This is gonna be long but yeah I think the video production meant that we couldn't see a lot of the members who were singing, like Yangyang did a lot of prechorus and Jeno did some too and then Yangyang stood out a bit in the final chorus but the way it was filmed we couldn't really see. I think when it comes to the line distribution ten and haechan defo hard carried, followed by mark and sungchan and then I would say Jeno and Yangyang then Winwin. Also Aiden produced it and he's well known for his sm songs but I think the way the song went, the intro was long and the chorus was done all together which meant there wasn't much left in the verses. Sungchan defo needed to show his skills cos this was his debut and then mark came next which meant Jeno and Yangyang couldn't really rap as much. Its a shame Winwin couldn't have more tho- im looking forward to the live stages to see how they make the members stand out a bit more and wether it would be fair there.

I honestly not surprise with their choice of a 90s concept at all! I mean they've been doing a lot of 90's R&B and Hiphop throughout their discography. And with From Home as the ultimate late-90's R&B, "90's Love" is definitely their take on for the Hip Hop genre. And totally agree! NCT never following trends... like ever, which what makes them standout musically.

The song is good but at the same time, hearing someone like Haechan sing about the 90's is kinda wild (I believe only 3 of the members in this unit are 90's kids). I support Yangyang exploring singing and I'm happy for lines he got. But like this is his first time being part of a promoting unit for NCT2020. Him, Mark and Hendery have the most american sounding rap style in NCT it was the perfect chance to show his talent in rapping.
YES! Sungchan came out here and showed out, I can see him being a regular line member. But I hate how they always do my WinWin, he's more than a pretty face, and I can't wait until they show him the respect he deserves. YangYang needed some more screen time too. Mark always kills it, Ten come through with those vocals! Jeno shined doing the pre-chorus, and I can never see any wrong with Haechan, he kills anything you throw his way.

For me the key parts from this song are the bridge with Haechan and Ten singing, Jeno part and Sungchan rapping, for real Sungchan it's outstanding in this MV and his rapping part is so 90's he has a very natural flow for a rapper it looks like he is not even trying which is cool. He looks very relaxed, like him!
I feel like the only problem I have with this song is that the unit maybe had too many rappers, even Ten rapped at some point, which is probably why Yangyang and Winwin barely got any lines (Sungchan had to shine and Mark is... Mark, I guess XD). Don't blame the guys for it but it feels kinda obvious in this MV, which is still very much a good song ^^
Honestly for Yangyang the problem is more the screentime and the lack of rap line because he did more lines than Sungchan, Jeno or Winwin. Winwin.... sigh... I have no word.... he has that very small part shared with YangYang and some adlibs mostly at the start of the song and that's it. Normally when someone doesn't have a lot of lines, you give them some screentime but they didn't bother to do that for Winwin and YangYang. And the fact that Sungchan shines a lot here is because he has a very impactful and iconic part (even used for their tiktok channel, that's how iconic it is) and his two parts are really near each other (start of post chorus + start of the 2nd verse). Jeno really didn't get a lot (1 part + (or 1 and a half if we count the end of the post chorus after Sungchan) but well it's more than Winwin) but they really give him enough screentime to compensate the lack of lines.. That's probably why only probably Jeno stans notice it and not really other NCT fans. And he has a lot of center part. I wonder why they didn't do that for YangYang and Winwin. I feel like, if they actually didn't used Yangyang parts mostly to show either another member or just the team, it' would have been bearable (+ he has a nice singing voice, once again I was surprise he didn't get a rap line but I really like hear him sing). When I compare this MV with Work it MV (for the screen time or the line distribution) it's "fairer" in Work It for most of them. Well Jisung barely got lines...... but even with his injury they managed to have some nice solo shot for him and it's probably more than the solo shots Winwin got in both 90's love AND Boss... Really I don't understand what is their problem with Winwin. They don't even try for him and when you think it was his only video apparence for NCT 2020 (Yangyang at least had Misfit).... I won't blame the members that were given the most lines because it's really not them who choose (+ I can't say I don't like them singing those parts, it would be a big lie). But the screen time.... less dinosaurs or hockey scenes would have been enough to not feel like YangYang and Winwin barely existed there. (I aimed a short answer and I wrote a novel-like comment, I am sorry)

