize that I most likely don't need to do a surgery, despite two surgeons strongly pushing for it. A surgeon in my home country (Serbia) said "don't let them do the surgery". He probably knew that in the USA this is the most common course of action.
    Do you have any exercises you would recommend for meniscus tear?
    Thanks again!

      Thanks! I’d love the reference. Ya search meniscus in my page I have a lot of videos and a case study you might find useful. Also I’ll be going in depth on the meniscus in the next several months upcoming.

    So meniscus repair require rehab and meniscectomy dont't?

    • @fitnesspainfree
      @fitnesspainfree  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Both can require physical therapy or conservative care. In some cases surgical is the best option.

    Will the knee pop back in place after being locked? I’m currently dealing with lock knee. It’s been 6 days now. Should I try extending knee to see if knee unlocks?

    • @fitnesspainfree
      @fitnesspainfree  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Go see a professional. Yes I’ve seen some locking improve with time and have gotten a few knees unstuck in the clinic but definitely best to see a doc or Physio at this point.