Most of the time they either know who they want in which part or give a try out for some people that can fit a part and choose what they think is the most fitting. But really with screen time they actually can do whatever they want. They proved it in Work it. I never thought "wow that's a lot of focus on xxxx" while in 90's love they deliberately went for that vibes (Mark has 2 different solo shots (out of his hockey gear) some members don't). At the end of the song a lot of people were like "wait where were Yangyang and Winwin" mostly because they don't know their voices so they focus more on what's shown in the screen and.... they are really not there. For Work It people have mixed feelings about the song itself (and some about the MV that looks so much low budget compared to Make a Wish or even 90's love) but I actually really like the song, it's fun and makes me want to dance along with them. I can see all the boys shine in their own way and having fun together (+ I have 3 of my biases there! lucky me). A really win even if SM messed up completely with the MV release. But really I kind of get it when I see Winwin's fans getting angry on his behalf on Twitter. He is one of the members who participated in just 3 songs for this album (same as Jeno and Jaemin), got not even that much part in the 3 songs and he appeared in just 90's love (video wise, compared to Jeno and Jaemin who appeared in 3 videos) and they were waiting for it.... but sadly it seems SM doesn't want to even show him in a solo shot or a close up. They waited for him to have just some dust and that's sad. I really get it when they just want him in WayV because he has more than that there. Buy honestly I was there for nct 2018 and... I already knew if they did a project like that once again it would be completely unfair to some members. It is still better than 2018 because every member finally got to experience at least 2 NCT U unit but it's really not fair for some members (but once again they never went for fairness).

Like Bel Biv Defoe, Naughty by Nature, Busta Rhymes, Kacee and Jojo...and even a bit of Boys II Men. Winwin.... sigh... I have no word.... he has that very small part shared with YangYang and some adlibs mostly at the start of the song and that's it.
Normally when someone doesn't have a lot of lines, you give them some screentime but they didn't bother to do that for Winwin and YangYang.
And the fact that Sungchan shines a lot here is because he has a very impactful and iconic part (even used for their tiktok channel, that's how iconic it is) and his two parts are really near each other (start of post chorus + start of the 2nd verse).
Jeno really didn't get a lot (1 part + (or 1 and a half if we count the end of the post chorus after Sungchan) but well it's more than Winwin) but they really give him enough screentime to compensate the lack of lines.. That's probably why only probably Jeno stans notice it and not really other NCT fans. And he has a lot of center part.
I wonder why they didn't do that for YangYang and Winwin.
I feel like, if they actually didn't used Yangyang parts mostly to show either another member or just the team, it' would have been bearable (+ he has a nice singing voice, once again I was surprise he didn't get a rap line but I really like hear him sing).
When I compare this MV with Work it MV (for the screen time or the line distribution) it's "fairer" in Work It for most of them. Well Jisung barely got lines...... but even with his injury they managed to have some nice solo shot for him and it's probably more than the solo shots Winwin got in both 90's love AND Boss...
Really I don't understand what is their problem with Winwin. They don't even try for him and when you think it was his only video apparence for NCT 2020 (Yangyang at least had Misfit)....
I won't blame the members that were given the most lines because it's really not them who choose (+ I can't say I don't like them singing those parts, it would be a big lie). But the screen time.... less dinosaurs or hockey scenes would have been enough to not feel like YangYang and Winwin barely existed there.

@@miyabihyatt It's alright. I like 90's Love - the nostalgia is strong lol - but I think I like it the least out of all of the MV so far. I don't know, I feel like less random dinosaurs and say more Winwin and Yangyang would have been better. Work It felt more 'well' intended (?) like Make A Wish, so I enjoyed it more even if a lot of people don't seem to know how to feel about the song (I personally like it). At least Winwin gets a lot of screentime in WayV songs (well at least compared to NCT?) but I do wonder what their intentions with him are, since I imagine he has fans in China and Korea, too.
I have nothing against Sungchan shining here because it is his title track debut and everyone was happy for him doing well but yeah, I feel like Mark had a lot of lines, for example (I love Mark and nothing against him, but I feel like he works overtime while a lot of members basically just stand there and look pretty. At least, that's the impression 90's Love gives me compared to Make A Wish and Work It, even Misfit)
@@miyabihyatt For example, in Work It, Ten appears to have less lines in favor of Yuta, Johnny, Jungwoo, Hendery etc. but he still shines when it's his part to do so regardless, I don't know, it just feels more balanced to me? Same with Make A Wish and sorta Misfit (even if Mark had like 2 rather long raps there)
@@glaciemdraco well we can do nothing about line distribution sadly, that's the ones making music that can make it more balanced and it wasn't their intention. Most of the time they either know who they want in which part or give a try out for some people that can fit a part and choose what they think is the most fitting.
But really with screen time they actually can do whatever they want. They proved it in Work it. I never thought "wow that's a lot of focus on xxxx" while in 90's love they deliberately went for that vibes (Mark has 2 different solo shots (out of his hockey gear) some members don't).
At the end of the song a lot of people were like "wait where were Yangyang and Winwin" mostly because they don't know their voices so they focus more on what's shown in the screen and.... they are really not there.
For Work It people have mixed feelings about the song itself (and some about the MV that looks so much low budget compared to Make a Wish or even 90's love) but I actually really like the song, it's fun and makes me want to dance along with them. I can see all the boys shine in their own way and having fun together (+ I have 3 of my biases there! lucky me). A really win even if SM messed up completely with the MV release.
But really I kind of get it when I see Winwin's fans getting angry on his behalf on Twitter. He is one of the members who participated in just 3 songs for this album (same as Jeno and Jaemin), got not even that much part in the 3 songs and he appeared in just 90's love (video wise, compared to Jeno and Jaemin who appeared in 3 videos) and they were waiting for it.... but sadly it seems SM doesn't want to even show him in a solo shot or a close up. They waited for him to have just some dust and that's sad.
I really get it when they just want him in WayV because he has more than that there.
Buy honestly I was there for nct 2018 and... I already knew if they did a project like that once again it would be completely unfair to some members. It is still better than 2018 because every member finally got to experience at least 2 NCT U unit but it's really not fair for some members (but once again they never went for fairness).

winwin deserved more screentime,, atleast! i understood why jeno and yangyang didn't rap like that, sungchan deserved that verse and he absolutely murdered it, but winwin could've gotten more of EVERYTHINGGG😔 i still absolutely adore this song, sungchan is one of my favorite rappers in kpop already there's just smth about his voice and flow, i also really like his facial expressions lmfao. THE HIGHNOTESSSS and the "we want~" in the chorus is tOO much for me dude it's tOO good

Winwin and Yangyang's lines were the shortest but they stood out the most to me. Especially Yangyang, his lines were literally the only ones I could remember after listening to the song (as well as Sungchan's "Don't hit.. jump jump" part too though lol)

I'm not sure how old u are sweetie, but I am from the 90's. I can tell you they did wonderful on this song...taking a bit from so many 90's artists. Like Bel Biv Defoe, Naughty by Nature, Busta Rhymes, Kacee and Jojo...and even a bit of Boys II Men. I wouldn't be surprised if Teddy Riley helped them on this one...I know he has been their producer in the past...why not use him for some of the music he created...and for those who are unaware who Teddy Riley is, he was with a group in the 90's called Blackstreet...they had the hit "No Diggity".
